Many people get annoyed by this kind of montages, but they don't even take the time to see that it claims to be an "Official RCF" video to protect their brand by having made these wonderful videos. They also don't take the time to read the description box of all the videos where it clarifies that they are edited videos used for songs and videos of original presentations of the band. But well, I'm sure that if these people were given 100,000 dollars they would also complain, enjoy Journey and these videos that fans make with all the love and respect they have for the band and other Journey fan community, as there are many people who have been left with the doubt of "How would have been the presentation of Journey with that song that is only in audio but not in video". Enjoy Journey.
Journey at their best! The one thing that struck me in this video was the fans… Kids having fun in their youth . Many are now in there 50’s and 60’s.. What a show that must have been watching Journey in their prime…..
Saw Journey multiple times including my first concert 1979 at Alpine Valley, my Sr Yr in HS. NEVER saw a live major league concert prior to this. I was in shock how GOOD Journey was and became. Steve Perry was a master stage presence. His lead in on songs was INCREDIBLE. He would spend 2-3 minutes sometimes building up to a song, then Jonathon would play the piano keys to start Dont Stop Believing, or Oh Sherrie and the place would go NUTS. Journey was So INCREDIBLE live. NOBODY moved me live than Journey did and I saw a lot of bands live. REO in they're prime, Boston, Eddie Money were INCREDIBLE bands to.
Yea but is this video real? That song was from Steve Perry’s solo album and with all the tension the band had around it would they really preform that as journey and the audio doesn’t line up
@@mikesmith-wk7vy ....... Oh my goodness!! This is a 'fan made' video, using Journey's 'Frontiers And Beyond' documentary, back in 1983!!! So yeah, the audio won't line up!...lol... However!! Steve Perry DID perform this song in 1986 with Journey! And if I remember, he also performed 'Strung Out'. However, I just can't remember if he did or not. I just know he did 'Oh Sherrie' on the Raised On Radio tour in 1986! That's why I posted what I did because, it's what I saw and remember when they were in Houston, in 1986!
@@jerik2004 ... Yes, it was a Steve Perry solo song, but he DID sing it with Journey in concert sometimes. I can attest to that personally because they played it at the show I attended on December 20th 1986 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.
This is a pretty rare video of the Band Performing "Oh Sherry" Since He released the song on his solo Album in 1984, which was after the Frontiers Tour and before the Raised on Radio Tour, the only time the Band would have performed it with Steve Perry, would have been the Raised on Radio Tour. So, although I love this tune, it does not need to be on the Bands Greatest Hits album.
@@musicman4557 this is nothing of the sort, it is just a bit of video pieces, not so creatively spliced together to make it seem like the band is performing this song. It's odd why this had to be done as the song was performed several times on the Raised on Radio Tour, this is however not one of them. Somebody has to have some video evidence of this being performed on the tour somewhere.
This video is NOT of Journey with Steve Perry singing Oh, Sherrie. The audio is from a concert in Detroit, the video (poorly edited) is from a concert in Philadelphia, and is NOT Oh, Sherrie. The audio vocals never match up with the video, fast cut edits, reuse of footage, etc. That being said, Journey with Steve Perry is the absolute best. John Bon Jovi didn't call Steve Perry "The Voice" for nothing!
They tour so much, they never give his voice a rest. Just like with Steve Perry! You can play instruments and just change it out. You can't do that with your voice. It's delicate.
I think he was pretty impressive and did a great job. As a singer of karaoke for over 31 years, I can honestly say it is nearly impossible to sound exactly like the original singer. Usually the lead singer IS the band, for without his voice it would never be that band. The good news is that the band didn't have to disappear from our view and the new singer's voice will bring good memories of Steve Perry. That alone is a good reason to see and support the band and salute the man that honors Steve's vocal talent. I bought one CD with Arnel in it. Nice to hear a familiar voice regardless of who sings it.
We are very fortunate that Arnel joined Journey after Steve Perry left, because his singing voice is very similar to Steve’s, and that is why we all love Journey!! ❤️❤️
That's because many of the people came to see Steve perform.....the band was secondary. That is why Neal is struggling today....all he has is the name "Journey"
We as Journey fans should and do know that this clip was put together with Steve's song from Street Talk. But wouldn't it have been fun to actually see the band preform it on stage together?
when you analyze it all - it was really Perry who caused the breakup by refusing to get the hip surgery. the band waited for him until they couldn't and they hired Steve Augeri. Neal Schon has always said he hopes to perform with Perry and invited him to do so at the R&R HOF and Perry declined. Perry is a very emotional man and temperamental
@@thedudeman8408 Oh be quiet! Nobody has the right to tell anybody to get hip replacement surgery. His mother had also just died, and that's a rough, hard surgery to have. Of course he was very emotional at that time. Neil was and still is a jacka$$. Now, Journey is nothing but a cover band for the "real" Journey.
@@lisalynnmarie2448 what in the hell are you talking about right to tell someone to get surgery. You have no concept of group activity have you. When you are in a band, your band mates have every right to tell you to hurry up and get your health right or we will replace you. STFU

This is amazing. A lot of work in isolation of backing track and addition of AI version of Freddys voice. I was only talking about Freddy with a friend in conjunction to Journey and Queen the other day. Love your work

Oh shut up !
Steve Perry's is rare, his voice is rare for a reason. A legend and once in a lifetime performer, artist, and writer
Couldn’t have said it any better myself
Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury are equals in my opinion. Journey and Queen will never be the same without Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury.
Best male vocalist of all time
Steve Perry voted the favorite rock lead singer of all time in 8/23 by Billboard 100.
Absolutely
Provide a link or proof of it..because I can't find that. I'll believe it if you can provide
Love Steve, but I saw one showing Queen lead singer got it. Steve & Journey together I believe had more hits.
