Might be weird but when I was younger seeing professional organizers on shows like Hoarders is what helped me get more into organizing, its one of my favorite things
OMG I just found this video and WOW. I haven't even finished it yet but it's so cool to find another classically trained operatic soprano who also organizes for a living! I am just starting to pursue my options, but I'm so excited to learn more.
I feel like we are kindred spirits, I also was a super messy but "organized" child. I too wanted to pursue a career in the arts but have been held back by imposter syndrome, and as a result have started and stopped schools, careers, etc. and have had many different jobs. I haven't started organizing yet, but as much as I'm SO DONE with retail I was considering applying to the Container Store because I want to see if being a pro organizer would be a good fit. Ive also cleaned and organized friends closets/kitchens for them. I could go on but you get the picture. 😉 Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us!! I think it's about time we normalize the not-so-straight-and-narrow path!
The Organized Soprano Yes it is! I have been binge-watching Tidying up with Marie Kondo (apologies if spelled wrong) and have decided to start tackling my closet which is really messy in contrast to my room. 🤣
Great video! I’m glad to get to know how your organizing career came about. I’m an anxious person too and I have created a comfortable home for myself and my husband. It’s my safe space. There are days when the outside world is too much and I quickly retreat back to my safe space. I am a very very organized person (some of which you have influenced) and I love it. I enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for sharing with us.
Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about "professional organizers salary" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Xanmily Yonandon Finder - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my cousin got cool results with it.
I’ve been working towards my Bachelor’s in Childhood Education and recently I’ve realized how much I love to organize and how it helps my anxiety, my mental health. I help those in my life too when I can because I know it makes a huge difference. I maybe will try this path. Even if I still want to teach. Why not both? I just think you are great and this was informing and I’m so happy to hear your backstory. Thank you!
If my surroundings are messy, my head is just as messy… Everything needs to be organized and if I have to focus, my desk has to be absolutely clear of stuff and dust, or I won't be able to focus…
Excellent Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you considered - Mahorrla Control Clutter Method (search on google)? It is a great exclusive product for decluttering your home without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my friend after many years got cool results with it.
I will echo others. Organizering helps me to feel calm in my own environment. It may drive my family crazy, but it is necessary for my peace of mind!! Enjoy your rehearsal, Kay!!
Your giving me courage to pursue this even though I will have to face a fear. I am a late bloomer and am only now starting to believe I can do so much more than I ever realised. I have a lot of interest that i would like to pursue, but have to pick one...at a time.
Yay! I understand feeling anxious about it, I was totally weirded about that people would even pay me for this service, but it turns out, people actually appreciate it!
Your interactions with Clover are so adorable, and I love how he just chilled out on the bed behind you. Thanks for sharing your story! I really enjoyed it.
I feel the same way Kay. The outside world is so overwhelming and emotionally charged, that I need a calm space when I open my door. I used to like a lot of bright colors and glittery things (still do....lol), but I feel so much calmer and at peace with less stuff and more neutral colors. I even decided to redo my bedroom in different shades of beiges and taupes.....it is so calming. Love your videos!
Love that you shared your life with us. Like you, I am an onlie. And my space be it my room when I was a kid or my apartment now, is my haven. And everything must be in its place. I don't suffer from anxiety, but I hear where you are coming from. I love how you segued from music to medicine back to music and then organizing. You've have a very varied life for such a young person. That shows your upbringing. My parents, much like yours, let me do my own thing. That's a wonderful thing. Thank you so much for sharing. You have given great inspiration to others, I'm sure. 💖
I have just kind of fallen into the idea of becoming a professional organizer and have been researching a bunch about it and now just kinda trying to see how successful organizers went about it and what their story is. Stumbled upon your page and I couldn’t have been happier. Youre bright cheerful and smiley which immediately made me click on to your video. And everything you said about yourself as a child even to the anxious bit is spot on for me. You pinpointed my anxiety to a science and I was in awe. THATS ME! I yelled with a gasp lol... My parents are military, everyone all my life has called me organized chaos.. the anxiety , the control, the comfort. Spot on. I am going to now look at more of your videos. But already I am inspired by you and feel like totally related to.. thank you for this!!
I have imposters syndrome too and now finally turning 19 next month I have hope to go to college dispite my average final exams in school. I have been a irish fiddle player for 12 years and really I'm not competitive either cos I also suffer with social anxiety and petrified of romantic relationships and now I'm on a rant!!! Kay ur a stranger to me but it's like Ikno and ur cool and amazing!!! Thanks Kay😀✌😎🤩
