In my opinion this is a good idea! No need to print every photo you take. If you don’t like that, you can get a normal polaroid camera.

I want to grow by exploring, appreciating and treasuring all the moments of my life. I badly want to have an instant camera but as of now, my parents won't allow me because its too expensive. Its so nice to look back and remember how we choose to fight and be happy in life. Instax camera will always have special place in my heart. God bless you more for allowing everyone to be happy and pursuing their pasion.
Maybe try asking them to get you a cheaper option, like the mini 7, it’s like 50$!
Okay, so basically what you have changed from the SQ10 is the mirror in the front, zoom, collage editing and the video mode.
There are more updates that those you have listed; including: exposure compensation, slightly less wide-angle lens, and more.
By incorporating video, you can capture a video, then choose which frame to print, rather than trying to time the exposure just right. (Handy for action sequences).

This sounds great and all, given the option to print without really wasting films... but stopping at the SQ6 would of been great. Maybe it would be nice to make a Sp-4 for Wide films

Why won't Fuji make an instax wide version is beyond me.
Non-replaceable battery is bad. Ends up in the landfill in 3 years. Corporations just wants you to buy and throw away. I have devices from 20 years ago that I can still use because the battery can be replaced. Obviously this is bad for business

Hi, do you happen to know any reason why my sq20 printing darker than it supposed to be? I didnt change or use any effects on them. Before print the picture in the screen looks fine (bright) but after printing, it appear darker. Hope you can give an advice. Thanks a lot
Hi, does this give you the option of turning the flash off? Also, it’s kind of disappointing that it doesn’t come in cute colors. I wish that Fuji would Release a new were version of the wide, with a timer, cute colors, and the option to put a microSD card inside

Cool and all but the idea is shaky from the start. I think the camera kind of defeats all the fun of polaroids for most people.
This model just seems like it’s become more of a mediocre digital camera with printing capabilities
I disagree - I'm too apprehensive about the cost of instant photo's to use the analogue cameras. Especially also to give them to some families that don't have much money, yet have children that would enjoy them - this alleviates those concerns.
I don't want to give something to friends of the family that will end up unnecessarily costing money, while this one let's them indulge in spontaneous social photography without any sinking feelings.
Having said that, I'd probably be more inclined to give an SP-2/3 etc so they could just link from their phones etc, and the teenagers could move up to X-T20s etc in due time.
In short, this actually liberates polaroids for me and my friends.
They have models without screens, there is something for everybody!
Not for me. I love that I can know that I'm going to get a decent picture and not have to retake it (especially when I'm doing self timer with a large group of friends). Because if I had the wrong exposure, or whatever, I can fix that before printing. And then each of those friends can take a copy of the picture. That's pretty great. And then I have the option of uploading the pictures onto my computer and posting them on facebook or emailing them or whatever. I see it as an instant film camera that can also be useful for social media.

An instant camera to me is a Polaroid, take the photo and it comes out... Polaroid made much better Cameras than Fujifilm, Fuji was/is a rip off version in my eyes.

They should just make a square insta printer because such functions can be done with other cameras

Hello, I bought sq20 but I did not find a way to connect it to my smart phone. Is it possible (like in case of my li-play, such a great feature!).
I added an SD card with pics (jpg format, named as DSCF0001, etc) but those images are not visible on the camera. I tried this with different SD cards and pictures several times but did not work. :(
I cannot transfer images with a cable through the computer either.
Would you have a workaround how to get the pictures from my smartphone printed?

is there a wifi in SQ20 to connect to mobile phone?
Thanks for asking. As it turns out, there is no Wi-Fi connectivity to mobile phones on the SQ20. Check out the new instax LiPlay, which uses instax Mini film, but it has connectivity to mobile phones.
will the filtered images save into the SD card? last time we only got RAW image in SD with SQ10
Hi Zuna. Similar to the SQ10, the images saved are without any effects. When the card is in the camera, and the images are viewed on the camera, you'll be able to see the creative effects that are applied.

Thanks Fuji guys for putting this up because I’m trying to check what’s the best instax fuji film out there that I can buy. Question though, if I view the pictures from the sd card to my computer - will the same instax photo be seen? You know without any additional filters. Will it still show the same instax vintage look pictures? :)
Hi Charms. This camera will only accept Fujifilm instax Square film.
The images recorded on the Micro-SD card will show on your computer as regular, non filtered, images.

Well, there are a few things that are new to the SQ20, including: printing a frame from a video (you can record a video then pick the exact frame to print), it has a selfie mirror (making it easier to compose selfies), it's a bit lighter and there are additional creative effects on the SQ20.

I agree but also the hybrid allows you to save film. That’s a good thing considering how expensive they are.
I had bought the polaroid original one step + recently and although i loved all the features and quality... the price of just 8 pictures was ridiculous and in the long run cost money and wasteful pictures that don’t come out as you like.
Even if I wouldn’t use this hybrid version of digital and analog I still understand why people would want to. But making a filter where you have the look of an analog film but printed on a Polaroid is just disrespectful.... sorry but that just does not make any sense

Yes. Just like the SQ 10, you will be able to print images from other digital cameras that were captured with the Micro-SD card.

Hi the SQ20 can't be connected to a phone, you would need the SP-3 to print from your smartphone in the SQUARE format.

