can you test if using isopropyl alcohol on a surface before using glue makes that big of a difference? also you should've attached those straps to a vehicle.
I have a great respect for the way you show your mistakes and not just your triumphs. I really enjoy your channel. Thank you for the information and entertainment.
YES! the brick broke loose cause you changed the holding glue from 8" to 2 1/4" turning on its side and one strap from one direction to the other to keep the brick from slipping 🙊 might have helped. Zero science on this one...
hey tyler instead of using the dirt as an anchor try to use the trunk of a tree with the ratchet straps with the same glue up (or more spread out glue for a stronger setup and possibly clamp them together to help the glue set better). a tree wont budge and you can use its limbs to help balance yourself.
Or, put a support (rock or something) under the end next to the cement block. That shouldn't affect the rest of the test. Oh, and don't have it on a part of the yard that is slanting the wrong way and so wet the chair legs immediately sink in. How about inside the garage where you can anchor it to something sturdy, on the cement floor, and put gym pads on either side for your fall?
I love that Tyler puts up videos like this and doesn't fabricate the results. I appreciate the honesty of his videos regardless of if the outcome is surprising or not.
I'll be honest, I can tell a lot of your ideas won't work immediately once I see them. But a big part of the joy of your channel is watching you learn from your mistakes so I appreciate that you keep them in there.
BREAKING NEWS; Large Beard Man dies from concussion caused by jumping on bricks in backyard. "That's right Barbra. Police investigation thus far suspects the man was temporarily insane during this stunt due to the large amounts of Flexu Glue and related products he seemed to use on a daily basis. The investigation is still ongoing and we will report more when we learn anything. Back to you Barbra."
OMG, I'm disabled and fall all the time, even when it shouldn't even be possible so near the end when the chair went into the ground and there you went I was hysterical! Doc put me in a wheelchair but now I can relive my mishaps! I just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago and you Crack me up! I find myself binge watching your channel laughing so much I'm in tears. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face!
11:11 what you needed to do, is on the bottom square of the cinder block, have a strap go through it and go forward in the direction that the wood is going. So that way, the bottom won't slip off whenever you try to get on
I can just imagine your mom walking into the garage and seeing this stuff and just turning right back around shaking her head thinking "that's Tyler for ya" 😂😂. There could be no way possible you live alone and pay your own bills
It's almost 3am and Im outside, sheltering from the rain, watching this rn because I couldn't wait till I got home. I got my priorities all correct here too 😂👌
When your chair sunk into the ground, and you exclaimed "What is happening?," I may have actually died laughing, it got worse trying to explain what happened to my wife in between the hysterical laughter. When the chair started sinking a second time, I actually did die for a second.
I've watched every one of your videos I once watched all your videos for over 24 hours. Haha I love them. Your refreshing to watch your so genuine. I want to have a TH-cam channel similar to yours soon you inspired me to do this. So thanks man. Keep up the good work. And when your videos dont work out at planned that's all part of your appeal. Thanks for being you 👍
I would like to make a couple suggestions please. 1. Use a putty knife to evenly spread the glue. 2. Strap the bricks and wood block down while they are drying 3. Set a post in the ground with comcrete to secure the cinder block to. I really think this test should be tried again.
You should redo the flex glue microwave video you did BUT test how strong it is after! For some reason I'd love to see this I recently watched that one even thou it's old a.f. and was SUPER disappointing that you didn't do a strength test after..thanks for another awsome video man
I know this isnt the most scientific channel but this one was rough lololol. I think with some planning you can re do this one and make it a lot better
The bricks let go because of the direction you lay them down. The angle needed (along the total length of the structure) to separate the surfaces would be less. Because it's not square, rotating along its length 90 degrees massively effects it's ability to take load.
Fyi those nossels are meant to be cut down to whatever thickness you need your bead to be. Use some scissors or a knife to cut the tube higher up and it'll flow out much better
The problem you’re having here is where you have the center of mass, and the straps have too much tension happening. You should create something to either be like a T shape with something going through the blocks, or put a counter balance on the exact opposite side of the base block.
Tyler why not just had took two chairs or medium platforms, and put the cinder blocks on them then anchor it into the ground with the bricks a course leading outward like a plank. Then do the same with the woods both facing each other like a bridge, then try walking across them to see how far you get before the bricks or wood snap apart...
Any movement when you apply a force is dissipation of that energy you are trying to put into hitting the object. There glue isn't holding the wood better than the brick, A: the brick is heavier, so the static load is much greater than the wood, and b: the energy you are putting into the wood as a dynamic load is being transferred into motion
The best way to use those anchors would be to put the anchors at a 45° angle away from your cinder blocks. Then it would be a heck of a lot harder to pull out. I would also take two cinder blocks and make a "L" shape with them using glue. Both long ways and use that as your frame. And put your test cinderblock in the crook of the L. Thay way the test blocks would have a nice platform to sit in. You should try the test again. I think those ideas would make a huge difference
Hey Tyler maybe u could have tried taking the cinder block and put it up a giant that tree the take 2 straps one in each whole and just crank it down to the trunk of the tree?
It's basically acting as a lever so it will be hard to keep straight. I would have tried to see if it can be fastened to the edge of a deck or something. Crazy how strong some of these glues can be though, it's usually the material that fails before the glue itself.
Great video as usual Dude. Would you do some research and try out some British Glues we have over in the UK for a potential future video? Maybe try USA vs UK: Glue Wars
Check out the podcast!!!

