My first speeding fine was by a VX Commodore. Back when they had Xenon D-Lights mounted on the dashboard for unmarked cars. Lots of people in the Sydney street racing community who couldn't afford a Skyline, got a VL Turbo.
They went faster than 200 n/a & 220 turbo... I've owned 5 VL's all stock 4 of them being the RB20 which was the most popular in NZ, 2 litre version of the 6 cylinder... I maxed my auto berlina wagon at 200 which was as high as the VL speedo would go... 3 litre owners could wind there's off the clock so I'm sure the turbo would better that...😉
The lady just told him “the rb30 turbo” then he said the “rb32 turbo”. Think the bloke was a bit nervous. Good job by the couple in looking after it and bring it back to original shape
