I still find it hard to believe that they are not more popular in North America. Over in Europe they are huge and often are the 2nd or 3rd billing at many of the major festivals.
I live in the States, and I am equally baffled.
I think because people stuck with Creed
The difference in the guitar solos is more evident in Blackbird and you can obviously see it in live performances. In Blackbird, Myles style is more blues yang emotive, where as Mark is more fiery and technical, but also emotive in its own right. You notice Myles style especially in the outro lead part when he is making the guitar weep and cry. One great thing about the guitar solos in Alter Bridge is how well the fit the song. It’s not just some random flurry of notes, but always adding to the song, like an extension of the vocal melodies, etc.
Miles can write a damn song. He’s such a great writer.
Almost all Alter Bridge is good to great. It's what happens when you pair an already amazing band with an amazing guitarist/vocalist, but seriously...their first two albums are where it's at.
I would say their best work ranges from Blackbird to Fortress imo
First 5 albums IMO are all great front to back (yes TLH has snuck in for me lately - amazing kick ass songs all the way through 👍).
I have high hopes for the new Pawns and Kings based on the totle track just released 2022!
Yes this solo has 4 parts. Mark. Myles, mark and then Myles finishes it off. Mark plays the faster speedy stuff and Myles plays the more jazzy drawn out notes. In this one you can hear the different guitar tones because they are playing in separate tunings.
Never listened, seen, experienced "Words darker than their wings" live @ The Royal Albert Hall? Wooooow, then you missed one of the greatest Rocksongs ever played LLLLLIIIIIIIIIVVVVVEEEE.
Such a bad ass song! Id recommend open Addicted to pain, in loving memory, shed my skin, or wonderful life next! So many good songs!
Lyrics and music wise, Alter Bridge are the most valuable asset we have

To me, the absolute best Myles song is Summergirl from one of his earlier bands the Mayfield Four. A beautiful, emotive song with an INSANE 20sec+ high note. I 'highly' recommend it and am sure you will love it!

That song was something else man, probably you know the story but it was the first song he did with slash that helped creating an amazing band with a really long name 😂