When I was about 3 years old, I was obsessed with organizing my stuffed animals in a line and placing hats on them (of course I had to make sure nothing was crooked 😂). Then as I got older, I would say that I was pretty organized with my mess as well. Everything had a spot (despite it seeming like utter chaos). When I went to college, my space was obscenely organized. I had a roommate who hated me and would touch my stuff and I noticed bc a pen would be facing the wrong way, a crumb would be on my bed (and I NEVER ate on my bed), etc. Thats the time of my life that I was thriving since I was so organized! Fast forward 6 years and I’m miserable bc my husband is such a messy person and I can’t have anything organized without him messing it up 😭 I’ve gotten better at ignoring it but organizing and STAYING organized is so therapeutic. I just wish others would realize that and take it seriously when they live with someone else 💔
I was such a neat freak when I was a kid, I had a lot of stuff but everything had its place in my room. Later on in life I got married and had a kid and then had two back surgeries and I couldn't keep up with my house. Now my kid is in college and am separated and trying to get organized again. I look forward to learning from you. You seem like such a fun and caring person and omg Mr. Clover is gorgeous, such a cutie!!❤😉
Hi Kay I appreciate your transparency in reviewing your story it's refreshing. I'm glad to see that more people are discovering your channel and the great information you provide.
I just relate to you so much. Thank you for sharing your journey. I finished my Bachelors in English and thought I would be a freelance proofreader/editor and lost my groove for it after college. I've felt burnt out for years and finally just recently was able to pull myself out and through organizing I have found something that I feel confident about doing. It's people like you who make me feel more confident. And I am also an only child, so i definitely relate to that part as well. And Mr. Clover being so cute I can't stand it.
Yes yes yes you have described me to a T! I’ve been medicated over my anxiety! If I can control my home life I feel so much less stressed! I really want to help others!
This was just prefect and exactly what I wanted to hear. Some one who is genuinely honest and open about her start and who’s she become. I truly appreciate ur backstory
Wow you are just so inspiring! Not just as a professional organizer or youtuber, but really as a person. Thank you for sharing yourself so sincerely. Do not cave to the negative out there: your home is beautiful, works for you, and always has just the right amount of stuff for you. Haters... Anyways, thank you again for being so fabulous and so open. Much appreciated and Happy New Year!
It was so cool to hear how you got to where you are now! I never would have thought you were messy as a child. Its definitely crazy to see all the different roads that lead us to the lives we live now!
This was a great video, it’s really fun getting to know you. Please keep it up! I would love a container store walk through and suggesting what might help organize kitchens cabinets, laundry rooms, bedrooms, Wall units, BTW yours is great!!
Hello Kay. I love your common sense approach to decluttering and organization. Thank you for creating a shame free zone for those of us who want to keep some of our stuff. Thanks to you I have become someone who periodically declutters my space. I love watching Clover too.
Fascinating. I lived in Frankfurt for 9 years :) and I was super messy as a child. I still am but now I have much less so it gets controled better. Love listening to your journey.
"I was very ogranized in my mess.." haha.. I loved how you worded that a Home is someone's "intimate" space, this is exactly how I look at a home, especially my own. I enjoyed watching this 😊 Tfs 👍
New subbie as of last night! My organizing challenge: I live in a very old house, and (for the most part) we’ve chosen keep it’s character and not gut it and turn it into a modern home. Storage space, closets are small, but we do have a big basement and attic. I think it would be so helpful to have someone come with fresh ideas and eyes and help with organizing! I’m not a minimalist, but I do believe in editing our things. I too struggle with anxiety-fear of the unknown and social anxiety. Looking forward to your content! 💕
Imposter syndrome is very common. Physician’s often experience when they graduate residency. Eventually we come to own our skills. BTW, would love to hear you sing!
Aw, you are such a cool gal. I have struggled with imposter syndrome as well and at the age of 60 now, I think a lot of it came from caring so much and wanting to be perfectly knowledgeable more than necessary in my case. Anyway, enjoyed your sharing a bit of background and wish you great success with your audition.
Thank you for the inspiration. This is something I have been very interested in doing for a long time and I'm about to transition to the next stage of my life. I'm retired Navy and about to retire from my Govt job and move to Texas. Thanks again.
Just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you for this wonderful video. I also work in retail (not Container Store though), and find out working on the floor doing organizing/sizing/folding/helping customers are satisfying. I love to see things organized and neat, although, yeah you know with retail that might survive for only one hour or less. But still it makes me happy to make things organized. Now I’m really considering about another side hustle doing home organization because I love organizing and find comfort in organized spaces. The thing is, having live in the US for only 3 years now have me needed to learn new things in the US that I didn’t have in my home country in SE Asia. That, to be honest, holds me from being completely confident in myself, being afraid what if I did wrong to US people/house/etc just because some things I’m still not familiar with 😢. That kind of worry. In the meantime, I’ll keep watching more of your videos. Encouragement is welcome! 😊
