- This video is about our experience observing, training, and managing the Kangal Shepherd Dog. Now I'm the first one to admit that I am no expert on Kangals, or any other type of Anatolian Shepherd; this video is meant only to give and honest account of my personal experience and hopefully add to the public discourse concerning purchasing and living with any one of the many Livestock Guardian Breeds.
For more information: www.ukcdogs.co...
The Kangal Dog is an ancient flock-guarding breed, thought to be related to the early mastiff-type dogs depicted in Assyrian art. The breed is named for the Kangal District of Sivas Province in Central Turkey where it probably originated. Although the breed has long been associated with the family of the Aga of Kangal, large landholders and chieftains, the majority are bred by villagers who take great pride in the dogs ability to guard their flocks of sheep and goats from such traditional predators as the wolf, bear, and jackal. The relative isolation of the Sivas-Kangal region has kept the Kangal Dog free of cross-breeding and has resulted in a natural breed of remarkable uniformity in appearance, disposition, and behavior. Despite its regional origin, many Turks consider the Kangal Dog as their national dog. Turkish government and academic institutions operate breeding kennels where Kangal Dogs are bred and pedigrees are carefully maintained. The Kangal Dog has even appeared on a Turkish postage stamp.
The Kangal Dog was first reported in European and North American canine literature by David and Judith Nelson, Americans who studied the dogs while resident in Turkey. The Nelsons imported their first Kangal Dog to the United States in 1985. This dog, and subsequent imports, provided the foundation for the Kangal Dog in the United States.
The Kangal Dog was recognized by the United Kennel Club in 1998.

I’m a 56 year old lady who owns a Kangel. She is 6 years old and I love watching these videos bc they are exactly like she is. I do live alone so I always have a big dog for protection and warning and this is my first time having one and I will always have one. She’s amazing. I love this breed and respect this breed so much. I really can appreciate them for who they are. She’s very special to me. Thank you for these great videos
Thank you for watching!
Does she heel and have recall?
Are kangal shepherd and Anatolian shepherd similar dogs?
@@henryfriesen8614 similar in size.and they are both livestock gaurdian dogs.
In the process of trying to find an older rescue to complement me and my (very large and protective) Newfie. The adoption service likes that I already have giant dog experience, so 🤞🏻. I'm 69 and of a similar mind to you, so your post made me happy. 🥰 Good luck with your baby girl!
my Kangal is 25 months old, I raised her from a pup on my farm. showed her the perimeter of the farm, and she stays within it. Super observant, she guards the chickens and livestock 24/7, and takes her job very seriously. Best dog I’ve had…few distractions, so she caught on to her training effortlessly. Great breed for large areas, she will do a patrol of the property line twice daily. I do love my Boo!
Evet. Hareketli olman gerek. Yarı göçebe bir hayat sürmen gerek. Dur !
Neyse. Selamlar. Mutluluklar.
I like your comment about "meeting in the middle". That is dead on correct with this breed. An owner of a Kangal needs to be the leader, but respect the dog. It is a very fine line. Too much direction and you will lose the dog, too little and the dog will take over. I like to think of myself as my Kangal's manager. I get the final say, but there is often negotiation as to how things are done.
Absolutely Spot on😅❤...
It's a democratic discussion Here and then, Sometimes i let her decide which way we Go...but If IT count's, we're going my way...(Even If IT Takes some time for her to accept IT)
As a turkish and also a owner of a two lovely kangal dogs;i can say these dogs have an independent soul but also very protective for your family. You feel that ''i can go all action and danger situation for you mate!! attidute with these dogs!.''very clever and if you want a trained dog they are very clever and quick learner.very protective dogs.you can feel the love and respect to you.If you gave these dogs some love they dont forget it .These fellas have perfect memory.
Thanks for posting. I really appreciate it when people post real life experiences from different parts of the world.
Maybe I’ll make it over there one day to see these dogs in their natural environment!

