20:43 I'm quite intrigued by what Yugopnik touched on, about how the left could be an alternate source of empowerment for people that would otherwise be appealed by the alt-right. Hopefully our movement can recognize this and help said young disillusioned men, and tell them that they don't need to live in a kill-or-be-killed society.

This is what I wanted to comment on as well. I remember when I was a young man, I felt like the right were the only ones who cared about me or my success. All I heard about from the left was "women this, minorities that" and nothing about how the left would help me who was also struggling massively despite being a white man. I had to find that out myself when the facts were not adding up, and most people don't do that.
IMO, the left needs to get better at pivoting the conversation from the (yes very important) intersectional issues of race, sexuality and gender to how those tie in to the wider issues. I know we love to chant about fragile white males, but at the end of the day we need a significant amount of them to also support left wing policies if they are to ever get enacted.

As a disabled man who finally moved from being a Venus Project supporter to switching the ML I thank you for saying that we aren't a bad thing for the movement. A lot of people tell me the only reason I'm a socialist or like Marxism is because of my disability but it was my dad who served in our military then came home to be spat on and hated after Vietnam. Who then worked his entire life in construction and eventually for the city as a cad designer. Then when he retired and got cancer he went bankrupt 3 separate times and we lost everything that is what really radicalized me. I've been angry at capitalism for so long because the American dream is an American nightmare for most of us and I've seen this on repeat with many family and friends. I don't know a single person who actually owns a house who hasn't stepped on everyone around them to get ahead.

I relate to this one. I’m a disabled trans man, and pretty much every man in my family for 3-4
Generations served in the US military. They sold their souls and never saw a single benefit from it. Every person close to me in my life is disabled, poor, or grew up poor and it’s impossible for me to find a single positive aspect in this system, when there aren’t any. I just never had enough hope to ever become disillusioned.
Also, shout out to disabled masculinity, it’s cool as fuck. Nothing is more badass than the sheer perseverance it takes to be in pain, constantly beaten down, or having to start over from scratch, and still carrying on. Being disabled is fucking hard sometimes, and it definitely deserves to be better recognized. (Also Seriously, what’s cooler than a good mobility aid. Like electric wheelchairs? Fucking awesome)

The whole "white (race)" thing makes no sense at all. Obviously because there isn't really any race other than the human race. Though that didn't stop silly Europeans from conjuring up silly race labels (so yes, systemic racism is a thing). Elsewhere they had other views. I was just reading a book on the history of South East Asia around 1500 and there it describes that:
    - Chinese, Persians and Europeans where all just a different shades of pale coloured people
    - - Before 1500 the first handful of Europeans to visit (SE) Asia joined up with Persian merchants, and from the SE Asian point of view Portugese and Persians didn't look that much different besides a different shade of paleness.
    - Birmese called the first Portuguese "Kala-pyu", basically "white Indians" (Asian sea travels had already brought people from modern day India and Birma etc into contact with each other).
    - When European merchants sailed to SE Asia they would attack Persian/Muslim merchants, these would mention to the SE Asians about the attacks by these Franks (Arabic: Faranj), which became Feringgi in Malay, Farang in Thai, Barang in Khmer etc.
TLDR: from the South East Asian point of view some 500 years ago Hakim, Yugopnik and JT are all basically more or less the same pale/white folks. And no, that is nothing to be proud of, lol.

The way I had heard the origins, "Honkey" is a reference to plantation foremen that would ride through fields honking horns at the workers and "Cracker" is a reference to people who would crack the the whips on the slaves. If this is correct, it means any angry caucasian equating those terms to slurs for other races/ethnicities is equating terms to demean and oppress to terms that denote someone as the oppressors.

26:57 if you really wanna know the answer to that question, literally ask yourself, why did any fascist propaganda machine get any power or influence whatsoever in the country. Usually it’s economic or political dissatisfaction. If the state is required to protect existing capital in a capitalist system that is deteriorating, it will eventually have to protect Fascism if Communism gains popularity.

Fair warning, this gets pretty off topic pretty quick, i just need to finish saying it or I’ll never get to sleep
I went through basically that exact same “insecure in my masculinity so I have to be hyper violent and militaristic about everything” BS, and then I realized I’m a girl, and I look back at all that effort spent convincing myself and everyone else that I was a “real man”… and it just makes me sad… it really sucks knowing that the most likely people to attack me for existing, are probably just projecting their own insecurities and self hatred onto me, lashing out because I remind them of all the things they won’t let themselves be/do/enjoy… and worst of all, I hate knowing that, if my experience is anything to go by, a decent therapy appointment is simultaneously the best thing they could get, both for themselves and everyone around them, and one of the few things they’d consider a fate comparable to death

  • @Indus_tree_al_action

    Revolutionary Greetings from India!
TLDR: The Indian state since 2014 has become fascistic if not completely fascist under the BJP government led by Narendra Modi. The struggling masses have resisted at every turn but the left is divided and weak. And until a strong principled ML party or alliance doesn't emerge, all these resistances will not be able uproot the fascists from Indian society - even if we are able to throw them out of government in 2024.
Amongst the Indian Left, there was a lot of debate about whether the Indian State had become Fascist or Fascistic after Narendra Modi's was elected as the Prime Minister in 2014. He belongs to the Far-right Hindu Extremist party - the BJP which is the electoral wing of the "Hindu cultural" organisation RSS which is almost 100 years old. In addition to the parliamentary wing BJP, it has wings for students, youth, women, minorities and other marginalised sections including Muslims which are their equivalent of "Jews in Europe". The RSS is fascist, and it has paramilitary wings (yes, more than one) across the country that have actively committed pogroms against Muslims, that are now regularly used as fascist foot soldiers by the BJP government to intimidate Muslims and Christians into leaving the "Hindu Nation", or accepting their status as second-class citizens, or being exterminated. Lynchings of Muslim men is an everyday thing if one considers how many go unreported. And the police always puts cases on those lynched by the fascist mobs and let's the murderers go free! This is now routine. And these fascist mobs and the armed might of the government are jointly used to police quell any popular opposition by those it considers it's enemies - progressives and leftists of all kinds, Muslims and Christians, and the Dalits.
The situation is bleak but most of the people in India are not supporters of BJP and Narendra Modi anymore, after almost 10 years of his fascist government. The struggling masses have resisted his government at every turn and paid the price for it in huge numbers. But the resistance hasn't died. However, the Indian left is very divided and weak, with Opportunism and Reformism rife, and innumerable splits along sectarian and even personal lines. Until a strong principled ML party or alliance doesn't emerge, all these resistances will not be able uproot the fascists from Indian society - even if we are able to throw them out of government in 2024.

When you're treated as an outcast, you usually join the other outcasts, and since mental health issues tend to play a role in the treatment of someone by the rest of society, it makes sense that furries would have a lot of personal problems, I can certainly say I have a ton. Also in this case I'd say the more problematic furries are not the majority, at least from my own perspective in the fanbase. Most furries I know are the kindest people I've ever met, and the ones I know tend to also lean towards socialism as well.
