- This episode has us back up at Steve Strope's Pure Vision Design. I love the cars Steve builds and this one is by far one of my favorite cars he's ever done. It won the Ford Design Award at SEMA. It's been on Jay Leno's show. Hoonigan featured it in an episode. This car has so many unique hidden touches that I can't wait for you guys to see and hear all the details.

For me, this car is freaking perfection. I can see it running in Super Stock at Pomona, carving the apexes at Riverside, flat out on the Mulsanne straight at LeMans... this is a car with the best kind of identity crisis. Mean, nasty, rude, BAD ASS, and somehow classy all at the same time. Like I said, to my eye it’s perfection.
Steve is such a passionate dude when talking about cars! Love it!!

@@AutotopiaLA Correct. John Kasse made an all Aluminum version of the 427 SOHC Cammer V8 that can produce over 800 HP.
Steve is an automotive artist. I love the how you let him talk and explain the complete thought process on his builds. Thanks for the great videos, please do more with Steve!

Shawn, thanks for taking us with you on your rides, i'm falling more and more for these classic muscle and protouring cars.
This is such a gorgeous good looking car! I mean those wheels, that stance, the color and the whole mechanical engineering that went into this car makes is so fabulously beautiful. The only thing that bothers me are the missing headrests. I'm well aware how headrests standing out above the waistline would spoil the perfect lines of the car, but neck snapping torque, a halfcage and no headrests just make me nervous.
That smal red lever is the shutoff valve for the rear brakeline, effectively being the handbrake, right?
I loved watching Steve talk about that car and somehow had to think: "that's how i imagine Dan Aykroyd as Elwood talking about building a Bluesmobile". I had to laugh watching your reaction when Steve casually said "i let you drive it", i could feel your joy and surprise.
Thanks again Shawn for taking us with you and thanks to Steve for building such beautiful cars with that much passion. I sincerely enjoyed it.
muigaulwurf glad you enjoy what we do. Couldn’t believe I got to drive this beauty. And the red lever is to adjust brake bias on the rears. Another cool touch they put into this “Black Ops test car.”

I'll never forget a friend of mine's mother's car, it was a 66 Fairlane GT 289, silver with black interior. What a beautiful, clean body design. Why doesn't Ford resurrect a version to compete with the chargers, challengers, etc.?

This Fairlane is the essence of awesome. All the suspension engineering, and the sohc beast underhood. Wow. I don’t think there’s ever been a guest on this channel as entertaining as Steve. The cars embody his personality. They are fun, downright jovial. But if you happen to dial up the engine room, hang on for dear life. This Fairlane is the ultimate.

Yes,exactly. The smells, the sounds,you feel an aliveness that words cannot justify. Those wheels took a sec to grow on me,but like a morning glory on the side of your house, it's now entrenched. The torsion bar side to side, to me, is reminiscent of the Panther tank from WW2. Coffees ready,gotta run. Thanks again Shawn. ▪☆☆☆▪
Steve i feel is so underrated! His thoughts to fabrication when it comes to his builds has always impressed and never disappointed me! He deserves so much more attention. I've been a fan since his sledgehammer build. Kudos to you and your crew at pure vision sir.

Everything Steve does is exactly how I would do it. those are the exact rims I've always envisioned would look so dope on a 67 Shelby GT500 clone......... If I had the money I'd get Steve to build me! A radical 67 Shelby GT500 clone Super Snake that would rival the 66 Martini. Great job on another fantastic video

@@TheCheapReefer The 427 "SOHC" cammer motor is absolutely legendary in race history and was even banned outright by Nascar. It's the forefather of your modern 4.6 DOHC as well. Your comment makes me think you either didn't watch the video or just didn't listen to what the builder was saying about the overall theme of the car. A 427 SOHC cammer motor is beyond the reach of most, but IS totally and utterly badass!!

I think that is very difficult to find a Fairlane for built purpose... This type of build that I'm looking for: simple driving machine with power without OBDC, airbags, 1000 useless sensors and etc... Nice tune playing in the background "Chuki Beats" Thank you Shawn for one more awesome video.
