  • In this DIY auto repair guide video, young mechanic Aiman will take you through step-by-step on how to remove the rear seat belt assembly (retractor, receiver & buckler) on Honda Accord 2004 (which is the same as model years 2003, 2005, 2006 & 2007) DX LX EX 2.4L & 2.0L engine). The removal and replacement procedures for rear seatbelt maybe similar to most Acura & Honda sedans such Civic and Element.
We're taking apart this car so we're doing many more auto repair instructional videos for those who are looking for ideas on how to remove, replace and/or install components or parts in their car, SUV, minivan, truck or vehicles.

A very amateur yet very helpful DIY video. Keep up the good work young man, as you've also shown where the upper rear shock/strut mounts are located.
Update: My Accord is a 2009 LX w/most bells & whistles, yet this video is still helpful. I've run into a snag in that my Accord has rear pillar mounted airbags, and a subwoofer in the rear window deck panel. I have yet to get further due to needing tools I don't have, but I will share my experience as I progress in fixing the rear seatbelt retractor. Again, keep up the good work.

Do not use a pry bar to remove the side bolsters! There is a bolt (#10) that fixes the lower notch/tab of the bolsters to the chassis. You may need to remove the bottom seat cushion to see it. Remove that bolt and push in the bolsters and slide up.

You need to take the bottom seat once you take that seat it has a bolt you take that bolt out and slide it up no need to put a ply bar or screw driver to lift

That the one Peace that’s holding mine in and I can’t figure out there’s nothing online about it either and I’ve literally unbolted every bolt and clip underneath it seems to just be stuck there and might not even plugged in since I have a wing on my car and it has a light on it

Word of the day: finagle 😹

  • @CMill78

One criticism, finagle has an A like (A)BC not (a)pple.😂 No for real though, very well spoken and very informative. Great job!!

Also, they are called 10mm, 12mm, etc. Not #10 or #12.

Finagle is his favorite word. Other videos take out the bottom seat first. Not necessary to use a pry bar. This person isn’t showing the best way, just the way he eventually got it apart by brute force.

It would have been better if you showed in your video how to remove the second brake light.

Rear upper seats cushions dont need to come out, just bottom seat cushion, one 10mm bolt driver side rear seat, and the rear bolt on the retactor, just wedge a block of wood 4x4 atleast under the trim panel on the side your working on, to get quick access and keep panel from smashing and digging into your hand, rear bolt 14mm, front 10mm, gloves help

You took it apart but, you didn't show how to change it. Can you show how you change the seat belt itself?

There’s a tool u can buy that’s made to remove clipped on parts aka the seat and the panels I recommend u spend the 10 to 20 bucks it costs to get the tool especially if u want to keep everything in decent condition and not have to buy new panels or whatever else just because of 1 the clips

Does anyone have a link for video on how to replace Nissan Altima 2014 rear car seat belt, I couldn’t find one.

An advice I can give is simply not to pry so much... your just asking for broken clips...

  • @Shellshock361

I would take some of this video with a grain of salt. Don't do exactly what he does. You're not supposed to pry the side bolster out without undoing the bottom bolt. The bracket for the bolt is just plastic.

You hacked up that car, if I caught you working like that on my car, you would have been fired ! You don't use a Pry bar on seat cushions...lol ! 😂😂😂😂

    • @duaneafields
      @duaneafields 2 ปีที่แล้ว

uhhhh, yea you do. Theres an actual step pry bar for clips, It's almost exactly what he used. He did it correctly if replacing all the retractors.
