  • I take you on a quick journey through my completed tube of different year canadian silver maple leaf coins. This particular goal has been a long time in the making so Im glad I finally got there, with some interesting iterations too...including the rarest standard issue year, 1997

      Cheers dude. I'm really pleased with this tube actually. That 1997 wasn't easy to find for a good price so Im happy with that!

    What's interesting with Canadian coinage is that the third and fourth portrait of Her Late Majesty are being designed by Canadian sculptors Dora De Pedrey-Hunt and Susanna Blunt respectively instead of the ones designed and provided by the Royal Mint. Gotta love them Silver Maples

    I was able to pick up 100 of the 1997 maples at $6 USD each way back around 2000 off of ebay. I think I still have about 4 of them but sold off the others about 10 or 20 at a time for about $70 USD each a few years later. Definitely one of the best financial decisions I ever made. I feel if the price of silver goes quite high, the premium for 1997's won't be that great so that's I got rid of them.

    Always great to achieve a goal, big lad. And congrats on picking up the '97! Funny you were talking about Trump - I saw a placard at the demo in Glasgow yesterday that simply said, "Fuck Off Ya Wotsit!". Love it. Thanks for the show!

      Hi Big Lorry and Noob. I live in the middle of Maple Leaf country and work in a coin shop to boot and I have only been able to acquire five 1997 Maples. There are a few other Maples from the 90's that are also scarce. I have only 8 91's, 644,300, 3 92's 343,000, 2 93's 889,946, 4 94's 1,133,900, 13 95's 326,244, (I got lucky here), 3 96's 250,445, 2 98's 591,359, 2 99's 1,229,442 and 5 1999/2000 298,775. These are all mint sealed gems with no spots and abrasions; not so easy to find. The others are plentiful. Your '97 is worth putting in an airtite as it is worth quite a bit, so it might be a good idea to pick up another Maple to complete the roll.

    I understand the concept of the 'incuse' but I was wondering, since it's incuse on both sides, would you not lose a tiny amount of weight in the total oz?

    • @StackerNoobUK
      @StackerNoobUK  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never thought of that! But I can tell you these weight a very slight amount over 1 oz, so I guess they make it up somehow, the incuse is very very slight too.

    • @fugoogle5802
      @fugoogle5802 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Silver goes into a HUGE amount of products, correct? Correct and that is why the price MUST stay low, very low and will never go up and stay up. Silver's problem is that it is a very necessary ingredient in products for companies that trade on Wall Street. Companies know that if Silver goes to $40 and stays there the American economy would fall hard. If Silver went to $100 per ounce and stayed there in just over a year the World economy would collapse. Wall Street will NEVER allow silver to go up and stay up. Wall street purchases tons of Silver and dump it and short it constantly to avoid it ever going and staying up and they are very good at it! Even the public would scream for the government to step in and stop the rise of Silver because 80% of products they buy would be rising daily. Do Not buy Silver as an investment it is NOT one.

    • @StackerNoobUK
      @StackerNoobUK  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I would agree and disagree with you. Silver does go into a huge amount of products, but it does o in tiny amounts. Therefore overall demand is high, but it is thinly spread demand. It means that even if silver went to $100 per ounce, we would see almost no change in end product prices. The fact that it is so highly demanded yet so cheap tells you that it is indeed being quashed price-wise, but the laws of supply and demand always extert themselves eventually, and the longer the manipulation the more violent the correction. Thanks for watching in any case!
