    当時ボクは中学二年生の時に人生初めて行ったロックコンサートだった。2階席の後ろでしっかりと見ていた。
    ロック好きの友人となにもわからず武道館のユーライアヒープを目の当たりにしてぶっ飛んだ時の映像が残っているとは、そしてそれを50年ぷりに見られるとは思いもよらなかった。
    今となっては歴史に残る最高のコンサートだった。

    Wow! This is great! I was there at Budokan! Uriah Heep (David Byron era) is my favorite hard rock band! The Japanese audience back in 1973 was so shy and reserved, and the security being pretty tight, that they sat down and listened to the show throughout the main set. So towards the end of the set, David Byron encouraged people to stand up and enjoy the show. And finally we all stood up, and the real party began.

    • @russellhueners8499
      @russellhueners8499 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Security is tight, understatement, saw Kiss in 77,78 at the Budokan, no standing, no lighters, no crazyness, man it was the place to see a concert, Cheap Trick, ELO, Fleetwood Mack, Japanese audience are the best. Byron looks out of it here, he is great when he is on, this was disappointing.

    Great example of how great 70s shows were. Sweaty venues, loud sound, drunk band members. Saw them twice in Newcastle in the 70s, both fantastic nights.

    David Byron is in the top four rock singers of all time. Mercury, Gillian, Dio and Byron. So said the man drunk his self to death and died in his mid thirties. They had to kick him out of the band and they have never been the same. His replacement is as close as you can get I guess but he doesn't sing it naturally because if your going to replace David the songs just have to sound like David singing. I loved this Album when I was 11 years old I spent all my Newspaper money on album's and my sister took me to my first concert at 11. She was 5 years older than me. It was Johnny Winter and Bob Seagar was the first band and Wet Willie the second. I saw Seager twice before he really made it and he was ok but REO blew him off the stage. That was when REO still was a rock band not a Barry Manilow sounding garbage High Infidelity.

      Kurt Sherrick-I remember that the Rock music magazines said, at the time, that Ken Hensley gave the other band members the choice of firing David Byron or that HE was leaving. He said that he couldn't deal with Byron's drunken, inconsistent behavior any longer. So they fired David. You are right about Uriah Heep, they were never the band that they had been. Gary Thain's departure and death had been rough, but without the signature voice, they sounded like something besides Uriah Heep.The lineup of Byron, Box, Thain, Kerslake and Hensley, with Byron's one of a kind voice, Box's unique guitar sound and Thain's bass work, created a group that more than held it's own with great groups like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and others popular at the time.

      @@lawrencearansaspasstx4374 You mentioned my four favorite bands. I was captivated by Deep Purple and In Rock first. They will always be my number one. Uriaheep with Byron were Poets. Their Lyrics and backing vocal parts were unique and went with the Purple idea of Classical music incorporated. Hensley said his influence was Jon Lord in creating Salisbury a wonderful Concept Album. Musically probably the only Band per Instrument and vocals that were maybe Deep Purples equal. So much talent in those two bands in the early seventies. I wore those albums out on my GE Wildcat Stereo with my headphones on. I was hooked at 9 years old. Our of those four Zeppelin is my least favourite but number 4 is good in my mind. They were the Masters of Hard Rock. Heep were the best lyricist out of those four.

      @@99hotairbaloons I disagree. I once was front row for CSN in 2010. Someone was badly off-key much of the show.
      I'm one of those who darts across the venue to leap onto oncoming feedback before the board even registers it. But it didn't bother me. YES, it would've been better if they were in key.
      But they had the best sound I've ever heard. Louisville, KY.
      They were also very good showmen, considering they don't leap around all over the place.
      Drive out 6 hours to see a band in off-beat places for cheap, my advice. And you get better seats, too.
      Not easy to get that good of sound that close, either.

    Uriah Heep were a very English hard rock band that weren't heavy metal but often sounded similar to Deep Purple and were lumped in with the pre-metal prog scene. They rocked hard with more than a few great songs and a huge following but little chart success. (Same can be said for Led Zep and King Crimson, so no shame there!!) So sad that such a great singer left us so early in his life. Remarkable voice, David Byron and Ian Gillan were the greatest voices in rock.

    武道館がちゃんと3階まで埋まってるのはバンドの勢いを証明しているな。デヴィッド・バイロンのステージパフォーマンスはかっこいいのかどうか微妙な気がするが(笑)、イギリス独特のどこか内向的な雰囲気を感じ、個人的にはこれもあり。
