I love the joy you have in giving this review and the honesty on how much you like them. I can't stop recommending these to people either. Wore them to work and kept rambling on how great they were, realizing later on that they didn't care one bit... hahaha. I guess that's how we tend to be at times. Great review.
It took a few hours getting used to my m-80s, coming from Grados. At first it was odd not having that open sound stage, but after some quality time and diff. music... WOW! These headphones are SWEET! Compact Fun Clear Powerful Sound! Thanks for the review!
I hope you will do a review of the new Crossfade LP2 ! Cuz I've got my eyes set on that one but it's not available in EU yet but I'd love to see the usual tests you do on the headphones before purchasing too. :)
Had no clue you could extend/retract the earpiece, let alone how durable the headband is! I was disappointed how small they fit originally and it didn't feel like they could be adjusted but I didn't know how rough you could be with them
I had the same experience as you did, I turned the EQ to treble boost and that helped, since then I have gone back to EQ off and I am happy now. I think maybe they needed to be broken in a bit.
I have the Vibratos and they are the most durable earbuds I've ever seen. Vmoda has the market for durability in audio products. They sound great for hip hop and rap as well. In my opinion, Vmoda is the up and coming standard for commercialized fun listening headphones.
Just ordered these for next day delivery. Can't wait to start using them and breaking them in. I made the mistake of buying dre beats solo hd. Hopefully I'll see a significant difference!
Vmoda had sort of a secret sale of the m100's pre-production units on his website about a month and a half back. They were known as the VTF-100's or pre production m100's. All i can say is that the weakness'es of the m80s were fixed with the m100's and then some. The bass is tighter and more textured than the m80s. The highs are sorted out, where the m80s had a 8k dip, the highs sound great. The mids sound better because the bass is not walking over the mids on the m100's as well.
@Scorix Well I think it depends what you're looking for. The Crossfade LP2 got even stronger bass response, more neutral mids/highs while M-80 has a bit more forward midrange and less bass. I like a strong bass response and neither do I like on-ear so Crossfade LP2 looks like a better option to me but it certainly doesn't have to be the case for every1, maybe not Tyll either for example.
No doubt the bigger drivers help :) I'm very hard pushed. I'm very new to V-Moda, i.e only hearing about them a week or so ago, but I'm hooked... I really want to buy a pair. Only issue is, I was very tempted to just hit the buy button on the m80's (Amazon UK), but after hearing about the m100's, I'm now tempted to wait for reviews and may pre-order (though shipping is expensive from its retailer...) or wait to see what the prices are like once it arrives in the UK (?). Worth waiting?
Just to give people another opinion on these headphones they are amazing. Great sound, amazing noise isolation, and built to last. There is a little issue of comfort but after the first few days of wearing them for hours they basically shape to your head and soon you will feel very comfortable wearing them with no issue of ear pain. I love my m-80s and the best part about them is putting your own custom shield. These are just amazing headphones.
Great video! But could you give me your opinion on these headphones for vocals? If these aren't the best for clear vocals, could you recommend some headphones to me? Thanks in advance.
Hi there, great review as always. Was going to get these but really didnt like how tight it was on my head :( So i went with HD 25's instead. I have a question about portable music players, I used to have an iphone which i used but no longer have it, I need something different. What would you suggest ? I heard good things about Cowon.
Salutations sir. I was questioning if the other V-Moda headphone products had replaceable ear cups as well because I find that to be an important aspect. Thank you for taking my comment in consideration. Good day.
When do you plan on doing a review for the Crossfade LP2 by V-MODA because I can't find any reviews on them :/ I can only find videos and reviews on the regular LP
The white ones look good. Ive seen em in a store. Realistically if style is your thing, you really can't go wrong with v-moda's stuff. And you'll be getting a LOT better sound than pretty pretty much eery other style phone on the market.
I love you're vid reviews man, you are the best at it so fluid like youre just talking to me and no one else...you're like the white version of my querido papa(my dad) keep up the good work...any chance that you might review the aiaiai tma-1's? -Dan-
V-moda, Good Job! I am always amazed by my M80's, I compared it with my Westone UM3XRC, M80 got the clarity (but of course can reach the "Highs" quality of UM3X but very close), very sweet and neutral mids, punchy and realistic Bass and SubBass (compared with my Focal XS Book 2.0 speaker). I listen to 24bit 192kHz music a lot, I gotta say I am so satisfied with the price and performance.
I'm coming from a pair of Sennheiser PX-100's known for their great sound for the price (only real headphones I've owned other than the Portapros for a few months) but have wanted a great sounding headphone that also looked good for AGES. I doubt I would be disapointed :)
i ended up getting the m-80s two days before this came out . great review thanks for the reccomendation theyre my favorites too whats not to like about them
Considering the price difference, would you prefer these or the Skullcandy mix masters? Thank you so much for the review, I have been waiting for it for a long time.
I'd personally buy the V-moda M80s. Both sound great, however the SQ on the M80 provides a slightly better listening experience while also being more portable. However, you could get the ATH-M50 as low as 100, while the M80s seem to be staying at 180, while it may change after the M100s come out in July.
I chose to buy this pair of headphones over ATH-M50s and DT770s and HD25s because I wanted a pair of good looking headphones that also sounded great and had great bass response. The EQ balance seems like it's extremely bass -biased. It almost seems like the EQ tuned into the headphone is more bass biased than the driver itself can handle, almost coming across as muddy sometimes? I would almost say almost overpowering? What do you think, InnerFidelity?