Great video, as always, Kay!! Thanks for sharing about being a professional organizer. I LOVE to organize, but I’m not sure I could do it for other people. And...Clover is so cute I can’t stand it!! 😍
Thanks for sharing your story. I am an artist but I like to be an organiser to, I work as a visual merchandiser and I love organising a mess and spaces.
Thanks for sharing your story! I love to hear the different paths people take to discover their passions. Imposter syndrome is a real struggle but I'm so glad you have continued to help others and follow your heart regardless
I would love to see more of your organizing videos. Still am enchanted with Clover. Such a darling face on that dog lol Touches my heart strings when I see him and so smart too.
Correction: welcome back to our channel. Clover is your wing dog or you are his wing woman. Happy New Beginnings and kisses on the nose and belly rubs for Clover. 🙏
This video was right on time as it is definitely something I've been thinking about. I'm also glad that you mentioned NAPO because their name came up when I was doing research.
Just found you 15 minutes ago... love love love you. Thank you for giving me some language for things I haven't been able to articulate... imposter syndrome, being anxious and controlling those things we can. I'm naturally very organized and I've always explained it as chaos in my brain and a need to balance it with external order yet, it didn't fully define my experience. Order is definitely a control issue for me plus, I can get overwhelmed by too many patterns, colors or things. It's a visual/aesthetic thing for me. That said, I love patterns, colors and things -- learning to create a cohesive way of living with all these elements by establishing order was the trick for me... I get that much needed sense of balance and CONTROL. Thank you, I subscribed and will be exploring your other videos and awaiting new ones.
When I lived in Northern VA the news got to me big time as I had always lived in the south. You help me through my chaos a lot I am purging away. Thanks for the personals it made you really real. Hi Clover!
I'm a very anxious person as well. I feel like my home is my sanctuary where I can relax and feel safe. It sounds like I might suffer what you suffer from but don't know anything about Imposter syndrome. Actually never heard of it till now, I will have to research. I know I suffer from ANTS always thinking about what could happen badly about everything. Anyway, I always love watching your video.
My daughter and I watch your videos. She likes seeing other only children who are "normal". Her room is pretty much like yours was when you were a child. Too bad you're not closer to Hampton Roads but maybe we'll hire you to be our virtual organizer!!
Oh Kay thank you so much for sharing your stories. So interesting and helpful in myriad ways. Too often we look for perfection in others and the first crack in the veneer we run. You're a brave lady and I'm so glad I found your channel. ❤️🙏😽
I just started watching your videos. I love your work and my favorite is to organize. It is very calming to me. Thank you so much for sharing. Break a leg in your performance.
I just found your channel. I'm also looking to start my own professional organizing business in my city. Your story was inspiring, thank you for sharing
Thank you for sharing your story! I have been helping friends get organized as I also want to make this a business. I'm now in the process of making my website and thinking about marketing. It's all so scary, but exciting too! I have been a stay at home mom with just a couple part time jobs over the past 20 years! So, ready for something I can do outside the home that incorporates my passion of organization!
Thank you for sharing this Kay! I have been dabbling with organizing as a side thing for a couple of years, but only with friends on the barter system. I’ve been considering taking the next step, so this was awesome 😀
Thank you for this video! I'm looking into making Professional Organizing a side business because, as a flight attendant, I have a lot of down time. I know some tips and tricks to help alleviate anxiety while flying. Always tell the flight attendants you are a nervous flyer, we love helping. A lot of people find it soothing to meet the Pilots. The Pilots love to say hi and chat with you if you ask during boarding :)
Kay, you're so cute and I love how humble you are and how grateful you are for your subscribers. I enjoyed your story time. Keep up the great vlogs! I particularly enjoy your on-the-job series when you are with a client.
Oh...I thought you had gone to organizing school or something. Lol! J/k it’s nice to hear your story and how you’ve come where you are now. I suppose one doesn’t need to attend a school to adquiere life skills. And my youngest child is also a messy little girl she takes for ever to clean her room. Hugs!
Just subscribed!! Thank you this! I found your channel because I’m looking into become a professional organizer as well! I feel like we relate so much!
We just got a container store her in OKC! And I’m obsessed! My Husband thinks it’s weird!😂 I Love that’s how you started your organization journey! 👍🏼Really enjoy your videos & Clover!
Hey! I'm a singer and organizer too haha! Got my bachelor in choral ed (not much of a performer, but I like teaching!) and now I'm a professional organizer! Also was super messy as a kid 😂
Might be weird but when I was younger seeing professional organizers on shows like Hoarders is what helped me get more into organizing, its one of my favorite things

