    Wow what the hell that was unexpected. A KO with his punches from Kiatsongrit. I guess he learned from the Roufus fight, after all the low kicks you can take him out with punches to the head.

    The first knocked down, Dale gave a gay smirk, the second knocked down wiped it off, and the third knocked down just took him in the the reality. He finally realized that he was wrong to agree to the fight. The Japanese created rules to restrict Changpuek's MuayThai natural styles, yet he manage to give Dale a complete beating. He was lucky that those were punches, not full elbow strikes.

      On the positive side Cook showed lots of respect to Kiatsongrit after the fight. He definitely didn't know what he was up against, or that Kiatsongrit wasn't going to show all his moves in round 1!

    Damn. This is the first fight of Dale’s that I’ve seen. This is the first fight I’ve seen after the fight against Rick Roufus. Seems like his game plan was air tight and I even had to keep rewinding one combo he threw where he immediately checked Changpuek’s kick. It was so fluid it almost looked choreographed. What neither him nor I expected was Changpuek to start throwing punches. You gotta give it to changpuek for adapting. Gonna go watch more of his fights now. Hope anyone who reads this has a good day/night

    • @ephasm
      @ephasm 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      not really. I mean fair play to the guy, he was a serious full contact fighter... but at the same time other americans were travelling to japan and south america and already starting the trend that would result in modern MMA. the western kickboxing styles were shown by styles like muay thai, sanshou, lethwei, kyokushin karate etc to be weak - primarily because their western scoring criteria emphasised volume of shots, rather than effect.

    • @laodamns8433
      @laodamns8433 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      He was a choke. In this fight, the rules were created by the Japanese promoters to create a disadvantage to the MuayThai fighters. Dale knew it, that's why he took the fight. He thought he had a chance. Imagine if it had been under full MuayThai rules where clinch, knees and elbow strikes are allowed, he would have been carried out on a stretcher. Yet, given the restrictions and the disadvantage Changpuek had to deal with, he still gave Dale a thorough beating.

    • @xchargerOUx
      @xchargerOUx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Rules are there to keep the competition fair. If you feel butt hurt over Muay Thai fighters having to fight with the rules then that's your fault. Michael Thompson beat Kiatsongrit, and Masato beat Buakaw along with others, so lets not act like this is something of a disadvantage.

    • @laodamns8433
      @laodamns8433 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      He did not dare to fight other real MuayThai fighters. This was in Japan where they've been trying for 40 years to create rules which disadvantage MuayThai natural fighting styles. No matter what they tried, the results were the same, the MuayThai fighters gave thorough ass kicking every time. Now, imagine if Cook agreed to fight Changpuek under full MuayThai rules where knees, elbows, throws, clinches would be allowed. He would have been carried out of the ring on a stretcher, and he knew that. His trainers knew it.

      It's not as popular in MMA because you can fake a leg kick to draw out a check from your opponent and then shift forward into a takedown attempt and catch your opponent on one leg. It's pretty difficult to defend a takedown on one leg

      Undoubtedly. After facing Rick Roufus (and we all know the end he met) I think Thais could kneecap all the no-lowkick practitioners with minimum effort. Maybe he didn't that for a sense of humanity, also being aware of the opponent's inferiority from a technical point of view..who knows

      @@horacegored3023 Yes its true , when a Thai see that his opponent is very inferior to him or that if he wanted could capitalize on its weaknesses to the point where the fight would be over he just stop .

Alexio would of put him cold and limp if he just stood and let Dennis fire on him like that. I know people will say well what about the leg kicks and I say to that.