Do you know how long it takes for the film to end? Or does the film 🎞 ever end? Lol. It's my first time using this camera, it's still going to come and I'm anxious! Love from Brazil 🇧🇷
If you do not have an optional Micro-SD card, you can take about 50 images with the built-in memory. Once the memory is full you will need to delete images before recording any new images, as the camera will not automatically erase any of your images.If you do have an optional Micro-SD card installed, how many images you can record will depend on the capacity of the card.
this is cool and all that but i am happy with my mini 8 :) and I think more people would buy it if the color/s were improved

Hi Leena. The Micro-SD card is sold separately. We can only suggest that you purchase one from a reputable brand, and are not able to provide suggestions on one over another.
Does it have the option of turning the flash on and off like Mini 90 Neo Classic?
Thanks for asking Zainab. Yes, the SQ20 has multiple flash options: Auto, Compulsory flash, Suppressed flash. The flash range is approximately 50 cm to 2 m.

The pictures saved in memory card can be open in a computer to print them? Or are just able to see in the camera?
Marco Furtado The images stored on the optional memory card are about 4MP in size and are only the images themselves. None of the creative effects that may be added to the images in the camera will appear in the files on the computer.

That is correct. Printing the image will give you the creative filter(s). The digital image files are just the image, without the creative filters.

Yes. Get the SQ10 instead though. Bigger screen and most importantly, removable/replaceable battery. It takes a Fuji NP50.

How to add retro sequence film frame filter on movies?
Thanks for asking. You can view the retro sequence (or any creative filter) on the LCD screen of the camera, or print a movie frame and it will include the effect on the print.
The recorded files (both still and video) are not treated with the special creative effects; you won't see the effect when viewing on a computer.
Can you use this as printer also? Like the LiPlay?

Which one is better? SQ20 or LiPlay?
The SQ20 uses instax Square film, whereas the LiPlay uses instax Mini film. They are both capable of capturing images. With the LiPlay you can transfer images from your phone, add borders and even record a sound that you can play back on your smartphone.
Could the firmware from the SQ20 be loaded on a SQ10 ? Just wondering
No. Firmware is specific to the model. You should NEVER attempt to install firmware for one model onto a different model.

The SQ6 is an analog camera. Every time you press the shutter button a print will be made. Want a second print? You'll need to press the shutter button a second time.
The SQ20 is a hybrid camera. When you press the shutter button a digital image is created. After the image is saved you can decide if you want to print it, or add creative effects. Want a second print? Simply press the print button again, and you get an exact copy of the first one. Great for sharing with friends.

Hi Karina. This camera uses Fujifilm instax Square film exclusively. That's the only type/size you can use in it.
I'd really buy this... if it has Wi-Fi integration with the X cameras. So I guess I'll have to buy a SP-3. :(
You're correct; the SP-3 has Wi-Fi integration with X-Series models, plus with the free app for iOS and Android devices.

Is liplay better than sq20?
The LiPlay is different from the SQ20, and it really depends on your preference.
The SQ20 uses instax Square film. The LiPlay uses instax Mini.
The LiPlay connects to your phone. The SQ20 has a Micro-SD card slot.
I feel like it misses the point of a Polaroid like camera
I think it's pretty awesome that you can choose what you wanna print and add effects, if people don't like the modernized version they can always get fujifilm's original cameras.

Hey Vee. That's correct; there is no tripod socket on the SQ20. It's designed to be held when taking photos.
There IS one on the SQ10 though. If you like this and having a tripod mount is critical to you, there is that.
I have the SQ20 and I love it but the lack of tripod mount was kind of disappointing.
In situations where a tripod would have been nice, I've been able to find alternatives and work around it, but yeah, it's a really basic thing for a $200 camera not to have.

Idk if I would get this . The colour is so ugly and being able to see what u take before printing defeats the purpose of the instant camera. True some people might like it cause film is so expensive but not knowing what to expect from ur pics is the fun of instant cameras anyways . From the looks of it it just feel like a badly quality digital camera which let's u print instantly after. I think it's just better of to take pics with a really nice camera or ur phone then print it off with a instant printer .

@@fujiguys I disagree with the above comment. I love the vintage look of the square format camera. I don't like to waste film when printing. I have a Canon and a Polaroid 660 and I love the idea that you can take that feel to a printed option but viewing it first. That's the beauty. If you don't like that refer to your phone or your DSLR.

Polaroid are a joke, they ain't surviving the decade. Their cameras are the same as the cameras 30 years ago but have problems, they haven't innovated at all. Fuji on the other hand have combined digital features with instant photography. When I get the money I'm switching to Instax.

If you turn on the CC Subtitles, TH-cam will often translate those to the language you have set. That may help you.
I,m amazed Fuji think they can pass of this sh**t as a new camera . Fuji why don,t you put the Fuji wide camera out of it,s misery with a bullet to the lense ,so I can give up hope that you will never ever improve on the 300 camera 📸 I mean this is the 3rd version of the sq range ,so it,s nothing to do with r&d or is there no money in the Fuji wide, please let me know
The 3rd model and still disappointed me. Also the ugliest of the bunch. I really really nad really wanted to love Fuji's Instax square format but the camera is a deal breaker on both function and design.
I'm gonna get this one, good for vacations, don't want to waste film everytime, and then I can print later at home, the only thing that I don't like is the camera design, all fuji instax design are ugly, like cheap toys...
They should make something more professional, like they do in mirrorless cameras X series, with metal or at least something with a good look, like polaroid did with 600SE for example.

I love the digital upgrade, it makes it very interesting and you don't waste film.