It's the heaviest of any Kangal or Anatolian I've ever seen.
It's good seeing the calm/working side of this breed. So many clips are these snarling monsters of a beast lunging at the end of a big chain while making a grown man wish he wasn't holding the other end of that chain. It's good to see the "I'm just a dog too" side of the breed. Thanks Stonnie.
Kangals are actually amazingly calm against humans, nearly Golden Retriever level.
These dogs are generally gentle breeds but unfortunately Turkish people are trying to make them look intimidating by clipping the tail and ears off like it's a show-off. In their genetics they are always protective and loyal family dogs, but it still depends on the owner though. I hate seeing my people doing this to such majestic gentle dogs
Very very true for anyone that has never handled this breed of dog you will find out very quickly that you thought you were the stronger person and I am 6 ft 1 at 185 lb and in shape how to breed you really want to have to tangle with..
Being Turkish, I remember being in Turkey and seeing a bunch of Kangals. These dogs are freaking HUGE! The second you enter someone’s property they definitely make their presence be known. Awesome dog but also scary....... the fact that you don’t know if they have been trained / socialized etc. bit nerve racking seeing one confronting you 😂 all in all they are working guard dogs that go above and beyond to protect its Territory even if that means dying for it. Fearless / ruthless / confident / vigilante / intimidating/ relaxed

Wow, impressive... Thanks for sharing your experience!
You are talking about Anatolian Shepherd as Kangal are not huge that is a biggest misunderstanding.
Honestly the only downsides to them is needing a big space and early age training. They are stellar dogs.
Please cam i ask you about something that i am really interested in
Can i get a kangal but without having a big farm? I mean i have only a little garden and i want to be a guard dog
How protective she is with your kids is so precious. That is one safe family.
What a well behaved, well trained, relaxed dog. That is also a very large, very strong, very independent dog.👍

this is understanding dogs on a different level, brilliant vid, when the Kangal was looking at the deer, couldn't help but notice how your careing son put his arm around his little sister, that's great parenting right there, quality, Sir,
I love this video.
My husband and I had a male Kangal. He was a happy-go-lucky boy but very serious worker. He was friendly with our friends and was respectful to our old dogs. Unfortunately, he died in an unexpected accident while evacuating with the goats from a wildire. He was 7 years old then.
We still miss him and love the breed very much.

What a beautiful dog. Calm and majestic. Love that curly tail. Great video, thanks!

We have a 2 year old, male Kangal, and he is the sweetest boy ever.
They utilize their paws...a lot. Slapping and stomping. But very playfully in the house, to get attention and scritches.
They move slowly and with purpose. When they decide to haul, they are extremely agile and can probably keep pace with a running pony. But they generally don't run, if there isn't a cause. They do trot a lot, though.
They don't have a typical bark...it's kind of a combination hound dog howl combined with a true bark. Hard to describe. Ours does not bark often, so when he does, it is sudden, very loud, and can be startling.
They have a very playful personality, and they need at least 2 hours of outdoor time or they will eat your house. As in the drywall, your furniture, etc. These are big, thinking dogs, and they can do a lot of damage in minutes if they get bored or restless. They will walk on a leash, but they definitely prefer running free in open spaces, so a farm or a fenced back yard is needed.
Likewise, they were bred over 6,000 years to hunt for themselves on the open plain. Despite their size, they don't need many calories to maintain weight. (They get fat, quick.) That being said, they must be genetically eired to eat ALL the food, wherever they find it. This includes your kitchen counter, which they can easily reach. It seems that no amount of training stops this, so don't leave food out on the counter when you leave the house. It will not be there when you get back, no matter how much food is in their bowl.
They are very respectful, though, about letting you fill and take their food bowl. They quickly defer to you by walking away to a respectful distance if you mess with their bowl.
And they shed...a LOT. So much so that they easily choke out a rumba every day, no matter how much you brush them. In the spring and fall, forget it...it is ceiling to floor hair. (We use the furminator, too, which works best on thrir coat.)
They love children, and adopt them as "livestock" to be protected. Aggression is not their first go-to. They stand between a threat and whomever they are protecting first, and watch. They use their own bodies as shields, first. They very much communicate with body language and, because of this, they pay very careful attention to the body language of others around them. If a threat makes what they think is the "wrong move", then it is go-time, howling bark and all.
They absolutely love human interaction and belly rubs.
th-cam.com/video/CwBWl5Pr2SQ/w-d-xo.html
Can you have these dogs as just a pet like not protecting a stock if you get what I mean, like ofc they need a big garden bu can you have them the way you would have other dogs or do they need to live on a farm or something because I am interested in having this dog in the future but I dont want the dog to be unhappy or something and I dont want to ruin the breed aswell.
Also I know there is a difference between the anatolian shepherd and kangals so I dont know much about the behaviour differences bu would it be better to get one of them instead of a kangal to not ruin the working part of that dog or does it really matter ?
@@dommach718 yes it needs a big garden. But i think garden is not the only thing that they need.İf theres free grasslands they will be happier.İn our garden it doesnt see many people because of that it is more agresssive. But if you let another people to pet him it will be a social and harmless dog

