A Second Chance

Myuran Sukumaran (17 April 1981 - 29 April 2015) was an Australian who was convicted in Indonesia of drug trafficking as a member of the Bali Nine. Sukumaran taught English, computer, graphic design and philosophy classes to his fellow prisoners. By order of the Indonesian government, Sukumaran was executed by firing squad on 29 April 2015 along with Andrew Chan and six other prisoners. Sukumaran and the other seven prisoners refused to be blindfolded. They sang Amazing Grace before being shot by a 12-member firing squad.

The death penalty is the single most barbaric and pointless tool of punishment in the history of the planet, rehabilitation should challenge the criminal act and behaviour and at worst permanent incarceration as the last recourse. R.I.P......such young men and women too, I hate drugs but I would not kill someone in cold blood for something like that.

Corrupted system.. Murderers can survive the death penalty but those who readjust and pay their dues to society are put to death....

Thank you for this beautiful video. All my respect and love to Myuran and Andrew, the inmates participating in the rehabilitation programs and all the volunteers and prison staff. We don't see prisoners, only dignified, talented and happy students. I am so touched at what is being achieved in this humble prison and I hope it is valued, not wasted. The role of a good prison, is to help people to change and not to condemn them to death. Mercy please for Myuran and Andrew.
