Nice for keeping at it, I would've given up early into it. I used to build computers back in the days of win 95 era and mostly software issues was the sticking point but eventually got through it. Today is a little easier with the internet and sharing knowledge but back then it was alot of trial and error until i hit jackpot. Well done getting it working again, just goes to show how easy it was in the end with a software update for the drive.👍
@@Mickwild562 I am also the same I started on MS DOS and remember upgrading to Windows 3.1. Things were a lot more complex to set up back then everything required manual configuration. I am more out of touch with today's tech and you just assume things will be plug and play. I was quite surprised to find you need to install drivers for a windows installation seems like we have gone years backwards in my opinion.
980 pro owner myself. That version had a bad firmware! make shure it is on latest version!!!! if on Latest, everything is fine :) I think you had a BitLocker encryption problem. because you did not have the org. ssd. you needed to create a new windows boot manager in bios. And was what you did in a workaround way :) Glad it worked for you!
@micbanand Thanks for the heads up! the laptop is no longer with me but I will keep that in mind as I still have the heatsink version to install somewhere
