- I bought a cheap high mileage Bmw 320D M Sport E90, with scruffy paint and No Mot, can we make a profit on this BMW?
This car throws up a view surprises along the way so please watch in full and I would love to hear your comments on this one.

Good Video Mate, having owned at a guess 100 cars or so in the last few years including multiple BMW’s the E90 I still feel is an under rated car that holds its own in modern traffic and now at the stage you can pick up some real bargains. Subscribed….
Agree a decent E90 is a far better option than say a mondeo of that time frame. However some of the smaller petrol engines left a lot to be desired but the diesels and big petrol units really are a blast and still look modern on the driveway. Many thanks for comment and for sub does means a lot
I've got a same age & mileage e91 which is still going strong. I'll try and keep it going for as long as possible, as there's nothing to beat it for comfort and reliability, although it's had a replacement turbo and various electrical problems...

M sports have black headlining. M47 known to be reliable and less timing chain issues compared to N47 which are more known for that.
Yeah I’m guessing the interior is original but he’s tried painting it where the rubber coating was peeling off
Mine 238k miles and still runs m47 is reliable engine

N47 could do I think with propper maintenance and preventive maintenance , just talked to a lad with F10 with 178k on clock , and no timing chain changed yet
@@pauliuszeromskis wow that’s crazy. Just curious did u change any parts if so which ones just wondering I have the m47 engine aswell mines on 113,000 miles and I changed my crankshaft pulley but other than that it’s been quite reliable
I have never laughed as much sat on myself when you discovered that lovely painting on the dashboard watched it ten times best laugh I've had in ages watching a channel ten out of ten. Love it

nice vid 👍 320d M47 you can't go wrong. They are old now though so I'm guessing you are only going to be attracting those who know them or just want a cheap deal or run around. Northern ones are starting to look a bit crusty in the usual places though and over 180 thousand miles I think the suspension often is beginning to be a bit knackered on these. Good reliable motors that are fast enough to put a smile on the average man. I think the only weak points are the crank pulleys that go at moon mileage, alternator that will die after similar but also cooling hoses that do seem to let people down. Other than that probably one of the best driving cars still on the road these days - cant fault the hydraulic steering either - non of that electric playstation like steering with no feel you get on most modern cars now.

Just bought a 2005 320d e46 in Spain for 1000€ and its so bad in the exterior (mismatching bumper colors, original paint all scratched and getting off) and 150k miles and we consider it here a good deal... Real deals are in the UK! Great to see you guys are making profit even at these prices there.

Hey Lee love the channel and your videos. I think though you might be being a bit harsh on the car. Don't forgot we were all 17 once and had ago at the old rattle can respray with the RS or M sport go faster stripes and stickers . Some other 17 old will love that car as his first run about ..remember at that age I was only interested on how comfy the back seat was and loud the stereo went to...😁 Keep the content coming your one to a good earner here.

No its ok beer lodge, I sold it for £850, bought it for £350 from dealer in part ex and to my amazement it needed nothing for mot so passed costing me nothing which even now i cannot believe how lucky I was as it was a sketchy car to say the least. The workshop I run is a working garage and mot station so it did not cost us anything for the test fee other than the slot which is about £2.50. The only thing we did to this was wash it off and replace the battery for a spare one we had taken off a scrapper (decent fairly new battery). wish they were all this cheap to get through a MOT 😁 Thanks for watching the vids and comment
Great video, the N47 has 3 timing chains, the upper one is the one that can go mainly due to lack of oil changes, so to see a 200k miler still running OK is good news
Yes to be fair 200k is decent miles for a n47, Your also correct on 3 chains, we had to change some on a mini diesel fitted with the n47 engine a few years back, on the mini you had to remove the engine to get to the chains as they were at the back. nasty job. It’s a 2006. It should have the M47 engine. I put a new clutch in mine at 210000 miles. It was a beautiful motor
This car has the earlier m47 which is less refined and less powerful but doesn't have timing chain problems.
This is m47 unless it has been swapped
That car has to be worth more than 350 in parts alone.
My F10 N47 has just snapped it's chain at 218k.
That tow loop is Purley aesthetic. Wouldn’t trust a rope on that 😅

8 previous owners, Chavtastic options, home painted bumpers. I would also have thought it was a dog.
But we made profit from it, got it through a Mot and found a new keeper, granted this is not my cup of tea either but at the end of the day its about creating profit. Thanks for watching Unus and comments 👍

Check out the timing hain on this one . Notorious n47 engine known for dropping it's chain. Superseeded in 2015 with a modified B47 engine
This has M47 not N47, M47 are bomb proof

We all need to know this information. Every 5 years I buy a new( second hand ) car for my Mrs. Was able to buy a 6 year old vw sharan 130 diesel 11 years ago- 6 years ago it was an 8 year old focus Zetec climate, a year ago we bought a 11 year old focus zetec estate with 90k on it. We all need to make things last that bit longer now a days.😔 subbed 💪🏼💪🏼

i see this is a Pre LCI ( probs a 05/06 mod ) but it has cupholders in the dash ? thought was only LCI wich has this ?
Looks like b&q's finest magnolia paint on the dash 🤣. Good video, never really been a fan of the saloon e90 the wagon and coupe are better looking in my opinion.

Hi sir I am in South Africa and on Friday I went to a garage and saw an f90 320d msport milage 217 no oil leaks it looks good no smoke the price is too much R160 000 what's your take on that it a sunroof and it's automatic 2011 model?