Wow! I can identify with just about everything you said.❤
Really interesting to hear your backstory! Cleaning/organizing definitely helps me cope with anxiety too.
Thank you so much! Cleaning/Organizing is strangely therapeutic, right?
The Organized Soprano Yes it is! I have been binge-watching Tidying up with Marie Kondo (apologies if spelled wrong) and have decided to start tackling my closet which is really messy in contrast to my room. 🤣

I always tell employers that! “Take a look at my desk and you can see if I’m struggling or not” 😂
Thank you so much about telling us your backstory I love to keep my stuff organized
I will echo others. Organizering helps me to feel calm in my own environment. It may drive my family crazy, but it is necessary for my peace of mind!! Enjoy your rehearsal, Kay!!

Truth! Thank you!
Your interactions with Clover are so adorable, and I love how he just chilled out on the bed behind you.
Thanks for sharing your story! I really enjoyed it.
Clo-Bean is super happy as long as he's with his fam-fam :)
Thank you! I love the relaxing feeling I get from coming home to a calm, organized space! Cheers!
You are brave sharing your story. It is inspiring. I too feel that the one place you can control is your home.😊

I'm seriously considering becoming a professional organizer. I am very much in the beginning stages; I am a stay-at-home and homeschooling Mom of two.
Know you are very valuable people need you so they can get motivated and understand what to do to make their lives more peaceful
You are wonderful! Just found your channel a few days ago. Loved your story about your life and journey toward professional organizing. Thanks!
I have imposters syndrome too and now finally turning 19 next month I have hope to go to college dispite my average final exams in school. You'll be absolutely fine! College is the MOST fun you'll ever have! Enjoy yourself!
How has college been? You're only 19 so you still have much time to decide to do whatever you want
When I was about 3 years old, I was obsessed with organizing my stuffed animals in a line and placing hats on them (of course I had to make sure nothing was crooked 😂).