@ser363k Well those are in two completely different price ranges. The xb500s sound very distant while the lp2 is a bit more forward. If youre going to spend 200 on a bass heavy cans, look at the higher up sonys.
I've watched quite a few of your videos looking for headphones to buy (i listen to absolutely all genre of music) and from what i've seen these should be my "to go" pick. I'm a real sucker for music so i'd be wearing them constantly pretty much everywhere. So is it really worth buying them for everyday use (found them for 150$ on amazon)? P.S. Sorry for my English.
I've been eyeing these headphones for some time now but I don't think I will dish out the cash for these. I would rather get the HD25s :D BTW nice review as usual, keep em coming :)
@InnerFidelity Any chance of a review on the Crossfade LP? I'm not really a fan of on ear headphones and I'm wondering if the LP has as good sound quality as these? :)
Just purchased a pair of these are reading and watching this review, cant wait to get them now, am i right in thinking he M100 are bigger and less portable? Im def not a DJ or anything and I paid £85 for my M80's but wandering if I should have got the m100 now
Have you tried them with jazz, funk, progressive rock or something where you need to hear lots of different instruments, like big band music. If you have, how did it sound? Because I listen to a lot of complex music where you need to hear all the different things that are happening in the song. I would appreciate a lot if you answered!
For pop, rock, alternative and drum and bass... V-Moda M80, Audio Technica ATH-M50, pioneer HDJ 2000, beyerdynamic DT 1350 or AKG Q701? I use an iphone4s as the main player and would not like a portable amp with my headphones
I already got the LP2 ... about a week before i found out about the m100 but I really don't mind it! I heard that the LP2 is more balanced than the original LP and then again, it's got 2 years warranty and immortal life, so those will last me alot of time. i had the stanton dj pro 3000 before my vmoda's and they started breaking in a week :P still liked them but had to super glue them... i sadly can't afford m100 for $300... but i'l be waiting for the Revolvers! :D
Do you recommend it for jazz or classical music? I know there was a DT1350... however it require a AMP.... :( I love your channel ~~keep up the good work man~~
for all you people wondering about the difference between the crossfade lp's and the m-80's from what ive read the m-80 are geared more towards the audiophile community and have a much better sound than the lp's but you might still want to do some research on which you buy depending on your budget
looking for good headphones with in the 0-150 price range that has lots of bass with clear audio nice mids n highs. i love reggae, gospel, dancehall, hiphop, and dupstep. any ideas of what to get.??
@InnerFidelity So V moda's crossfades, Akg Q701s, or klipsch m40 modes? You havent reviewed the klipsch or the crossfades. Im looking for portable (not in size but in strength), Sound and comfort! I no some of these need a port head amp :) Whats your thoughts
I found the crossfade lp fit to tight and hurt my ears and head. But your saying I can bend it to for looser? Maybe I will give them a try other than the comfort level I liked them.
Would you recommend these, or the Lp2 version? I'm not much of an audiophile... I like good sound, but I can't tell the difference between small differnces in Highs and mids and lows, i like a deeper bass.
I read different reviews of the aiaiai tma-1 and those who reviewed them said they were as good or better than the dt1350's and the hd25's Hopefully you'll find the time to prove them right or wrong
@jonguyen89 I think if you enjoy the ATH M50s then the V-moda would be a smart choice yes. Just be sure that you let them burn in for a while, cause right out of the box some of the higher frequencies sound a little recessed, but after a few days of burn in they loosen up very nicely. The B&W P5's are very nice for jazz music as well, they're very warm headphones, but for RnB not so much. they're def not high-fidelity by any stretch. Overall the V-moda's have a better sound signature.
So u like these headphones more then the HD25? Hmmm I dont know are the design on the m80s little too much? Have no idea of which im going to buy m80 or HD25....
Good! :D I read a review where the M80s got a 9 out of 10 in the sound department. No doubt by the sounds of things, the M100s will be achieving a much higher score. Well looking forward to them :D They were compared to the Denon 7000s on one
Which one would you recommend me, the ath m50x, v moda lp2 or the m80? I listen to hip hop music and would enjoy a nice bass but not to over powering the actual song.
I understand the M80 is better then the Souls SL150, but I am curious HOW better? Is it like night and day? Or is there a small difference? Large difference?
i am really having trouble for which headphones i should purchase. i am mainly looking for riding on the bus and school usage as well as great sound quality and comfort. im having trouble deciding between the cvmoda crossfade lp, audio technica ath m50, or some other headphones people may recommend under the $160 price range. i am looking for great bass and im 13 so i cant blow off more than a few hundred dollars on headphones. thanks phillip
just got the m80, sounds phenomenal. sound signature is so good that u keep it on for hours !
I love the joy you have in giving this review and the honesty on how much you like them. I can't stop recommending these to people either. You posted this review at a perfect timing so I can check this out! Thank you so much!
I have the crossfade lps. Seem identical to these except over the ear. They have made everything I listen to so much more enjoyable.
Had no clue you could extend/retract the earpiece, let alone how durable the headband is! I was disappointed how small they fit originally and it didn't feel like they could be adjusted but I didn't know how rough you could be with them
Expect them to be out at around Christmas time. There's a pre-order on the Vmoda website.
I had the same experience as you did, I turned the EQ to treble boost and that helped, since then I have gone back to EQ off and I am happy now. I think maybe they needed to be broken in a bit.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I guess we experienced the same thing because the headphones seem a lot more balanced now. I'm loving them!
Just ordered these for next day delivery. Can't wait to start using them and breaking them in. I made the mistake of buying dre beats solo hd. Hopefully I'll see a significant difference!

