I do líke the little relay tester, but a really simple way is to have someone lay or sit in back and put a the Philips head of the screw driver on the tank and the handle to your ear and have someone turn the key (not until the starter kicks) just so the pump primes.....no noise, then you know to check the relay. If you hear the pump prime, you now know the electrical set up and pump are fine.(Never heard of a fuel pump that would come on but never prime btw) Then all you have left is it's either an injector/filter/ or blockage in the fuel line.
How do you know if it is the tank pump vs the high pressure pump? Is there a low pressure test port for fuel pressure?
Good Tip on the test relay.
Where do you get the relay diagrams..??? I have an Aussie 2004 xd hyundai elantra with intermittent possible fuel problems I'm trying to track down. Thanks
if you become a member of my channel i have a level that gets you wiring diagrams
I don’t have power at the pump, I can’t find the reset button on the kick panel it says it’s a 2018 sonata please give me something. I changed the relay.
Test the circuits at the relay
What about testing the hpfp
I don't see either of the two links you mentioned that you added below. My eyes must be getting old.
I just checked for some reason the links didn’t show up. I put them in there again in a little bit. Thanks for letting me know.
The Link is up
hi i have a code for p0091 for fuel pressure regulator. can i just switch regulator or its best to just do fuel pump. now how do i know its not the high fuel pressure pump??? thank you
what is the car running ? or do you just have a code
@@AutoRepairTips757 crank no start n code p0091 I think I will spray the starter fluid like you did but trying to determine if it’s not the high pressure pump
@@AutoRepairTips757 hi rear pump in tank and in the engine was replaced no codes it starts now but at time is a long crank before it starts? Any suggestions could it be injectors?
Why did you only have 9.6 volts on the fuel pump control? Shouldn't it have been battery voltage with a full ground from the computer?
The battery was weak
@@AutoRepairTips757 but your other tests on that relay showed 12v
Not sure but I had to put a charger on it
@AutoRepairTips757 I figured out what it was, although I'm not sure why it happens. This circuit needs to be tested while cranking, otherwise it won't show a proper ground. I believe the voltage we are seeing is a bias voltage the pcm uses to test the fuel pump circuit. When the car is cranking the pcm pulls full ground and you should see battery voltage, or no voltage drop.
Just learned this because I was testing the circuit on my 07 before replacing the fuel pump.
