    Very nice vid! I did see in another video where they were able to just wiggle it loose without dismanteling all those other parts... But, it was very good to see how to do this in the event it cannot just wiggle loose! You are VERY clear in your descriptions and explanations and your videography is excellent! Nice work!

    I just replaced the fuel pump in the tank for my 2012 sonata and am still getting the P0087 code. Should i replace this one too or the fuel pressure sensor?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the car is driving normally it may be the sensor. A good scan tool is needed to read the high fuel pressure , but usually any scan tool will read the low. I would rule out the low with gauge/scan tool. Then move on to the high . Thanks for watching.

    16:18 So now I am having an issue, When I put the HP fuel pump back on it will not seat itself flush, the only way is to remove the tapit (key way) then it will sit flush, put the key way back in and it will not sit flush is the motor at top dead center so the fuel pump will not go back on?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bolts should pull it back down in place. It will sit up a bit until the spring compresses. Now if the bolts won't start because it is simply too high , I would rotate the crank clockwise . Thank you for the feedback.

    Can you show me how to clean or replace the fuel injectors for Sonata ? thanks in advance

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really would not recommend removing these. The are directly fitted into the cylinder. Not only are they difficult to get to , but they are extremely hard to remove. If you do decide to remove and clean them plan on removing the intake and taking spray lubricant and a lot of force and twisting to remove them. Another thing you would want some new seals for the injectors once you replace them. These are a press tight fit along with the seals to insure they don't leak. I will make a note to cover the removal the next opportunity I have though. Best of luck on yours and thanks for watching.

    Im having issues with fuel in oil, is it possible that the high pressure pump is dumping fuel in my oil? Thanks

    • @BryanCooper268
      @BryanCooper268 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Search over the Internet with these 2.4L Inline 4 cylinder engines having seized up bearing failure do to oil consumption or loss of oil. Daughter’s car has no oil leaks whatsoever and isn’t smoking, where is the oil going? Being diluted over time with gas and oil viscosity loss only to have it evaporated thru the PVC valve, also note that the oil becomes acidic and can sludge. Bad design on fuel pump, would have been better if bottom spring area vented to outside the engine. Old days a mechanical fuel pump bolted to side of block with a plunger rod to cam lobe, but if rubber diaphragm or seal let loose it would leak fuel out the weep hole on side of fuel pump and on ground and not inside of the engine,

      This is why the Hyundai dealstealership may order what they call a oil consumption test.

    How has the low cost generic high pressure pump performed? Is it still working correctly? I'm in Canada, the dealer wants $1299, Amazon prices range from $100-$431. I was wondering if an after market unit is a safe bet considering the wide range in prices. Although price doesn't always indicate quality. thanks .

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You just need to turn the crank until its at the lowest point. This only makes it slightly easier to install because of the spring . The high pressure pump is still working perfectly to date. Thanks for the feedback.

      Did your valve cover gasket come with a new seal for the high pressure pump area ? Also if it did , I would remove it and clean it thoroughly with alcohol etc and use a little rtv. Ultra gray or Ultra black seem to be the best. Also replace the pcv valve if you have not already . Hope this helps.

      This is the tube you need to replace. This is a problem on these cars and can be dangerous. Be sure and not overtighten when replacing and check for leaks following. Another tip , make sure both fittings are on properly straight etc and tighten at the same time. Thanks for the feedback.

    I just had both the fuel pump and high pressure fuel pump replaced. I had a new alternator starter and battery also done not too long ago. Why would my Sonata still take a long time to start!?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cam follower under the high pressure pump might be faulty , there could be a wiring issue at the high pressure pump, If it runs well after a long crank I would suspect the fuel delivery. It is really hard to tell anything on these cars without a scan tool . Thank you for the feedback.

    • @s33therfan

      It has a low pressure or regular fuel pump in the tank along with this high pressure fuel pump on the cylinder head. It is really hard to say on how long one can last because sometimes I have seen tbem well over 200k miles and still performing well. I am located in Arkansas.
