Thank you SO much for this video. I'm about to graduate from college on Saturday with a not-so-immediately lucrative degree, and ever since I started organizing spaces during my internship this past semester I cannot stop thinking about doing it professionally. This video and your story gave me the confidence actually take a chance and go for it!
That is so awesome, Sydney! Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out my podcast for even more (and newer) content every other Wednesday. :) proorganizerstudio.com/podcast
This is super helpful I feel so intimidated and scared to start because I feel I need to be at the same level and doing what everyone else is doing on Instagram before I can start. This was great!
Hey Ella! Thanks for watching. You can totally do this! Don't worry about what everyone else is doing. Just take some baby steps toward your goal. Most clients aren't looking for someone with a pretty feed when they initially realize they need to get organized. They are looking for someone they can trust to have in their home to help them transform their lives.
thanks for watching!! I'm so glad it helped! If you want a brand new free workshop Jen and Melissa just did--you can also click here! poroadmap.com/free-workshop --it will be some extra knowledge for you!
This all depends on your state/city/location--it varies by geography. Some locations require a lot of things before you're set up, some require very few!
Hello! Great question. I firmly believe that consultations should be free because getting your foot in the door is what gives you the opportunity to make the sale, and you don't want to give your potential client any cause for hesitation. I also think that offering free consultations show your clients that you care more about them and their stressors than you do about money. I talk more about making the sale an easy YES! in my package pricing video here: th-cam.com/video/HzvR-WjU8OE/w-d-xo.html
@@ProOrganizerStudio Thanks, Jen. I actually meant to ask this question under that video but apparently TH-cam had moved on to your next video by the time I asked it. This video is great as well. I love how genuine you are. Thanks so much for what you do.
Hey there! No, I am not a NAPO certified professional organizer. If you'd like more information on whether or not to get certified, check out my blog post on the ins and outs of certifications for pro organizers here: proorganizerstudio.com/blog/professional-organizer-certification/

Did you need to get a license/insurance to start an organizing business?

Do you think organizers should charge for the in-home assessment? I've heard differing opinions in the organizing community.
