One of the greatest songs ever written. I used it 6 years ago this July at my mother's funeral. There wasn't a dry eye in the church.

Nothing wrong with showing your emotions to a masterpiece and it made me so happy to hear you review this one Fil, thank you, I was crying again within the first 10 seconds as I had this record played at my Mum's funeral last month and had some of the lyrics from it tattooed on my arm in tribute to her 🖤. AB are a one of a kind band but Myles is an absolute superstar in my eyes. I heard somewhere over the years that Mark wrote the lyric a number of years ago after his mom died and recorded the vocal himself but it didn't sound how he imagined it so he shelved it. Then when he linked up with Myles he asked him to see what he could do with it and this is the result. With Myles's incredible vocals it just takes it to another level of feelings but you can just see how it affects Mark at 8.28 when the crowd really ramps up their singing and I can only imagine how hard that was for him. to play this live. I've met Myles on a couple of occasion when he's been touring with Slash and he is a true gentleman - a very special man and their tracks are well worth a listen too if you want to dig into them - try Anastasia, Back from Cali, Far & Away and Starlight (my absolute fav song of all time!)

This is one of my favorite performances and songs EVER. My Dad dies almost 2 years ago and every morning I say good morning to my Dad and play and sing with Myles. Lol. When I saw that you reacted to one of my favorite bands I had to watch this and now I found a new favorite reactor. You had me in tears. Now I have to go watch more of your reactions! I will be sharing you with my friends, hope you don't mind! I see you love Blue October, another one of my favorite humans in this world. Justin had been through it and back and I'm so proud of his journey...he definitely is my inspiration that's for sure.

Alter Bridge's Amsterdam concert is one of the best live shows you will ever see. Myles is on point and the band as always blows the roof off. Since you have already done Blackbird the studio version I would Highly recommend the live version from the Amsterdam concert. Spoiler its better than the studio version. We played this at my oldest sons funeral in 2006 he was 19yrs.old..shot and killed by my ex husband😔❤🌹
This has been one of my favorite Alter Bridge songs for years, YEARS. In March, I lost my Mom after a 17-year battle with a heart condition. This song, along with Watch Over You, Wonderful Life, and Blackbird have all helped me heal, helped me grieve over the past 6 months.

4 years ago my husband passed suddenly at 50 and the song I played for him was Charlie Puth TIL I see you again ( no rap version) I could hear behind me all my older uncles and his family as well crying out loud, we all broke over it but I think there needs to be a special fitting song at anyone's funeral so people are allowed to cry openly just for a simple reason that it's a horrible sad fucking thing when you lose someone you love. Its not healthy to bottle up pain of that magnitude and people bond over sharing loss. I'll never recover from that one even if I move on his loss will hurt me forever. RIP my sweet Len McKenna. 21 years together were not nearly enough. See you in heaven my Angel. I love you and I'm so sad without you. Thanks for finally getting around to this Fil! I requested this, but I'm sure many others did as well. I am so glad you did the live version! You said it exactly right, you can just feel something about it by watching the live version. This was already one of my all-time favorite songs before. Then my mom lost her battle with ALS last year, this song is now more special and holds an extra place in my heart for her! This was the first AB song I ever heard and now you know why I've been hooked ever since. This song got me through when my best friend passed away at only 19 years old so I take any opportunity I can to listen to it.

man, alterbridge is my favourite band of all time, was lucky to see them live three times, and I can tell you it’s just an unreal experience! I lost both of my parents close to each other, and this was the song I used at the end of their funeral.
A request for you though, if you haven’t, check out alterbridges - words darker than their wings live at the royal Albert hall, I was there, and man, myles can hit some insane high notes. Love the vid man!
I noticed that you mentioned watching either live or studio? There is a song by them that was changed by somebody so that the live orchestra they played with was in the background, but they replaced the live Alter Bridge performance with the studio one.
It's a song from the Blackbird album called Before Tomorrow Comes, and you can find the studio version with live orchestra in one of the top 5 or so searches, you might enjoy that as a change?

But make sure those are ALBUM VERSIONS because there isn't any good live ones those and the Wonderful Lifes live is only part of the song. So make sure they're all album. Thanks man!

Myles lost his dad at the age of 4. I think that’s why he is so genuine.

Alter Bridge - My Champion (this song is perfect for you, plus the video fits your channel like any other on the planet :D). You gotta check Myles Kennedy solo work aswell, songs like 'Ghosts of Shangri La' or 'Love Can Only Heal' from "Year of the TIger" album will blow your mind. Entire record is almost a concept one, each song from no. 1 to no. 12 tells a story about Myles getting through the loss of his father when he was just a child... And it's almost entirely acoustic, with some steel guitar here and there, few solos on an electric, and that's it. Not to mention he recorded almost 50 songs with motherfreakin' Slash! If you need any hints 'bout that, just reply ;) 'Starlight' was the very first song they did together, go with studio version ;)