Great video! But could you give me your opinion on these headphones for vocals? If these aren't the best for clear vocals, could you recommend some headphones to me? Thanks in advance.
Would you recommend these as Studio Monitor Reference Headphones?
Btw: Exceptional reviews!
Hi there, great review as always. Was going to get these but really didnt like how tight it was on my head :( So i went with HD 25's instead. I got the M80's i bought them because i trust this guys reviews.
I saw you on The 404! :D You and Justin started talking about these headphones I'm thinking about getting some! (:
@ArchDouchebag DO you have a pair that broke, or are you just guessing? The cables on V-Moda cans are very high quality.
just got the M80, they are awesome!! this guy really influenced in my purchasing!! :D
Salutations sir. I was questioning if the other V-Moda headphone products had replaceable ear cups as well because I find that to be an important aspect. Thank you for taking my comment in consideration. Good day.

i just pre ordered the Vmoda m-100's ... hope they are as good as Val from vmoda says.
@InnerFidelity are the souls best for hip-hop and rap? and man ur the best reviewer on youtube...PLEASE REVIEW THE STREET'S BY 50! thx

This guy LOVES these headphones so much!
I've been waiting for this for so long c;
@mark98rox The LP2 is a bass heavy headphone (a good one, though) while the M-80 is more neutral, which I prefer.
V-moda, Good Job! Awesome review. Got my M80s yesterday!
Just bought these babys and they're great! I primaly bought these because of your review so thanks for that :).
i ordered lp2 yesterday.. cant wait. i listen to rock and metal too.. Sennheissers seem to be great too!

@ser363k Well those are in two completely different price ranges. The xb500s sound very distant while the lp2 is a bit more forward. If youre going to spend 200 on a bass heavy cans, look at the higher up sonys.
@RavenKandi That's tough. I'd rather have the M-80 cuz it's so cool. But the HD 25-1 II stays on your head better.
I've watched quite a few of your videos looking for headphones to buy (i listen to absolutely all genre of music) and from what i've seen these should be my "to go" pick. Got mine today and it is great! cant wait to burn them in to see how they really sound.
@InnerFidelity nice review keep up the good work
I bought the Noontec primarily on your suggestion Tyll, so would you recommend these over the Zoro?
Just found out one of the cords that came wit my m-80s can be used as a gaming mich i am continuing to love these XD
Just purchased a pair of these are reading and watching this review, cant wait to get them now, am i right in thinking he M100 are bigger and less portable? Im def not a DJ or anything and I paid £85 for my M80's but wandering if I should have got the m100 now
You should get the M100, which is bound to come out soon; the LP series is..."Sub-par," at best.
Have you tried them with jazz, funk, progressive rock or something where you need to hear lots of different instruments, like big band music. If you have, how did it sound? Because I listen to a lot of complex music where you need to hear all the different things that are happening in the song. I would appreciate a lot if you answered!

