I cannot believe how BAD replacement parts are nowadays. Your first issue with the power valve I think borders on fraud to be honest BUT the water pump failing after only a few months is criminal. I remember my original 390 Mustang when I was 17 that if you replaced a water pump it lasted YEARS.. as did alternators or batteries, today most parts are crap because they can get away with it. Case in point, I have a 2019 F150 that shuts off (on purpose) when at a red light ( i can bypass that) BUT the key is that the starter now needs to start the car 20 - 30 times a day rather than 2 or 3. So I investigated and Ford said they engineered the starter to last for so many cycles. SO...... they CAN build shit to last if they want to ..they just do not want to so they can sell you the same part multiple times over the life of the car. I feel your pain
Thanks for the commiseration Wally. I’m getting rather annoyed at having to replace new parts. I knew the water pump had a porosity problem but thought I’d come up with a work around. Turns out I’m not as clever as I thought I was. Still hoping to drive her back east to visit you folks.
@@donsmanufactory HOw about half way as that is a LONG drive one way. lets see how the summer goes. AS far as parts , it is NOT just the parts , it is the labour and time spent as well
@@68mustangrestoration34 - I have relatives in Ohio so I’m planning on visiting them as well. Hoping to combinepurposes. The power tour is another I’d like to squeeze in.
The blue Holly gaskets are supposed to be reusable.but after a few years they lose their reusable ability. Lol. the sub par parts is something I deal with almost every day. Explain that to a customer .

The fuel evaporates through the vent tubes.
Thanks Mr Stang Barn,
Oh yeah but a fella can tell when the fuel goes away too quickly. Or, it’s flooded when starting hours later etc.
