As someone who remembers the 60s, I honestly don't think it ever looked that good - even brand new from the store. You have a way of bringing out beauty in furniture that was just a mass produced piece that you'd buy at Sears for a couple hundred dollars. Amazing!
Everything piece of furniture you take on looks better than when it was new. Your commitment to this kind of work makes it such a pleasure to watch. Such a fan of your work.
I confer ‘a ditto’ to that: the furniture looks better than brand new with the hiding of that wee bend in a few wood fibers you took care of by photo-touching it. That’s what I’d call it anyway. It looks kinda like when I touched up color prints at a photography studio. At any rate, take a bow, you did it again. Bee u tifull.
@@TranscendFurnitureGalleryproud of you. Your teaching is so good. Thank you. It is a delight to see how well she looks now. Hello to the Katzens and BunRabs .
I was a kid in the 70s, and SO MANY PEOPLE had this exact set of bedroom furniture. My parents liked a more colonial style of furniture that used to be built and sold in Massachusetts, so I always thought that these pieces were the height of luxury (because solid-wood furniture with more traditional styling was "boring" to me at the time, LOL). I am so glad to see this one getting some love.
I really enjiyed this! My parents had this set when I grew up. When I was a teenager it was considered out of "style". I hhhated it! I was so happy when they got rid of it. Now it's my dream set. I would love to have it back. I still remember how it felt and how the drawers sounded. Thanks for the memories! You did a great job (as always)!
Consider printing a QR code for the restoration YT video and include it with the piece. Even better would be a permanent way to add your video QR code. Imagine how cool it would be the buyers to see all the work you put into making things useful and beautiful. I enjoy your work, your cats and your rabbits. Best wishes for 2025
I love the way you restore mid-century furniture. It's furniture from my generation and I'm glad you're bringing it back to its former beauty and shine. If I were sure that you could do the same for me, who am 60 years old, I would come to your house right now so you could restore me 😂😂 Congratulations! Good job! It's not about the quality of the furniture, but about the love with which you restore it.
My brother still l this set! (Wedding bedroom suite) from 1969. I think your redo is more lovely than the original - your finishing coats turned out gorgeous.
Wow! Talk about being better than new! The way you bring out the beautiful depth of the grain in your pieces always surpasses the original finish on these mass produced pieces. I love the way wood grain plays with light.
Beautiful result. Thank you. As a young man, I used to live in the small city (Victoriaville) where this piece was made. Victo, for short, has one of the very best school for woodworking.
I haven't redone furniture in 40 years ( I just do not have the place to do it) but I love watching you work on furniture. You are so much better than any others I have seen.
Hi Angie, I hope that one day you'll be able to have your furniture store again. You have such a great approach to furniture restoration. One day you could travel to France, go to neighbourhood broccantes - and Italy second hand furniture stores, fill a container bound for Canada. You could probably pay for your trip after you restore the furniture. Most of the furniture is solid wood. I think you'd have a ball. Or, you could do what you're doing so beautifully! You always make the furniture live up to a greater promise. Thank you for sharing your talent. I really appreciate it! The other Angie ☺💗
One of the things I love about your work is the “painting” you do on things like that chip to mimic the wood grain. In Thomas Jefferson’s home, many of the doors were faux grained to look like mahogany.
What a magnificent result. You make even the humblest piece of furniture look rich and luxurious. I do so enjoy watching you work. Thank you for uploading the video.
Beautiful work as usual! I have to say that your work stands out way above every other furniture flipper and it’s because of the time, effort and your knowledge of wood and products that make your work amazing!!!
I was 7 when this was made! I have watched your contemporaries do furniture make overs when waiting for your videos, by far I believe (personal opinion) you have the best videos in furniture make overs. I like the voice over better than someone in a garage talking loudly or yelling at me. You have a love for the furniture and the wood that comes across vs just a want to flip furniture. I took high school shop and have a love for wood, I go into stores (furniture and thrift) run my fingers over finishes, guess it's just a touch thing, but you know what I mean. The piece is lovely, still I wish you were in the states, but then again NS is a lovely place to live. Can't wait till the next piece.
The richness factor is off the scale - so much a warmer and softer feel overall. Really enjoyed the video of the inspectors in the shop - exceptional feline wisdom/curiousity combo…🐈🐈
I'm a 70's kid, and I remember a couple of my mom's friends had this dresser and the matching bedroom pieces. Never my favorite style, but you managed to make this one really lovely!
Astounding how the lighter wood pops like gold when you opened the drawers. Such an incredible piece for someone to use again. Thank you Angie for bringing beauty back in the world.
What a remarkable makeover! This piece now has such a lovely glow, almost buttery. The design looks new and charming as well, rather than battered and dated. Gorgeous work as always Angie! The 60s never looked so good :) x
Wow! What a difference! Guaranteed, when this was originally made, they wouldn't have been thinking that it would be around for ca 60 years - and most definitely they would never have even dreamed that this piece could look sooooooooo good.
Very beautiful as always. To get paper off that is mod podged on I spray vinegar all over and let it set until it's all saturated then it's so easy to scrape off ,then I use goo gone to get any adhesive off. It usually works great.
My goodness! This chest of drawers looks so beautiful now! ❤❤❤ I remember seeing this style as a young kiddo, but it wasn't as great as you made it look! 😉 I'm super happy to see your inspection team hard at work! 😻❤️😻
I grew up with this kind of furniture, and you do such a fabulous job of making it look even better than when it was new. Thank you for sharing your artistry! 🌞👍🏻
Watched this video while rocking my daughter’s senior cat. I know you will appreciate that as much as I appreciate your great video. Your constant knowledge always guides me and thank you for sharing your talents!
That came out much better than I was expecting. It's interesting to me that most of the channels I watch doing restorations like this do work for a client vs something they have to convince someone else to buy. This came out beautifully. Hope 2025 treats you well
I love MCM but the form of this piece is not one of my favorites. However, you transformed this chest of drawers into a lovely, lovely piece. Your ability to see what objects can be - and to make it so - is why I await your videos! ❤
I love mid century furniture. The lines, legs, and hardware are unique in these pieces compared to what we see today, in my opinion. It's so nice to see things like this brought back to life. Wish I had your talent and your patience! You do great work.
Another beautifully restored piece, elevated beyond its original state. I find your work inspirational, and watching your workshop sessions feels meditative. My weekends aren’t complete without my cup of coffee and a Transcendent video.
This is a wierd comment. I'm looking forward to watching this video because I can tell this piece will look amazing when you're done! Now I'll get to watching 😅
Another home run! It really is beautiful!...I really like the contrasts in the colors/tones (from the darker/mellow exterior to the soft/pale interior).
Just amazing! I’m glad you got through the Mod Podge- you stated you weren’t patient enough, but you were and the result is worth it! You never disappoint, Angie- this in a gorgeous reveal! 💖🌟
It's so nice to see a new video from you. Your knowledge of wood species is second to none. Seeing how this guides your stain and finish selections is so impressive. Not to mention your carpentry skills, girl, you have it all! You deserve a million followers.

I know I’ve said this before, Angie, but the artist in you really comes out through your furniture transformations! This piece turned out stunning❣️

Awe, thank you so much!! ☺️
LOVE YOUR FURNITURE! ADORE YOUR STAFF! FABULOUS VIDEO!!!
Dottie!!! You're back!!!! You have been missed!! ❤️
You made that piece look so high end. I remember the 60’s also. Our furniture never looked as good as this piece you just refinished.
