The four confidences in the process, the instruction, the past and in learning. It's 24 pages short and to the point written by the charismatic heavyweight boxer Edward Latimore. Stepping into the ring knowing you can get hurt can overwhelm the toughest combative sports athletes. Ed shares his insights on how he built his confidence, leaving out the usual self-development fluff.
Taking action, learning along the (right) way, eliminating mistakes from happening again and actively seeking good sources ― that's how confidence is built.
"The Four Confidences are based on cold, hard experience, not theory. The same way I got confidence in my boxing, mathematical, and social abilities is what I teach here. When I wasn't confident in my self to stay sober, I relied on these techniques to help me stop drinking." ― Ed Latimore

A smart man learns from his mistakes. A stupid man doesn't learn from his mistakes. A wise man learns from someone else's mistakes.
The idiot doesn't think that he can make a mistake.

"If you are going through hell, keep going" probably my favorite quote ever...im sure everyone is afraid to hit rock bottom but if you're already rock bottom in hell, I think a certain strength is developed by continuing to move forward in the presence of hellish situations....at least that's what it means to me

To me it means that if you'll stop you'll just stay there, in hell. So you gotta keep moving if you don't want to be there.

You're personal story on this path to confidence reminded me of my own story: An abusive and pride driven father, myself suffering through depression, anxiety and crippling insecurity until I took up martial Arts in the second half of high school. By the end, I was fearless, and confident like never before.

Back at it again! This one's been a long time in the making. Hope you like how it turned out. I know plenty of you can relate. I've no doubt trusting yourself / holding yourself in high esteem is one of the key things for a good life. Having insecurities is nothing to be worried about as long as you're working on yourself.
Taking action, learning along the (right) way, eliminating mistakes from happening again and actively seeking good sources ― that's how confidence is built.

PS: Ed's a great and inspiring guy, because he's real. It seems to me very few things are real today. That's why I decided to share his content adding a bit of my own. *Thanks for watching and being patient.*

Not only this video... But this channel share so much intellectual and moral power that I don't know if it is for the worst or the best that so few people (relative for the internet) know about it.
Anyway, I just hope that everybody can listen clearly all the knowledge being shared without distorting the information (either by twisting your words, or by taking in as absolute instructions)
    Keep the amazing job.

This video has really hit home for me. I had confidence issues growing up probably b/c my dad was abusive and egotistical as well. I'd figured having no dad was better than one that always puts you down. If I didn't know how to do something he would thoroughly shame me b/c he always learned by watching (with no instructions) and doing things " automatically." And he always had to bring it to the next level to gain the upper hand if I fought back he would threaten to kill me. But once I let my ego go and let him be the leader, as he refers himself as, I was able to get enough space to make plans to gain my independence and confidence. Thx for the video I finally feel like I can share with someone who experienced something similar.
p.s. boxing has really helped regain my confidence in defending myself. But most importantly it removed my fear when in a confrontation, allowing me to think clearly enough to talk him down from killing me in my sleep (since he now knows he can't beat me in a fight).

"if I fought back he would threaten to kill me."
That's not a father (although biologically he might be), those are the words of a psychopath. Sorry you had to go through that (I went through similar, and constantly battle the feelings of inferiority planted in me). Hope you're in a better place today.