You said the the LP2's are for the bassy music. Then on the other hand, what is the m80 excessive in?
I already got the LP2 ... about a week before i found out about the m100
but I really don't mind it!
I heard that the LP2 is more balanced than the original LP and then again, it's got 2 years warranty and immortal life, so those will last me alot of time.

I also brought a V moda crossfade m80 white from amazon and i also trust this guy !
I have the m50s and absolutly love them and i heard these dont isolate very well.. my m50s do a very good job of it they sound amazing too
Fantastic review, very informative for my buying decision! :)
@MrJacksjack
dude every thing is available in the uk u just need to find where to look.
here u go
best reviewer of headphones !!! great job !!
the only problem i had with buying these, is the damn wait! i got regular shipping and it's taking forever to receive them! can't wait.
Beside your shirt ;) , this is one of the best review i ve seen.
Thx a lot, you convince me :)
Have you've tried the V-moda Crossfade LP? How are these compared to those? And do you recommend those over Pioneer HDJ 2000?
is that memory foam headband made of memory metal that you can reshape it to conform to your head? Which is better the V-Moda m-80 or the m-100?
Got my m80s a couple of weeks ago, fricken Awesome well worth it, look great sound top class cant go wrong well worth it !
looking for good headphones with in the 0-150 price range that has lots of bass with clear audio nice mids n highs. i love reggae, gospel, dancehall, hiphop, and dupstep. any ideas of what to get.??
@InnerFidelity So V moda's crossfades, Akg Q701s, or klipsch m40 modes? You havent reviewed the klipsch or the crossfades. Im looking for portable (not in size but in strength), Sound and comfort! I no some of these need a port head amp :) Whats your thoughts
Thanks dude i love ur reviews they realy helped me out choosing =) =) =)
I found the crossfade lp fit to tight and hurt my ears and head. But your saying I can bend it to for looser? Maybe I will give them a try other than the comfort level I liked them.

Hopefully you'll find the time to prove them right or wrong
@BrassKnucks14 No, but they're not bad sounding. The V-Moda M-80 and V-80 are though ... for sure.
what is the difference between m-80 and m-100 in sound quality? is m-80 better for some and m-100 for another kind of music?
Any idea when the lp2 review is coming out?
@StevenQ54 Not the LP, get the LP2 if you like excessive bass. Otherwise the M-80 is the way to go.
Crossfade LP2 vs M-80? They're the same price and I like bassy music.
@InnerFidelity can u review soul sl99 plzs :D!! thanks. also do u think sound effects what device u have? like ipod and android?
The Noise Insulation is claimed to be Outstanding but is it??
Between the M-80, Beyerdynamic DT1350, and Sennheiser HD-25, which would be best to listen to all genre of music?
Good! :D I read a review where the M80s got a 9 out of 10 in the sound department. No doubt by the sounds of things, the M100s will be achieving a much higher score.
Well looking forward to them :D
They were compared to the Denon 7000s on one
How are these compared to the Audio Technica ATH-M50? Are they better for the price?
@InnerFidelity-Tks for replying:)One more thing,have the lp2s improved alot from the lp1s?
Which one would you recommend me, the ath m50x, v moda lp2 or the m80? I listen to hip hop music and would enjoy a nice bass but not to over powering the actual song.
I had the m80 but i they pintch the ear a lil more then i like would probibly go with the lp phantom chrome ones
i had the LPs and i loved the bass, i didnt like how big they are tho so i want to get them, is the bass still really good on there?
you should review the crossfade LPs
I understand the M80 is better then the Souls SL150, but I am curious HOW better?
Is it like night and day? Or is there a small difference? Large difference?
These, Ultrasone DJ1, Ath-m50s, Philips Citiscape uptown, Crossfade LP to name a few.
Are they really gonna come out a M100 ("the over-the-ear M80") early next year? Is it worth a wait over the LP2? Plz comment. Thx!
I want they m-80's but they aren't available here... :(
i am really having trouble for which headphones i should purchase. i am mainly looking for riding on the bus and school usage as well as great sound quality and comfort. im having trouble deciding between the cvmoda crossfade lp, audio technica ath m50, or some other headphones people may recommend under the $160 price range. i am looking for great bass and im 13 so i cant blow off more than a few hundred dollars on headphones.
thanks
phillip
@InnerFidelity can you please make a review on the lp2 please?))
@InnerFidelity Have you tried the V-Moda Crossfade LP? How do they sound, are they comfortable? Crossfade LP or ATH-M50?
