  • Step by step example of dismantling the front axle hub on a Bronco 4X4. This same process should apply to most (if not all) 4X4s using the Dana 44 axle with disc brakes.

well filmed/articulated..my local gear shop hadn’t made it clear to me, but this did it...there’s a lot that can go wrong!

helpful video, didn't know what was inside those things, I could grab the top of my tire and shake it really hard in and out and have a tiny bit of play, thought it might be the wheel bearing, so I took it apart and found it wasn't the wheel bearings but a tiny bit of play in the upper ball joint, not that big of a deal, compared to play in the wheel bearing.

great job. i have a 70 k10. i have a spare front end from an 85 k10. can i just replace the housing and backing plate/ caliper and be done to convert to disc? wish i'd seen this video a few years ago when i started off on my own- took it apart and was lost for a few months...
    hub i mean- not housing.

I don't recall, but I am sure you can find it at any 4X4 shop or Tom's Bronco.

What size is that socket? 2.5”?

There is no size indicated on the socket. It is a special tool that you can likely find at your local autoparts store, or order it from most offroad specialty vendors.
