i have a green spotted puffa. when I 1st bought him/her (about 2 months ago), I bought a pack of frozen mussels. Jeff (the only fish I have with a name) didn't seem too keen on them, the I realized they were cooked.
surely that's not right is it?
anyway, I started feeding him snails, which he loved. then I ran out.
one day, I found a woodlice crawling across my floor. I picked it up and dropped it in the tank.
Jeff flew across the tank like a ballistic missile, chopped it in half and munched it in 2 seconds. this is now his favourite food. he's putting on weight and much happier.
and the best thing is, it's free!
place a broken patio slab/piece of wood/flower pot in the garden somewhere flat.
if you put it next to your back door, it's easy to get to. just put a bit of earth under it for the woodlice to snuggle into.
every day, lift it up and there ya go!
    fresh food.
wiggly feet and a crunchy back. just how Jeff likes it.
brings out his predatory instinct. great to watch.
cheers Cory. best channel on the internet.

My puffer just died after about a month of having him :( I work at a pet store and a man donated one to me bc he didn’t want it anymore. I had never heard of them before and fell absolutely in love with that lil fish. I am so heartbroken, it’s insane. I miss his little cute face so much and how inquisitive he was. I can’t help but think I did something wrong and haven’t stopped doing research because I feel so bad and just want to know/learn more of what I could have done differently. I now believe he was sick already when I had got him and only got worse. I didn’t notice any signs at all and he was eating perfectly but his last few days, he rested a lot on the bottom than usual and I was worried but didn’t want to stress him out. I added SeaChem’s Stress Guard to try and help but after 3 days he was not with me anymore. I feel so bad and miss him so much. Definitely would love to get more and your videos have helped a lot. Definitely one of the best pet fish you can have. Would love to have another one 🥺

Back when I was a kid (10-11), my family got a fish tank and a couple fish books. I loved reading those books even though a lot of concepts were a little too advanced for me (like nutrient deficiencies, illnesses, building a tank from scratch, and water parameters). I especially enjoyed the parts that talked about fish species and breeding, and taking care of aquatic plants. Watching aquarium co-op's channel as well as other related fish care channels on youtube reminds me of the sheer joy of learning more about fish and plants when I was a kid. Thank you!

My kid is one of the ones who loves coming in and feeding Murphy. The other day when we came in, Murphy ate a guppy...completely by accident, because it was a fry that decided to poke at part of the clam that dropped :P Murphy just hoovered him him, surprising us and your store employee :D
Puffer (pea or amazon) are one of the fish we're planning to get down the road, with a lot more experience and larger tanks. But we love coming in to see the ones in your store :) HUGE thanks to your very knowledgeable staff for helping me talk my 7-yr old out of some right now, because we definitely don't have the set-up. This is definitely something you have to prepare for, so thanks again for putting a priority on education over "Yah, sure, you can keep 4 of these in a gallon!"

Having been in the salt and fresh water hobby for just a few years now, I never got a freshwater puffer do to the overwhelming and intimidating aspect of the responsibility. But, frustration and unsuccessful resources to rid my 30g freshwater planted tank from pesky snails got me to finally go to my local S. Florida fish store to get my self a green spotted puffer fish. Thus, stumbling to your channel to feed my self with the most information possible about these beautiful fish. Great video!! Please wish me luck!!

My Green Spotted Puffer was a MESS! at my pet shop before I rescued him, he had velvet, Ich, internal parasites, fin rot and a bacterial infection. It took a month to get him healthy... I treated and changed his brackish water 3 times a day to get rid of all the diseases falling off of him. What a job that was but he's all better now... Thanks to Cory with giving advice on what meds to use :) After the parasite meds were done...Triple sulfa worked great for his cloudy eyes and bacterial infection.

I love listening to the guy in the background laughing. So very informative Cory. They sell dwarf puffers at our local Walmart now, I feel so bad for all these fish...love to scoop all of them up and save them but I think all of them so riddled with diseases and parasites, would be a disaster to my babies at home☹️

    Who disliked this?
    That was a great talk.
    My 2 cents:
I think kuhli loaches are good companions for pea puffers.
They are nice opposites body-wise and since the kuhlis keep mostly to the ground they don't really bother the puffers.
I keep 6 pea puffers, 5 kuhlis, 3 Amano shrimp and 15 blue neons (i think you call them green neons) in a densely planted 30 gallon tank that i would call overgrown atm...
The peas have their spaces that they won't tolerate other puffers in (a medium-sized anubias nana, roots included, seems to do fine for them as personal space)...everyone else is tolerated.
I only put live food in that tank.
I got a separate tank for snails and live food in a great variety is not too hard to come by/keep/make any more...
    Greetings from Germany.
    Keep up the good work.

I bought what I thought was a pea puffer 3 1/2 months ago... It didn't stop growing. Im now the owner of a fahaka puffer 😅. Yes, it was mislabeled and it's my first experience owning a puffer. Of course now my tank is 100% snail free, so I'm currently setting up a tank to keep snails out of his tank until feeding time 😂. Im aware that I'll need at least a 120 gallon tank.

Thank you cory you keep teaching me, kinda new to this world. I am preparing myself to get pea puffer fish. Sadly, there’s no shop here which sells api general cure... hopefully the alternative can help with the internal worm. Thanks!!

I have a pea puffer with 8 glass shrimp, he hasn't ever attacked them but he does chase them around just to play, so far haven't had any die other then one that couldn't shed and got stressed out