what stood out for me was how the Kangal was more distracted about what was going on during the obedience course when little Charlotte was 'in charge'; seemed like she was making certain Charlotte was ok . Ready to take over if need be but willing to step back to even the youngest human member of the pack.
Mr. Dennis, one day these videos will be such a treasure for your children to be able to watch. You seem like a wonderful father and they will look back on you fondly. Dog training skills aside, these are great memories.

As I said earlier today, what a great dad. And what a great daughter. My daughter is now a 26 year old RN that grew up camping, shooting, canoeing and trapping. Thanks for all you teach us Uncle Stonnie.
Your daughter is adorable and so glad you are teaching her outdoor skills and treat her similar to your son. I do believe you have a gift as you can see how the dogs just gather around you vieing for your attention. Enjoy and thank you for all you do!

I am 52 years old. I have a male and 3 female Kangals. Spending time with them is very enjoyable. My house is right next to the forest. Their presence provides me with incredible security. I live in the village but I am quite far from the center of the village. No wild animal or malicious person can enter my land.
Their presence is priceless to me. I think once you have a Kangal, you will never have another breed of dog again.
This is the cutest video EVER! Charlotte is amazing with the dogs. She's got a great teacher! I love Kangals, such beautiful dogs.
What a great video. Beautiful dogs and family. That Kangal must be feeling practically in heaven with you guys. Liked & subscribed. Much love and respect from Turkey.
Loved seeing your kids interact with this dog, and how amazing the pup is learning the ropes.
We have two Kangle's ( Cricket and Mary Tyler) on our farm in Ohio. In the past, we had some problems with predators..Coyotes, some feral hogs and the rare occasion Panther, Mountain lion. After 2 years of the pair being on the property (we raise beef cattle) we have NO problems....when I say no problems I mean None. They are great with the Grand children and always on the guard, So be aware that if you are looking at this breed for protection, they need lots of room to run, they are extremely protective and can be unbelievably strong. Having said that I wouldn't take a dollar and a quarter for either.
KANGAL is the right name
dog newbie here, do you have to train them so they protect the live stock and attack predators? or is it a natural instinct
@@ciscoplank8107 Mostly natural, however, they have to be with the livestock on a regular basis. For example, some friends of ours have one, we have to pen our dogs when he comes over. Now, he has a good time running and playing but he doesn't know what his job is. He's a city dog. My dogs go with me everywhere on the farm and some trips to town. Occasionally, I leave them out with the herd all night (weather permitting) and they stay back away from the herd, but the herd is always in their sight, that's the way they were raised. I know your next question..have you ever had one take on another animal? Yes...final score House 2 predator 0. Dogs are like people, we are a product of our past. If you are a first time dog owner my advice is to go to someone that has them...You'll soon find out that these are very powerful dogs, they will not back down. This can be a problem if they are left alone to raise themselves..they must have boundaries, they have to understand you are the pack leader.
@@john9842 Hmmmm, interesting, I have recently bought a farm and soon I will be raising some cattle and sheep, I live in northern of british colombia, Canada, and there are a lot of wolves, coyotes, black bears, sometimes cougars. So I figured out I'm gonna need some dogs. I have heard that the Kangals are very independent and good shepherd dogs in general, I know they are huge and powerful but I'm willing to risk it considering I have never owned a dog before, so... uhhh, I'm gonna need some help.
I have a ton of questions, It would be greatly appreciated if you answer them cuz I know nothing about dogs. 😅😅
So they don't need training at all to protect the cattle and sheep? I buy them as puppies, feed them, take care, spend time with them, and make them get used to the livestock, and they will automatically guard? How will they know what they should guard against and what not? Is there special food to feed them from the supermarket, or just meat and chicken? Any vitamin pills they need to take? How often should I take them to the vet? Any potential health issues they might come across? Do I keep them outside all the time, even during the winter (btw its gets cold here, sometimes it can reach up to -20 C)? Do I have to put a leash on them and walk them everyday, or is them running around freely in the acreage enough? Is it best if they are as a pack (3 or 4 kangals together)? If yes, is it better if they are siblings? Does it matter if they are male or female?
Sorry, I know it's a lot but I'm extremely intrigued 😇

