I really appreciate the enormous contribution you've made to this space. As many others have mentioned, you were the best audio reviewer on this platform by quite a hefty margin. DJ MAXTRIM haha z reviews, he doesn't know about objectivity, no measurements and only his opinions. He is a good entertainer, I will give him that but he is definitely not an informative reviewer. Same thing with hifi insider but the thing is, he is not even entertaining and he doesn't cover high end electrostatic headphones which I am interested in.

I don't know of any other reviewers that look at headphones with the same thoroughness, accuracy, and passion as you. I wish you nothing but the best in retirement, it sounds like you will be having a great time! I understand if you want to totally get away from content creation, but I think you would have a captive audience if you were to start a little vlog channel with a couple updates a year. I would be interested to hear about your continued adventures!
I respect your headphone expertise but what always stood out was how great you are as a person as well. This gentle bear of a geek. So much respect, class and warmth. You know you are kind of a father figure to a lot of us 20 or 30 something headphone enthusiasts. I'm going to miss you greatly man and I hope the roads treat you well. A road trip through Europe should be on your to-do list. I especially recommend Norway. I'm going there 4 weeks this summer travelling around fishing and camping. If you like the outdoors it's the best place on this side of the pond, truly stunning. Take care Tyll.

A Portapro!! Somewhere along in my retirement, convenience and just the sheer joy of listening to music became more important than the gear I was using and all of those ‘nuances’ and ‘diminishing returns’ became less important to me. God bless and thank you for all the work that you have done.
Used them since they came out. Been through hundreds of headphones since the late 60’s and have come to a point now where I feel that prices have become out of hand and as enthusiasts, we seem to lap it up. I have a premium headphone, but the old Portapro gets used more often than not.
Today for the first time I accidentally found a video of you reviewing Aeon Headphone, into the first minute I was absorbed by the authenticity and authority of your fluent knowledge of the subject and it was presented in a very simple way. After the video I was looking for a headphone review by you of a particular headphone and I noticed this "That's it.... I'm out". Suspecting and fearing the inevitable I opened it and watched to the end, that 80 sq.ft home made me very curious because my own bedroom was more than 140 sq.ft. and there you are! It was a wonderful life story full of goodness, meaning and love, you made me shed a tear by some strange feeling of inexpressible human connection. You have some rare quality we value and are attracteded to. Wish you a happy retirement.

I have followed you for years bro. I met you at RMAF years ago and enjoyed you spirit and passion for the hobby. I think a lot of us always talk about doing what you're deciding to do but never do it. It's awesome you have a courage to remove yourself from the daily grind we're all Stuck in. If I have any advice for you it would be to take an interest in flyfishing. It's an amazing sport you can never master. It's relaxing, spiritual and get you into nature unlike any other sport. I do agree! Prices must go down for these high end products especially if some are made in China. I know R & D is part of that expense, but come on...lets bring it down a tad lol.
