I had a 5 speed manual 1987 modem VL Turbo, as a p plater. Good memories 😂
The Walkinshaw 16 x 7 wheels, gives the VL that classic look & it’s a good upgrade 👍🏻

We see (or used to see about 20+ years ago) the same stuff here, but without the turbo as Opels.
You'll probably see not even one if you were to drive across country.

This will keep you busy for sure and enjoy the Nats. It's definitely an eye opener of what blood sweat and tears can do. All the workshops and garage build are spectacular.
Went to RedCentre Nats and Rocky Nats this year and had a ball at both.

I'm supposed to be flying up there from Adelaide to buy it and if its that one I wanna know what im going up for lol, the photos and videos looked killer. With people putting Chev badges on VE/F, why don’t the VL Turbo’s have NISSAN badges?
Because Holden hit so hard from the start about Nissan not being too involved with it.
It's why we got GTS 1 and GTS 2 couple kws shy of a turbo but naturally aspirated due to Holden making them sign a contract they'd never sell a turbo 31 in Australia.
Holden had chev badge factory options 😂
@@hayden6056 Chev badges for the VL? I didn’t know that. My point was that the VE was the first fully Aussie engineered Commodore but it has a Chev motor, and idiots go with the one thing that isn’t Australian, the motor, and stick Chev badges on it. So using that philosophy, the VL was Australian, with a Nissan motor, but i don’t ever remember anyone putting Nissan badges on it. I guess Nissan isn’t cool.
@@steyer-crmg chev badges weren't on the vl they were an Aussie motor and non export model. The opel was based on different pillars and didn't use the RB. Most times I've ever seen a bow tie on a Commodore is vy+.
You can order a GM part number of those Chevy grills due to the exportation of those models to the middle east. Then the Americas with the ve.
Only other time I've seen bow ties on Holden's were 327 and 350 h series. Really popular mod back in the day and a lot of it was due to in house rivalry between whether the 308 and 253 tame Pontiac rip off vs the almighty sbc.
Was never arguing the stupidity of these badges , definitely don't understand it.
May as well throw a fuckin Saab badge on it. GM motors have been corporate since 87/emissions/fuel economy couldn't me improved any further on previous housed motors .
An LS is no more a chev than a Holden , Pontiac or others. Yes the corvette got it the first year only but what do you expect for the company's flagship model.
Who wants to bet it'd be a Pontiac motor if GM hadn't decided to originally use the Corvette as a Chevrolet flagship rather than a Pontiac Beca they thought the Pontiac fan base was too into the luxuries provided by them to buy an all sports car.
@@steyer-crmg also ve wasn't fully designed here , the alloytec and LS were both engineered in foreign countries.
Also the Germans had a lot more to do with the engineering than Holden let us to believe.
Don't forget the the ve was the last over the trenches assault for Holden. Their was lots of propaganda trying to have the government and people bail them out further than they already had.