So glad this video showed up in my feed. It's plain to see that your relationship with her is a testament to patient, loving, but firm direction that a Kangal needs. What a wonderful example of the breed.
Love this video for so many reasons!!
The positive kind gentle training method you use is excellent. Too many times I see negative reinforcement but you show how you can train a huge (potentially deadly ) dog in a way where there is respect for one another while still being pack leader. It was also a pleasure to watch how you interact with your children, teaching them some amazing life skills that school just can’t come close to doing. What a lovely bond between you all. Great video that doesn’t just show the qualities of this majestic dog but shows great parenting skills also
Thanks for sharing 😊
its interesting how autonomous, independent, and discerning some of the guarding dogs can be.... I suppose that is an important skill to have when you are trusted with awesome responsibility, to work unsupervised and protect their families property
Look how awesome your son is with your daughter! @17:31 putting his arm around her and showing her something!
My buddy rescued a Anatolian Shepherd years ago and she’s great. They’re up in Laramie Wyoming and she loves the cold weather. She’ll beg to camp out in 14 degree weather during winter.

You are a real man, sir! Raising your children (boy and girl), training your dogs, doing your job well, knowing your stuff etc. Thank you!
You are pretty accurate with your descriptions, the bluff charge statements are dead on. All the Anatolians and Kangals I have owned do it exactly the same way.
Another great educational experience Stonnie. Thank you to you and your families' outdoor adventures.

Found your video a couple days ago and what I like is your natural way with the dog ,that's how I used to work my dogs and I am glad you confirmed my suspicion about these beautiful (shepherds) Kangals
I own an Anatolian shepherd. When you said "biological predisposition " I subscribed. You obviously know how to o evaluate a dog's personality as well. I agree these dogs have a mind of their own. Do not tie them up with rope! Those teeth will go through rope like a knife through butter.
Best video I've seen in a very long time!

