    instructive video indeed !! does this dell pc come out of factory without a dvd drive ? mine which i bought second hand doesn't have one !!!

      Yes, adding a DVD drive to the system would have been an option when originally configuring from Dell. Getting a system like this without the optical drive would’ve saved money at initial purchase.

    is it possible to remove the cpu or is it fixed to the board?

    • @BlindMansRevenge2002
      @BlindMansRevenge2002 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the latitude E 5440 the CPU is soldered to the motherboard. The only way to remove it will be to place it in a hot air re-workstation and D solder the CPU from the motherboard. This is not recommended. If you want to upgrade the CPU you will need to upgrade the motherboard that has the upgraded CPU already on it. It is crucial to match the motherboard with the CPU to the type of graphics that your model came with for example Intel core I seven with Intel graphics only or Intel core I seven with discrete graphics

    I've done all this correctly and built it back up together, but now it won't turn on, fan won't spin, and it turns off after like 5-7 secs. I made sure to connect everything back together properly and avoided touching on components.. help!!

      Clean processor fan and reconnect it again if not contact a service center

      In case you have not been able to resolve your issue you may need to go back through and clean the male and female ends of all the connection points with isopropyl alcohol and then air dry them with a can of compressed air. For some reason skin oils can disrupt the conductivity or more precisely the electrical conductivity between the components. Also, make sure that you are reconnecting everything precisely. If one ribbon cable is slightly askew the system will not pass it’s pre-boot start up diagnostic. That is why the System is turning on and then back off. It is detecting an over voltage or under voltage and shutting itself down to protect the motherboard.
