@@_.Michael.Cordova._ Thanks for pointing out the obvious. It still doesn't make it any good. Audiences would choose the original over acoustic if they had the choice. Except for for the obtuse.

A beautiful version of a great song. This, and True Colours amongst my most favourites. Miles Davis must have liked it a lot as well, to cover it so well instrumentally.
Blown away... Cyndi Lauper playing the dulcimer... Takes my breath away... I always loved this song... What a wonderful musician.. what a wonderful singer... so lovely...
They sure were! We had the best time and the music is still superior, in my opinion. We had a little bit of every genre going on and all of it was great.
The 80s were awesome. I was lucky to survive those days. But, God had plans for me, and still does. I'm a healthy happy Grandpa now. And I walk with the Lord, not a 20 something wildman making big money and wearing custom made suites carrying around alot of cash with fast cars and, well, fast everything. I'm blessed. I now enjoy gardening, grandkids, garage sales, and in the winter occasionally watch Miami Vice reruns. It's funny how time changes you.
I met Cyndi in Tempe, AZ, in the mid-80's. While she was in town, I escorted her around and protected her anonymity. She was so kind and gracious. I thoroughly enjoyed spending these hours with her and being granted the privilege of getting to know her on a personal level. She even told her crew that I had a nice @#$! She was funny, thoughtful, and engaging, which is absolutely reflected in her music. I am so pleased to see that she is doing well.
I am so impressed by Cindy Laupers, Re-emergence of Re-Imagined Vocals, and Effervescent instrumental Sound arrangements, it is a Creative immersion of Reminiscent Nostalgia of Time After Time.... She is Amazing, Ageless, and still contributing Exceptional Musical Talent.
Does anybody remember “M tv”when they actually played music videos… sittin around and watching these AWSOME videos with real friends. Thank God he put me here when he did.
I remember when MTV hit the air with Video Killed the Radio Star. You are so right. Some of the best memories of my late teens are with friends watching these amazing videos......sometimes chilling together for an hour or so just to catch our favorite video. Kids these days don't have a clue what that was like in this age of instant gratification
Wow! I didn’t know she did this until now! You can’t go wrong on either version. But I’m blown away by this performance.just absolutely stunning! Thank you cyndi for doing this! 🔥🤠
FYI in addition to starting to play dulcimer about 15 years ago, one of the reasons her style changed is that she learned how to take care of her voice. She was encouraged to sing outside her range when she was younger, and sounded great doing it. But it almost ended her career. She’s able to emote a lot more in her natural register.
That is the loveliest I have ever seen Cyndi, such passion in her singing and songs. I have adored her since the 80s when we were both so young ...she just gets better in every way....such a lovely woman.
One of the most spiritual songs and moving songs we will ever hear. If you get the chills listening to it, I’ve heard Cyndi say that’s exactly what she was going for.
Within the first four bars if this song, my eyes well up and I’m left having difficulty seeing the video clearly. She’s a unique and heaven sent voice. No fancy production orchestration required…just pure Cindy and her heartfelt emotion. ❤
I totally agree, not just because you're saying what I think, because you're absolutely correct! It's such a beautiful intimate portrait of the song we grew up with. Only the original artist can make me believe every word during this performance...and that she did❤

Cyndi is one of a small group of female artists with a voice that stands the test of time. Dolly, Reba, Patsy, Loretta, Diana Ross. They all gave us so much!

So true. I'm 30 YO and the concerts I've seen are people like Heart, Joan Jett, Stevie Nicks...natural artists with real talent.