Stonnie - thank you for your work with these dogs and videos. Charlotte did a great job!
Appreciate the hard work in making this insightful video about Kangal dog, Mr Stonnies 🙏
Wonderful video and a special dog breed. Your insights are really helpful to understand why they behave the way they do but also to point out what kind of lifestyle and environment this dog would thrive in.
Such a precious video. Very impressive handling. Labs are my heart strings but now I have a new found love of Kangals ....truly magnificent creatures.
Great video and your calm demeanor with the dogs is excellent. We have a boy Anatolian mix (not sure with what) who looks a lot like the lady dog your working with, just more freckled black muzzle. Your general observance of the dogs exactly matches his temperament. Independent (kinda stubborn), super alert, likes woman & kids and our family - super protective. Small boy by Kangal standards at 100 lbs, but tall and full neck. Only real downfall is his constant shedding since he’s in and out of our house. 👍🏽
Awesome video Stormy! The Kangals are such a beautiful breed! Thank you!
I love your relationship with your beautiful girl. You obviously don’t feel a need to bully her.
Love how Rhea's favorite is Charlotte. A joy to watch that interaction. Thanks for the education on this breed, it was enlightening. Big dogs are wonderful. They sure can make a big house seem really small, tho. 😊
I have an Anatolian Shepherd. Lulabelle is small for her breed she is 80 pounds.
I started socializing her as soon as she had all her shots. I take her everywhere with me. I’m stores that allow dogs. We also spend many days a week at the dog park. She is a great dog.
My dog is a Black Mouth Cur, Rhodesian Ridgeback and Kangal mix.... We rescued him from the shelter when he was 12 months old. He was dropped off at the shelter 4 times before I gave him his forever home. He's fearless, high energy, Powerful, intelligent, eager to learn. I used to have a coyote dog and then a chow mix before "Odin". I'm used to an independent strong dog. I work at home and he spends all day and night with me everyday. It's a Huge responsibility unless it truly fits into your active lifestyle. If you work a 9 to five or live in an apartment then you should consider an easy couch potato dog that doesn't mind spending lots of time alone. An intense, intelligent and powerful dog is Not for you and it's not fair to the animal. He's expensive. He eats real meat everyday and high quality kibble. We go on huge walks everyday and woods adventures when we can. It's almost more like a roommate than a pet. On the other hand, he's by myside day and night. I always feel very safe. I haven't seen another dog that he was afraid of in the least. He stays completely calm. If anyone ever tried to hurt me I'm sure it would be a crazy mistake. I do everything that I can to socialize him and make him my sweet boy. His natural hunting and guarding instinct is extremely strong. He loves the family like his own pack. I'm trying to say that unless you really have time and you truly love it then don't get stars in you eyes. I'm Shannon and he's Odin. We're a team. It's a whole lifestyle choice. Think really hard before you get a Kangal or a Kangal mix like mine. It is something very special but it's also a big deal.
That's a nice looking dog, I like the way you are with your kids and dogs, I would have to say you're doing a great job sir living the dream
Ria so at ease with your daughter. Accepted her hug at the table freely without any nervousness.

Yup, Kangals absolutely tolerate kids. They are like: "hmm I am going to protect this little furless cutesy thingy.. allright"
Gorgeous dog that you have. Mine is a CAO dog originally from Romania, very similar to a Kangal that stands 74 cm tall at the wither and weighs 115 lbs. Rule #1 socialize, socialize, socialize the animal with the family and close friends. When unknown people come over, lock up or tie-up the dog. They are very protective of property, family and other animals that it bonded to. #2. Basic commands and a lot of times they will ignore it because of their independent mind set. #3. high fences and posted fences because of it's highly defensive aggression/highly territorial nature of the dog. These dogs are very powerful!!!! #4. when it matures, NO DOG PARK (understand your dog's temperament: soft, mild or hard). These unique dogs aren't for everybody. Schöne Grüße aus Bayern. Hello from Bavaria.
Curious on why no to the dog park after it matures? I have a one year old half Kangal/Great Pyrenees and he is literally the only dog at the park that shows zero aggression. He will walk away from any unstable dog. He only barks at shady people with out dogs.
Thanks Stonnie,
I have an Australian blue healer mixed with ???
It has recently been proposed that the Kangal is part of his mix.
-He has the curled up tail.
-Looseness of the skin around his shoulder blades and neck.
-He’s quite a bit larger than the average blue heeler. Closer to the size of a German Shepherd. His skull is much larger than the Australian blue healer. To look at him you might think he was a cross between a German Shepherd and Australian blue heeler. However that doesn’t explain other characteristics.
Many of the characteristics you described are characteristic of him:
-Sniffing around and getting acquainted with every nook and cranny. He has been a traveling dog so he has a new environment to check out quite frequently.
-Taking pausing in his meanderings and checking out the environment overall. I borrow from these skills that he naturally possesses to alert me to details of the environment I can no longer hear.
-The way he will approach somebody FAST who is approaching us. Most of the time Phoenix is silent rather than barking in his approach. 98% of the time he stops and sniffed them once he is close enough to touch.
-Phoenix is seriously a decision making dog. A lot of our training has needed to focus on giving him acceptable choices to choose from.
Phoenix is my Service Animal in Training. We have done his training with no financial backing. Most of my education has been through TH-cam videos. I am delighted to say your heel work using the rubber mats was one of the first lessons I took to heart.
I hope to do some traveling in the next few months. Perhaps you will welcome our presence at your facility and help us clean up some of our challenging spots when we are passing through your part of the world.
Thanks for all you do.