Hi :)
Test Flex Paste !!!!
can you test if using isopropyl alcohol on a surface before using glue makes that big of a difference? also you should've attached those straps to a vehicle.
TylerTube should have ratchet striped cenderblock to a tree an left it in the ground would of been able to stand on it that way like the videos!!
You're crushing man. Keep doing what you're doing
I have a great respect for the way you show your mistakes and not just your triumphs. I really enjoy your channel. Thank you for the information and entertainment.
I feel the same way! :)

Just gonna do one fat line down the center of each brick before I stack them on... hopefully that doesn’t hurt anything
Its like a window to the past, watching our ancestors learning to use tools...
😂😂😂
thats not very nice....at least he tries.
YES! the brick broke loose cause you changed the holding glue from 8" to 2 1/4" turning on its side and one strap from one direction to the other to keep the brick from slipping 🙊 might have helped. Zero science on this one...
today: tyler learns about leverage
And that grass and dirt are soft
A torque wrench would be a killer:)
Scott Pearson I love Tyler but I feel myself becoming autistic watching his videos
I wanna know how many tests he’s doing at once. Like how many videos of jars and stuff does he have off camera?
It must be a bag of stuff just off camera, right?
At least one
Sooo, many
One?
Cee Jay it’s more likely to be his entire garage, cluttered with strange materials in strange liquids... i’d still be his friend though he seems nice
Tyler’s literally the most humble and wholesome guy hahaha
It's pretty cool because he has very little experience with anything he does. He learns as he goes
hey tyler instead of using the dirt as an anchor try to use the trunk of a tree with the ratchet straps with the same glue up (or more spread out glue for a stronger setup and possibly clamp them together to help the glue set better). a tree wont budge and you can use its limbs to help balance yourself.

Tyler: I've gotten a little bit smarter
Me: yay
Tyler: but not much
Me: awe
The best part was when he used his body to hammer the chair into the ground, hammer like 30 chairs into your backyard
I had a good laugh at that also
😂😂😂 "that's pretty sturdy"... Chair is same height as ground
That was funny 🤣🤣🤣
My gf: I bet he’s thinking about other girls. Me: *insert any Tylertube video title*.

Best YT comment I’ve read in 2 weeks. Haha. I really did hear it too!
It’s like he starts to do it and then gets carried away with it lmao
That was entertaining, perhaps not the most scientific experiment but definitely entertaining.
It was supposed to be more entertaining than scientific. His Chanel is more “experimental” than serious if that makes sense
I love that Tyler puts up videos like this and doesn't fabricate the results. I appreciate the honesty of his videos regardless of if the outcome is surprising or not.

Me watching tyler strap brick to ground:
That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.
THIS WAS THE MOST COMICALLY UNSCIENTIFIC THING IVE EVER WATCHED AND ITS GLORIOUS.

next video okay, take 5 weird things and put them in a jar full of flex glue for thirty days
Are you trying to make him go broke? 😂
It'll take 30 days to fill the jars
Then deep fry it.
Could have glued a 2nd cinder block on top at first, then walked across
I like how ur channel is soo simple
Don’t beat your self up man! It was a good video! You did your best brotha! We can all see the dedication
This video is a mess and I love it.
LOL it's certainly on the edge of "is this real or is this scripted?".
I enjoyed every second of it!

Love this and how much effort he put in it. Slowly the ground eat him and his ankle looks broken. Dont hurt yourself bud!
here is a tip for thick adhesives like this one, stick them in a bucket of warm water for a bit. Helps soften them up
Tyler, u need to do FLEX PASTE, Phil rly out here making u more content😁
😂 my son and I have such a good time watching your videos. One of the best content creators. Keep it up my guy.
Why didn't you just glue the other side of the bricks to another cinder block? 🤔

Does that Calk gun have a long needle on it because you have to put that in the front of the tube to release all the glue

Did you clean the bricks before you started, making sure no loose pieces debris or dust?
I’m always high af passed 2 AM when watching your videos
The problem you’re having here is where you have the center of mass, and the straps have too much tension happening. You should create something to either be like a T shape with something going through the blocks, or put a counter balance on the exact opposite side of the base block.
At 5mins and 54 seconds so satisfied with the wood stack

Then do the same with the woods both facing each other like a bridge, then try walking across them to see how far you get before the bricks or wood snap apart...
Your videos always put me in a better mood! Thank you for that :)
a board under the cinder block might have done some good. without a flat surface one side will sink and the other wont, causing it to lean
You actually made me laugh out loud a couple of times there, thank you :)
The builders use it over here it's called CT1 comes in tubes you apply with a mastic gun