Hi Kay I appreciate your transparency in reviewing your story it's refreshing. I'm glad to see that more people are discovering your channel and the great information you provide.
Wow, I am so glad you actually talked instead of just repeating empty words this video explained so much to me and really spoke to me!
Your headboard is beautiful.
Thank you! I was pretty obsessed with it before we got it. It’s just as pretty in person as it was on the West Elm website
Yes yes yes you have described me to a T! I’ve been medicated over my anxiety! If I can control my home life I feel so much less stressed! I really want to help others!
It’s totally effective!
I Love your videos. They are an inspiration on not just an organization level; but also your intelligence and joy.

I found your channel because I'm significantly downsizing my home and I need small storage ideas. I think you're fantastic.
Thank you so much for watching!

As I get older, I'm getting organized in a very granular way -- everything from housework cycle to water plants, menus etc etc.
It was so cool to hear how you got to where you are now! I never would have thought you were messy as a child. Its definitely crazy to see all the different roads that lead us to the lives we live now!
Love that I found your channel! Love the info and appreciate you.

That’s a lovely compliment, thank you!
Loved hearing about your story. So glad you made your channel public when you first started, thank you! ❤️

There are a few singing moments captured on the channel, but not many! Mostly during vlogmas/VEDA!
Thank you!
My organizing bug clicked when I worked at Macy’s in my 20’s! I LOVED merchandising ♥️ .
Yeah! It’s not just me lol
Thank you for the inspiration. This is something I have been very interested in doing for a long time and I'm about to transition to the next stage of my life. I'm retired Navy and about to retire from my Govt job and move to Texas. Thanks again.

I am another person who cleans out of anxiety
What a great story Kay!
This video was right on time as it is definitely something I've been thinking about. I'm also glad that you mentioned NAPO because their name came up when I was doing research.
Thank you! You are inspiring both in classical music & professional organizing.
Clover is a real friend.
You do have a very active life and you fully enjoy it.
Thank you so much!!! I hope you enjoy the rest of the content!!!
When I lived in Northern VA the news got to me big time as I had always lived in the south. You help me through my chaos a lot I am purging away. Thanks for the personals it made you really real. Hi Clover!

You're so sweet!
Thank you for sharing your story. I appreciate your honesty about the good, the bad, and the puppy! Greetings from Costa Rica.
You’re a beautiful woman with a very interesting life and story. I enjoy your videos and get many ideas and tips from them. Keep them coming.
Thank you! That's very sweet :)
You are a breath of fresh air. Almost as cute as Marie Kondo.
Thank you! That's really sweet :)
Diane Kobi she’s as cute or cuter as Marie Kondo!!
My daughter and I watch your videos. She likes seeing other only children who are "normal". Her room is pretty much like yours was when you were a child. Too bad you're not closer to Hampton Roads but maybe we'll hire you to be our virtual organizer!!
Nice! Still putting together some bits of the new virtual organizing packages, so stay tuned!
Oh Kay thank you so much for sharing your stories. So interesting and helpful in myriad ways. Too often we look for perfection in others and the first crack in the veneer we run. You're a brave lady and I'm so glad I found your channel. ❤️🙏😽
Thank you!
I just started watching your videos. I love your work and my favorite is to organize. It is very calming to me. Thank you so much for sharing. Break a leg in your performance.

Awesome!
The Organized Soprano Do you mind if I ask you a few questions. Can I email you?
Thank you for sharing your story! I have been helping friends get organized as I also want to make this a business. I'm now in the process of making my website and thinking about marketing. It's all so scary, but exciting too! I have been a stay at home mom with just a couple part time jobs over the past 20 years! So, ready for something I can do outside the home that incorporates my passion of organization!
Thank you! Do ittttttttt! 💕
Thank you for sharing this Kay! I have been dabbling with organizing as a side thing for a couple of years, but only with friends on the barter system. I’ve been considering taking the next step, so this was awesome 😀
DO ITTTTTTTT.....!
OMG thank you! I will do that, I always feel silly because of my fear of flying but it's good to know the pilot might want to chat!
Kay, you're so cute and I love how humble you are and how grateful you are for your subscribers. I enjoyed your story time. Keep up the great vlogs! I particularly enjoy your on-the-job series when you are with a client.