One story I have about a Labrador is the dog knew you had to turn the door knob to open the door. He would literally mark a door knob up with teeth marks trying to turn the knob, by bite down on the knob and turning it with his teeth! Tell me that dog wasn’t paying attention! Truly an intelligent animal! Thanks for getting back to me, I really appreciate it!
You have a good grasp of the English language and give clear and concise information.
Gerard Rice Thank you!
Nice presentation. I have been living with Kangals for a bit now and they are fine working Dogs.
Great video!!! I love your manner with your kangal and the kids. Well done, Stonnie!
I have to say this was the best dog video I’ve seen for ages! Always been fascinated with Kangal’s and you broke down her behaviour and temperament down perfectly. Also make me think about how my Cane Corso reacts to his environment as well! He sniffs the same things always and always goes out in front and checks back as well. Maybe not quite as diligently as your Kangle but it’s there. Would love to get a kangal one day but you need a very large space for them.
Thank you!
Kangal were bred to protect livestock (They are not personal protection dogs, like a Doberman). All LGD’s (Livestock Guardian Dogs) are bred for this and have hundreds of years of evolution in their pedigree. Their herd and family are always under their watchful eye. They do need training and socialization to help them determine friend from foe, and to aid the owner in managing them. I can’t wait to get one!
That is the thing that i would like to see always which is the harmony between nature and the kids. Love it.
We just got one and this video gives me so much joy!
A good friend of mine has an Anatolian shepherd named Jaeger. She has been doing scent work & tracking/trailing with him for many years. (I'm in the same groups with my Siberian Huskies 😊) Jaeger is excellent in both types of nose work. We always observe how he doesn't waste a single calorie of energy when he's working. He's very deliberate. So it's extra fun when he starts to prance a little after a successful search. My male Siberian, who is not the most confident dog in the world, is terrified of Jaeger. 😅 I think your video is spot on about theses dogs.
What a Beautyful and Powerful DOG !!!
Really good video Stonie, very enjoyable, partly due to it involving my dream dog. 👍
Her disposition is fantastic, I really dig how detached she is yet doing everything on the obstacle course almost as in passing and I really like the ears left intact.
America is lagging behind on abandoning the custom of docking ears and tail.
I'm so sweet on this breed after a life long obsession with Dobermans
She's beautiful.
Your daughter Charlotte is absolutely adorable and she did such a good job. 👍👏👏
Thank you!
WE have been going to Turkey for over 20 years now and have witness these dogs when they are with the Sheep hearders out and about in daily routine belive me these dogs are so loyal to to Sheppards who own them. Very Loyal not to be mest with when they kick off.
Not a recommendation for a domestic pet!
Powerful dog!
Bob
These are great dogs! There was a breeder not far from where we are and she places these incredible dogs with junior handlers and they are just incredible
My Anatolian has a lot of these traits. people often comment how chill she is. She's a quiet observer until wants to alert me of someone or something encroaching. Like most dogs, she really wants to be a good dog.
I like how the breed is so laid back and when need be they go to 100 really quick
I adore this breed.
They are definitely interesting...
Stonnie Dennis one day I will have one. But I want to be sure I have a larger home when I do.
@@vanity68 I would not recommend a "home" as much as a big... And I mean BIG yard... Fenced would.be better... I cannot imagine that bark indoors... These are not pets as much as they are watch dogs who love to be out in the elements
@@uprightfossil6673 yeah my Aussie has a jet engine for a bark, deafening