This is M47 163hp, if maintained properly, it will run 300k miles. No chain issues. Exhaust pointed downwards mean it has no DPF - cats only.
Change crankcase ventilation filter
Yes it was the slightly later version with more bhp that had chain issues, we have come across a few of them in bmw's and Mini's. to be fair this m sport had done big miles so looked after I could believe it doing 300k, thanks for the comment Desmo 👍
There were 163hp versions of N47 for Belgian market if Im not wrong, so people often make a mistake while trying to avoid it. But after you pop up the hood, you cant go wrong!
I'm sure I few with down pointing exhaust do have DPF

You come across as very negative considering it’s a£350 car mate. If I paid £350 for that I’d have zero complaints
not negative about the price it was very cheap as i mentioned in the video, i was just annoyed more about the poor paint and the dash which was painted and looked a mess as it spoiled the car. thanks for watching ian have a great new year
I got 20k out of a rattling duel mass and then clutch started slipping and I lost first gear. Bought it with the slight noise and it drove fine and for long enough that the car ended up free from the use I got out of it then I sold it on and got a decent wedge for it on copart.

It's the non dpf model aswell which is a bonus
Yes modern Dpf filters are pain and a constant theme with blocked up diesel engines coming into our garage for repair

Hi there, it was bought from a Car dealer friend of mine who took it in part exchange, it has to many miles on clock for him. Most of my vehicles come from other dealers in part exchange or from car auctions. Many thanks for watching and comment 👍
My E90 10 plate n43 engine is 250k miles and still goes on
I own it from 167k, service every 5k miles and still feels good the engine.

@@carukchannel still planning to keep it as long as I can. Timing chain and clutch done at 230k . Clutch was original and on his last bite. Timing chain i’ve done for my peace of mind although I think would survive more. I think every car can survive over 200k as long as is serviced on time, and not abused
i see alot of people saying they change oil after 5k miles. I personally do it at 10k. Will this damage the engine? VW Passat 2.0TDI 2008.
@@techgamer1597 no, 10k is fine on 2.0TDI, but obviously 5k is better.

Defiantly a young lads car, we get a lot of people in the garage asking for cheap cars so it did not surprise me that much. What surprised more was he was not bothered by the paint and dash.

Is e90 more fun to drive than e46? e90 feels heavier ?
E46 IMO drives better was little more tail happy and just fun. Your right E90 feels and is a heavy car but massive improvements in the looks department

the seats were 100% genuine cream, he just went mad with the leather cream die on the dash and door cards for what ever reason I cannot fathom 😂
All M Sport cars have black headlining. SE and non M Sport models come with the beige headlining.
Hi amar, Yes I was aware the headlining was original it was the painted dash that threw me, the dash was black under the cream paint dye he applied (you could see the original colour in places still) surely it would not of been fitted with cream seats and cream carpets but black dash and headlining from factory. 🤔 or would it ?? I could understand why he's attempted to paint the bumpers etc, made a hash of it but thought he could have a crack at it, I've done it before and done a MUCH worse job, learned my lesson there. But painting the dash in bloody magnolia is hilarious, what chav wants a magnolia dash?

I've been offered a 320d m sport business edition Estate outo . Top spec . 2010 . 135000 miles full service history one oner. Is £7000 over the top for this car . Its excellent condition but am I paying way more than its worth . Eney feedback would be appreciated . Great channel too .
seems a £1k to high in my opinion but if its a exceptional example the dealer may hold out for that extra. I would be looing circa £6k money with 100-110k as a bench mark. But at the end of the day if its what you want and its the best of the best go for it. Thanks for watching chris and good luck

Bought a 525d msport 115k miles auto for £3850 09 plate LCI
Needed work so cost £4500.
6k is too much for 2010 high miles? And 320 as well?

@@christophersummerfield9922 dealer with warranty maybe but private sale too much. Sellers market these days as new cars on hold. I bought mine privately in July and it’s was 5k retail but got it for 4k spent £350 gearbox service , tyres £250. Wheel refurb £200 , service £100. So owes me £5k.
So will be lucky to sell for more. Autotrader says £4300 but asking prices are 5-6k.
How do we get access to PX dealers so we can buy cheap cars too.
Hi cyber getting cars in px from dealers is somthing i have built up via friendships over the years, and not an easy thing to do these days as.most are now sending to the auctions. The auctions would always be the best place to start but also check out market place and gum tree as there is a lot of private vehicles for sale that can have a decent mark up if your willing to turn them round. thanks for watching cyber and happy 2023

That is a m47 engine. Nothing for that engine mate m47 are great one of the best diesel engines made. 263k on mine runs perfect.
N47 dreadful engines, they started going in from 2007 some 07 have m47 some have n47
Bargain at £350 and bargain at 850. Spares or repairs are over 1000 where I live. No chance of anything under 500

It needed a new dual mass which probably meant new clutch too while you’re in there. That’s 450 quid on parts.
If he didn’t do it himself then it’s 300 labour.
So he’d be 1600 in for a 200k 06 320D with that dodgy paint and future jobs such as rear brakes and pads.

Will be a few hundred pounds for a dual mass kit as I explained to him, it did not phase him. To be fair looking online at ebay where it would of ended up it would fetched that figure anyhow, market is crazy currently even cars in need of tlc like this making daft money.
