    Hey heyyy. I hope this video was helpful!! Let me know what other questions you have below 💙

    • @nehakoh9144

      Thank you for this, would you recommend a pre-pharm program or take pre-req from any community college

    • @Doctormycurls
      @Doctormycurls  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Either option works. If you have a degree already then the pre req would be easiest and more cost effective since you would only need to pay for and take the courses/credits you need. If you do not have a degree and know for sure you want to get your PharmD then a pre-pharm program would be quicker since you will be going right into pharmacy school after your first 2 years of pre requisites. I hope this makes sense.

    • @Doctormycurls
      @Doctormycurls  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That first statement I am referring to a pre req at a community college. Just be sure it’s a reputable college so they know you are coming in with a strong foundation.

      @@Doctormycurls thanks a lot for the prompt reply. I do have a BSc in accounting 12yrs ago, and yes I know for sure I want PharmD. would you recommend pre-pharm ONLINE or ON-Campus, any difference
      How do you know a reputable Community College🙂

    • @Doctormycurls
      @Doctormycurls  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Online courses are sometimes looked down upon, specifically your core classes (biochemistry, organic chemistry, general chemistry and Organic chemistry labs, etc). If you need a sociology course or economics I think those are fine to do online.

  • @LifeWithLocc
    @LifeWithLocc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Girl, social work is the same!! For each state you live in, you have to take a licensure exam which has me so weary because it’s like ok, wherever I test at is where I have to live long term! I wish they had a general license and then you just take refreshers for each state versus a whole new exam each time. They make that coin every time we take an exam!

    hello - can you expand upon the option to do a 0-6 program (high school to pharm d) ? like what they are looking for, pros/cons, how to gain pharm experience at the high school level for the application, personal statement, and interview, etc ? I guess another way would be to do the preq at a traditional 2/4 yr, but then apply to pharm d- which would mean one doesn't have a 4-yr degree.

    If you fail the interview can you retake it or are you gonna get rejected?

    • @Doctormycurls
      @Doctormycurls  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your interview isn’t graded but if you perform poorly or the interview (like you say something that is a red flag “example: I really hate patients” or you don’t answer majority of the questions) there aren’t any retakes until the following interview cycle. You can be placed on hold meaning they won’t accept you immediately until after they have interviewed everyone else. This could lead to you being denied entry into the school at the end if they fill the class seats up before they can circle back to your application. It’s HIGHLY unlikely that you mess up an interview though. So I hope this helps.

      @@meghapatel4621there are extra steps that must be completed before you can practice as a pharmacist in the US. You have to complete so many hours and there once was a foreign exam you had to take prior to be eligible. Check the state pharmacy boards website for where you are wanting to move to and it should list the require because each state is different.

      Yes a PharmD serves as a medical affair director too. You can do a fellowship after graduation to get into a position like this.
