Loved the center home button and the fact it has a removable battery, i still have mine from 2014....might need to just buy a newer battery doesnt stay charged for very long lol
I still use mine. :) It has a ton of features that modern phones have removed. I want a "remastered/updated" S5. Better CPU and RAM, more internal storage, better screen (one that doesn't burn in - not amoled/oled), no holepunch/notch, etc.
@@martin360gamer9 Well the battery is replaceable, so you can easy buy a new one. My battery can even last a few days, if I use my phone lightly. Performance at least with Google Play Services installed is terrible, but that's not the fault of the phone as much as it's the fault of Google Play Services becoming more and more bloated. Of course, this also consumes more battery life... so without it it could be even better. Bear in mind, I say this because I run a custom ROM. With a custom ROM you have the option of not installing Google Play Services and instead relying on F-Droid/Aurora Droid/Aurora Store for downling and installing apps. Doing so gives you more security and more privacy, if you do it right. I can for example run a firewall app that works at the system level, meaning I can block apps I don't want (or don't trust) from accessing the internet.
I loved my Galaxy S5 but it got lost we looked everywhere for repeatedly and it was nowhere to be found ... the phone I got after that which I won't say here what it is but I didn't like it at all from day one . And I thought the Galaxy S5 took the best photos they were beautiful -- the color and everything . Yes I'd love a remake of the Galaxy S5 but with some upgrades . I can't recall what are some of the things that had an apps it had that phones don't have nowadays I just can't recall but can you refresh my memory ... ? All I know is I love that phone also it was a little bit wider which made it better for watching things when I wasn't on the laptop or computer
Yes I had a few of these and loved them! The fingerprint sensor was a swipe in any direction I believe as long as it matched your fingerprint, but I loved it! It worked very well for me because I don't like the sensors that you have to use your index finger for!
Its interesting that he was actually speaking more positively on the S5 than the S6 while the S6 he just said to avoid that phone like crazy. Although I'm sure neither one is recommended to buy and use today.
Still my daily phone. Now on second battery bought last year. Lives in an otter box since day one. Lasts three days before charge required while on idle, way longer on ultra power save mode.
Dune running smoothly on an S5? My S6 Edge lagged pretty bad in 2018, and my S5 from before it would've struggled too. Shows the impact of a clean install.
I'm watching on one now! It does look good, including the screen for sure, but the hardware is aging too much for me. (Don't worry, I have a newer phone)
What do you mean it can barely download apps that doesnt make any sense. Its not like youre trying to run a modern game or something. Downloading data is a very basic function.
I had an S4 LTE-A (SD800 model) from late-2016 to early-2018, and hands down, it was the best phone I've ever owned; even compared to my current S23 Ultra. Despite the bad battery life, and the Wi-Fi occasionally dropping out (which eventually got so bad I had to stop using it), it was a great phone. I ran many different ROMs on it, and I actually still have it to this day. It'd probably still work well as a basic phone even in 2024.
@@I_I_l_l_I I ran numerous different ROMs on mine. Some AOSP/Lineage based, some TouchWiz/Grace UX based. On a regular S4, there aren't as many good Samsung-based ROMs. I think one of the last ROMs I installed on it was an Oreo-based version of LineageOS (can't remember the version number).
It's really fascinating and nostalgic to watch vids of old phones😢
I want one and miss my one
That phone looks so better, the icons on the s3 s4 s5 the theme the design ♥️
It’s crazy the SSGS5 was my first ever phone I got In 5th grade I’m 20 years old now

Wait does the phone still work fine? Like how is the battery life and all? does it last an entire day?

There is no better screen than oled.
Xcover 5 is the closest thing

This was the first “new” smartphone I ever got, my parents bought it for me Christmas 2014. Used it for almost 3 years!
a problem with the apps maybe not being able to use certain apps from today ?

This phone for me is worth it as a main phone. I can easily root this phone, slap a custom rom in there and call it a day.

@@MubinMubinn Thank you!!
If only it had stock Android or something like Motorola UI. TouchWiz wasn't that good
Easily fixed with a custom ROM (which you'd wanna do anyway considering it's 10 years old)
Can i have that phone plsss,I really need MHL on that variant and now there is no shop to buy
I LOVED my S5
Do you wanna sell it ?
I am so relieved
My old one had a big battery explosion
And it was so severe
It made me cry so hard, it did not last long and was too hot

Why is people always hating on Samsung s1-67 thes phones are great
It was my brother phone in his childhood and now I didn't have the charger
The usb charge cable that charges with the end before the type c charger end is all you need.
