Boiling water doesn't remove the sugar and stuff from the previous candies... Boiling water doesn't remove anything in fact...
Dioptry sugar dissolves into water and heat helps this to happen so yeah boiling water in the pan would help, ive made candy at home a few times and that is the best way to clean the pan.

@@SbassLaser he heated up the candy all to different temperatures. I gaurentee some of the softer candy he turned into hard candy making them less effective.. I'm not sure he googled how sugar works when heated before doing this because everything would have to be heated to the same temperature for this to be a real test.

Ooh I like this idea. Try different brands like Ludens, Halls, Ricola, maybe a local store brand? And then you throw in the jolly ranchers because that's pretty much what Ludens is 😉
You should have used a double boiling method, it achieves the same or similar heat but it's much gentler and is less likely to burn it.

The temperature you melt the candy at will effect what happens to the sugar probably more than you mixing all the candies together by the end. Use a candy thermometer and clean the pan

Also I know you did mostly glucose based candies. But we all know butterfingers win. My job ise to be sitting on a computer 16 hours a day sometimes 24+ depending on deadlines. Even though it's my fault that I ate metric tons of butterfingers. They made me have to get my back molars pulled. Devil candy
Next time you melt things like this, try using a boil pot.. it a much better even heat.. :) boil water in one pot, put your melting pot in the boiling water. bakers do this to melt chocolate more efficiently without burning. I love your videos! maybe next round, do hard candies? jolly rancher, werthers, maybe a lolli pop, peppermint disks, butterscotch... :)

As someone who makes candy fairly often I have to say this was pretty cool but also frustrating as I wish you would’ve used a thermometer and just boiled water in between orrrr used a double boiler method but either way I wasn’t expecting anything super scientific in the first place so oh well! GG mate! Fun video!

The candy you should of used was jolly ranchers. They seem like they would make a great glue. Knowing I got one stuck to my teeth before and tried to pull it off. It was stuck pretty good haha.
I’d say don’t cook them directly on a pan use a double boiler you’ll avoid caramelising the sugars in the candy it might make them work better as glues
After watching project farm and you for a while. I am pretty sure some of those candies were better than some actual glue.

Tyler the easiest way to clean ur pot would be to heat it up dump as much out then while its still hot get a rag and wipe it out (wear gloves) then boil some water in it dump that out and you should be good to go
If your using a nonstick pan, then you could pour some water into the pan, and then just wipe clean
