Brilliantly explosive progressive rock track by the great great great Uriah Heep.. How, it captures the wild mood of the 70's but, equally reserves high acclaim and position in the 21st century...
Uriah Heep at their best. This song is deeply engraved into my brain. People will listen to such songs even centuries to come. Rock music on that quality level has stand the test of time. I feel so blessed that I was growing up with the music of the 60s and 70s. For my generation this music meant so much, it was a cultural and spiritual revolution. There was the feeling of a whole generation that there could be a better world ...
Recorded live in Birmingham. I shouted gypsy about ten times in between songs. Amazed when they used it on the album. My only claim to fame. Still got the program.

July Morning...

Gypsies came from India to Europe in the Dark Ages. With them they brought knowledge of the third eye and how to use a crystal ball. So did the Three wise men when they left India to be blessed by the baby Jesus. The Gypsies were persecuted by some Christians. But now we are out of the Dark Ages. The ancient truths are being revealed again.

I like the way you put that, Phil! Scary thing is ... I know the gear you are referencing. Keyboardist/guitarist here. I had the pleasure of meeting KH when he lived here in St. Louis for a time. He was working on some new songs and had some rough-cut recordings he shared with us. Honestly... the only lyric I can recall was something like ... "Let me be me ... simple and free." Not sure if he ever did anything with that song or not. It was pretty cool though for this twenty-something 'kid'. Nice rock & roll memory.
