  • The last of my videos from Vex Turning Point. RIP Turning Point. You will be missed. At least we have Stack Attack.
    Yes, I know I misspelled Hex Keys. Fight Me.
    Thanks to the whole team for such an amazing season, I couldn't have done it without you guys.

    For the ratchet on a high strength axle is you can drill out the middle and screw it on to a gear. That is what we did on our robot and it worked surprisingly well!

    Hi, idk if ur the coder for your team or not, but I'd like to know how you implemented the vision sensor into your robot. I'm relatively new to coding as the old coder for my team left last year so I'm trying to learn how to implement competitive coding techniques into a bot. Thanks!

    I like what you said at 4:30. After state we did a us open/worlds rebuild from a single flywheel to an angle adjusting puncher. The puncher could double shot in about a half a second and the drivetrain was geared for 270rpm. We decided to use our old single flywheel robot a couple days before the us open because the puncher required a brand new driving style that I couldn't master in 2 weeks and it just had too many little issues. We ended up doing really well at the us open but not to great at worlds though. Good luck in tower takeover!

    Maybe I missed something, what was the purpose of the brake? Did it keep your robot from moving when firing the catapult, or was it purely to keep from being pushed around?

    • @KeplerElectronics
      @KeplerElectronics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Purely to keep from being pushed around during the climbing portion.
      It would have worked better if it were centered on the robot, so it would push all the wheels off the ground, but it worked pretty well as-is.

      Comments are fine, this bot is old and has been since disassembled, so I don’t mind sharing it here in the comments.

      Yep. I've been working on a new robot, but It's going to be a while before its done. I want to make the robot a truly amazing bot.

    What is the weight of robot

    • @KeplerElectronics
      @KeplerElectronics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t have the figures offhand, but most vex competition robots weigh between 15 lbs and 30lbs. This one was both mostly aluminum and pretty hollow, so closer to the 15 lb Mark seems like a safe bet

    i think i misunderstood. is it a solo or double cata? seems to me like it can shoot 2 balls

    • @KeplerElectronics
      @KeplerElectronics  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was a double catapult that could shoot two balls, but we changed the stop location, which made us unable to shoot two balls (the arcs didn't line up anymore), but allowed us to shoot a single ball from a variety of locations.

    • @baaz6968
      @baaz6968 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      idk imo the range isn't worth it, double shots, no matter how slow, is probably better. our bot is a puncher and we gave up long shots for faster draw time and something else that would take too long to explain. but long shots aren't very good because you can't contest double shots that are in the front area so all the double catas and flywheels are getting free double shots. In our experience, you will run out of balls to shoot. At worlds, I saw a lot of teams lose going for longshots and just getting ball starved. longshots are also very easy to miss in driver and programming. idk but one thing that longshots are really good at is paradoxically contesting caps in the beginning of a match. you can have a 6 flag auton then stack caps while your partner defends flags. stack a cap then shoot, stack a cap then shoot. Once you have like 4 caps stacked just go back to front and do flags. back auton snipes are also really good
