You definitely need to check out Alter Bridge- Words Darker than their Wings! It's a conversation between the lead vocalists Myles Kennedy and the lead guitarist Mark Tremonti about faith. Myles was having a tough time believing after his dad passed away and Mark is saying dont lose hope maybe theres something out there ! They even sing back and forth to each other like they're having the conversation!

Blackbird is amazing. So also is Words Darker Than Their Wings, a sort of conversation about faith between guitarist Mark Tremonti and lead singer Myles Kennedy.
I'm a fan of Alter Bridge. All their songs are deep, inspiring, emotional. Great band with humble guys.
Alter Bridge has so many songs that are about taking something that many perceive as negative and turn it into positivity.
Another example of this is the song Wonderful Life. It's about a couple that one of them is about to pass away or has just passed away and the other is consoling them and talking about a wonderful life that they had together.
Alter Bridge can go hard, but they are such a positive influence.
As everyone else has said, Blackbird is a must. It is an epic song, and will tear at your emotions. It also features the best double guitar solo in rock history. Enjoy!

This song is an underrated gem. Most people are suggesting Blackbird; but I would actually suggest Watch over You (the acoustic Billboard version). softer songs like this one and the one I have suggested aren't normally what they do but the emotion in the singers' (Myles Kennedy) voice is what makes it so spectacular for me.
In regards to religion, I am personally not religious but I respect those who are. Myles Kennedy was raised in a Christian Scientist household. His dad died when Myles was 4 (due to not seeking medical treatment- because of his religion)... and throughout Myles' career, he has expressed his inner struggle with coming to terms with religion and his father's death. If you are interested, Words Darker than their Wings (Live at the Royal Albert Hall) is the song that really explores his conflicts (and it is partly sung by the lead guitarist Mark Tremonti). I try to keep up with AB reactions but somehow yours slipped through the cracks so I apologise for not seeing this sooner. Great reaction btw!

I can respect your faith in God, as long as you can respect my Atheism. Being an Atheist doesn't mean I'm a bad dude, just that I think/believe different things than you. Mutual respect is key, and too many religious people (and a fair number of Atheists, if I'm honest) don't understand that. So, much respect for my man Billy.
@Will G1986 I'm glad I took the time to read all that, you've had quite the career it seems, and I for one thank you for your service. I'm disabled as well, though in my case it's simple, mundane poor health that has sidelined me. I'm fortunate in that I've received little backlash in my personal life from my Atheism- I had rather secular upbringing, and was allowed to explore matters of faith on my own terms. I explored both Christianity and Judaism, joining Church/Synagogue communities and attending services in both cases, and I read up on others including Islam and Buddhism. You could say I've searched, but never found. Critical thinking and science did me in I suppose, heh.

Oh man, Blackbird (Studio Version). Words Darker Than Their Wings (Live at Royal Albert Hall), In Loving Memory (Live from Amsterdam), Cry of Achilles, Calm the Fire, Clear Horizon, Slip to the Void...like ALL of their albums are awesome. They just released album six - Walk the Sky - this song, All Ends Well, is on their fourth album - Fortress.
Other songs of theirs that are in the same vein as this song would be stuff like - Life Must Go On, My Champion, Brand New Start, Open Your Eyes, Dying Light
Blackbird!!!!! Easily their greatest song!!! The solo is also currently ranked greatest guitar solo of all time.
They have tons of really good song. If I had to choose I would say react to Cry of Achilles, Blackbird, Watch Over You, One Day Remains, Open Your Eyes, and many many more.
Also, Alter Bridge is Creed with a new (way more badass) singer (Myles Kennedy). They've completely changed their sound from Creed and it's just the greatest.

I'm not going lie this song at the middle to end part got me a little emotional because I have been through things that a normal person shouldn't go through. Also I started my TH-cam channel a year ago, and I went through the same difficulty as Billy mentioned in the video. I honestly thought it was hopeless but the day that hope, faith, and patience came to me, I leaned on those principles and it got me to where I am at today. I may not be making the big bucks or be one of the most trendy or popular TH-camrs, but I do enough to make it enjoyable of making a living of it one day and I love what I do. Thank you for showing us this Billy.