@@StonnieDennis what a great video! We had 2 Anatolian crosses and just lost one to bone cancer. My whole life living with goldens and a pom mix, they were the first dogs I couldn't train myself (they were adult rescues and had behavioral issues as well). I found a professional dog trainer and behaviorist, and we trained/rehabbed them. I have tremendous respect for them. They were wonderful members of our family and I even had them certified as therapy dogs. We were devastated when we lost one to bone cancer this spring and are looking for his successor. I've watched and re-watched this video and keep coming back to wanting another LGD, specifically a Kangal. They might not be your ideal dog, but this video reminded me exactly why they're my ideal dog for our family and situation as we encounter more coyotes and black bears in the suburbs on the east coast each year. In fact, we constantly let our dog out when a few black bears were in the area this summer. He "constantly" barked along the perimeter (not typical for him unless we see the threat), and the bear didn't come to our neighborhood this year.
Thank you for sharing these snippets of your work and life. They really do make a difference!
I have a Great Pyrenees / Saint Bernard mix that has a lot of similar traits! Especially the watching quality...Frida is very observant of her environment and you can see her actively deciding whether something is a threat or not. I always say my two boxers are the alarm dogs (all bark no bite...actually vicious barking til whatever it is gets too close, then hiding behind me LOL ) but Frida is the quiet protector. If she barks, I know there's something going down I need to check out!
One of my dream dogs, I’ll get one someday.
great environment, just loved everything about the video! happiness and health to you and your loved ones!
Ive learned so much about my White GS by watching your channel. She is not a lab and thats ok.
Thanks
My Anatolian Shepherd is a year and 4 months he is about 34 1/2 at the shoulder and 125 130 lbs all the things you said about that breed are exactly true this dog is very observant very intelligent and I have owned many of dogs English bulldogs Bouvier's Mastiffs English Mastiffs American bulldogs Huskies Rottweiler. The Anatolian Shepherd is definitely a mentally different dog great breed I love them
Great video Stonnie, lots of great information. I couldn't stop watching. I have to agree with Will Horn, makes me proud to be an American!
I needed this video today!!!!! I'm picking up 2 anatolian shepherd males home tomorrow morning!
There is a difference between Kangal and Anatolian shepherds
Great dogs, beautiful kids and a very nice video. Thumbs up!
Love how you train the dogs they love it thank you for sharing them all.👌👌👌
Lilamac Guinness123 Thanks for watching!
With your cool, calm demeanor I'll bet you could even train a bear or a lion/tiger. That mutual understanding and patience goes a long way to communicating trust and reliability. Kudos!
Awesome and beautiful dog what a fun day Stonnie, Georgie and Charlotte
Have one and can’t be more happier with her great loving dog powerful for sure
Stunning beautiful Kengal dog.
Wow Stonnie! You are amazing with dogs. You look and sound super intelligent! I would love to have a conversation with you. I have found the real dog whisperer 😂 I like how you get along with your children and dogs. I bet you are their role model. Anyway, I hope you, the doggos, and your family are all having a great day!
My brother gave me one of these dogs 30 years ago. He was a puppy and I had no idea what breed he was. A veterinarian identified Zack as a Kangal. I used to jog with him until one day he wouldn't come running with me.
I think he decided running was for smaller dogs.
Respect! Love what you are doing with your family
Thank you!
Another wonderful video on how to manage a dog...respect and care. My only worry is, with dogs like the Kangal and Caucasian and other similar breeds is the inappropriate owner, with shall we say delinquent tendencies, we have problems in UK with Mastiff type breeds being kept in high rise apartments as guards 🤪 but with proper care and forethought about the needs and appropriate environmental conditions needed for such dogs....well, you've just witnessed just how wonderful they can be. Well done Stonnie for the lesson Sir.👍
cerberusk9uk From what I can tell, these dogs only belong in rural settings...
I hear ya...its a shame more people don't understand about dogs and their specific needs, great video again Stonnie, loving your work.👍👍👍
I am impressed by the way you referred to your daughter as a child and not a kid
Same thing different words 😂
She is such a beauty and a gentle giant great breed🥰🐾
