Super happy with my Cushcore! Wouldn’t go without it. Running it front and rear. It quiets the chatter and has saved my day countless times. My rims are lasting waaaay longer. I’m more confident. Only flatted once in the 6 months I’ve had it!
Man I thought my CushCore was starting to look a bit beat up! It has definitely saved my tires and rims more than once. Strangely on mine most of the dings are on one side. Must have a favourite rock I bounce off (looking at you rock garden at the bottom of Canyon DH).
I will never ride without it again. I’m heavy so I have it front and back. Saves my rims when I launch into rock gardens. I run 28 psi now, never used to be able to run that low.
The insert needs to be tight if you want it to reduce squirm. Stretching the CC out before installing it will make tire changes easier but you loose some of the locked in feeling.
Lyndon Rush it retracts back to its standard tightness, over 18 or so monts its become a little looser than brand new but still is tight enough to have full tension around the rim
Hey Telly will you please keep us updated on your aggressor tire repair?!?! Ive done the same thing to one of my e13 trsr mopo tires which are pretty expensive. I've used a park tool VP-1 tire patch kit which uses the vulcanizing fluid i guess as the adhesive. i haven't yet tried it because im running the michelins now but eventually will put it back on. would be great to find a solid solution to problems like this.
my only negative (not even that bad) with cush cores is the green valve stems. tried to use other stems as a test and you cant let air out with the core straight against the hole :/ apart from that there rad. I have em front and rear and like it simply because it eliminates the "OH SHIT MY RIMS" when you bonk a rock. rode out on a rear going flat the other day that other wise would have been a long walk back to the car.
Max Knechtel hard to say yet. Dh tyre less likely to cut and flat, but i’d say a little less protection for the rim without the cushcore. The Highroller2 maxxgrip out back felt very sluggish, so much so that I took it off after 1 ride. The DHR2 maxxgrip feels much faster and similar to the aggressor for climbing speed. Descending it feels excellent all over, great back tyre
Hi MTB Telly! thanks for all your videos out there. Off topic from this video, but I'm looking to purchase elbow gaurds for my bf, and I know you have great review videos on a few. I don't know much about mtb, but do you think you can recommend any elbow pad products? I'm between the Fox Launch Pro elbow and Dakine Slayer Elbow... Thank you for your time and help!
Let me ask you this; why on Earth would anyone squirm a DD tire? Unless you weigh 500 lbs and you're cornering 500 mph! Geeze! Good review 👍👍 ,keep up the good work.
If you want to fix a tubeless tyre use something like these. www.ebay.co.uk/p/1788610638 you can even fix holes right by the bead. You can use rubber cement or super glue. You're right about super glue being too hard, but as the plug holds them in place the sealant will sort any issues. I've been running CushCore for two and a half years and its still going strong.
I have it in both tires. It does more than protect the rim and tire, it’s like adding volume spacers and rebound dampening to your tires. It’s more valuable in the rear but I’d run it front and rear to keep the balance.
Felipe Farias i have tried it in the front, but i Dont see it worth the extra weight. My front rarely cops any damage so I’m not fussed on putting extra protection there.
Have you tried vittoria airliner or maybe heard something about it? I am about to buy a tire insert since I have destroyed my almost new rim lately and don't wanna it to happen again. In my country cushcore is about 105 USD when vittoria is 70USD so the difference in price is quite big.
Scruffy the Cushcore is the standard for protection. The Vittoria seems killer, I was pretty hyped on it when it first came out but never got my hands on one. The only thing I dislike with the vittoria, is they say to connect it using the zip tie provided. Definitely don’t use a zip tie as it creates shapr edges within the tyre which can cut your rim tape or tyre on the right impact. Then you’re cactus. I’d use a piece of shoelace and tie the ends of the insert together, putting hard plastic in your tyre makes no sense

Zac Martines thats killer

Warren B. Nice! Got you some killer grip out of it then 👌🏽👌🏽
MTB Telly felt like a new bike. So cushy and grip for days!!
Probably the best new product on the MTB market, after the dropper.

Jonathan Angieri yep can do ✌🏼

Lewis brown its the perfect rim protection hey
Nice review! Low tire pressure squirm is the worst...I don't get how people ride such low psi
The North Shore MTB yeah I’m with you. I want my tyres trustworthy and responsive
did u try huck norris ? its more than 2x lighter and is also made to protect rims and tires
Any updates....still running cushcore?
Hey dude solid channel. I live in eastern Canada where the terrain I ride is like 180 degrees from you but you know your shit
Hey dude cheers!
What are your thoughts on Cushcore vs a DH casing tire? Shouldn't be much between them in terms of weight.

I usually rotate front to back to make
Them last a little bit longer

Thoughts on the Cushcore vs your DIY pipe insulation insert?
Cushcore is definitely more protective. The home job worked well but not the same level as a cushcore

raheem gahel my DDs squirm pretty hard at 23-24rear on a 27.5. Feel great in a straight line but!
Do you feel like cushcores slowed down you acceleration ?
DUSTIN B. JOHNSON not really. Theres a little bit there due to the extra weight, but its not enough for me to consider going without it

any thought on the cushcore on the front?

@felipe Farias cushcore front definitely worthy on Ebikes specially if running plus size tyres. Reduces squirm.

Can you do a video on your thoughts on Carbon Rims vs Aluminium Rims for rough riding.
I’ll have to test some carbon wheels before I can comment too much. I’ll see what I can wrangle up
