I'm glad you got around to this one! Dan's voice has gotten so much better than it was when he recorded the PLOP for IA. I used to think he was a tier lower than Alex/Ben/Dickie but he's really become a fantastic vocalist on the same level.
@@KardavoxAcademy yeah I like his work on the PLOP too, he's always been solid! Ever since Luciferous he's been especially dope though, his highs are awesome and his lows are super unique.
i truly believe dan has worked his voice into one of the best in the game. He has developed an entire vocal style in itself, one that people practice to and try to sound like. Alex/ben/dickie are cool but hype bands and ‘sending them to the slaughter house’ got a little old in 2017. Vocalists like Phil, Dan, Tyler, and Mike & Casey, the ones who are branching out and creating their own niche are the ones who are setting the standard these days. There are vocalists out here who have been putting in straight work to define genres while others cling to hype and one-line breakdowns followed by a pig squeal. Alex/ben/dickie may have shown what can be done, but i really do not see anything more that they have contributed to the music as a whole.
Much love, glad you dig it! And thanks for the kind words on the rebrand! Eagle and Bison does great work, and the animations were done by our editor, Ludo!
And i have a simple answer as to why: contrast! When everything drops outt and you hear an eerie atmospheric crawling noise, the punch hits 12x harder. I LOVE lifting to this song especially for that part of the breakdown
I know a fair amount of people rag on his his lows but they’re still my favorite. I love the way they sound super powerful and pushed even though they aren’t the loudest and the talky onsets add a lot of character
@@WindyCityNick No, they obviously sound big in the mix. The people who critique his volume are going off of videos he’s uploading in the past that he recorded himself. Where I’ve seen people complain are mostly in screaming forums where most people just idolize super load false cords (Alex Terrible, etc) and on TH-cam Deathcore vocalist Tier Lists like one DickeyDines did
Mark I just want to say that I really appreciate your in-depth analysis particularly on this video (been watching for a while), and I've learned a few things from this video alone. Also I'm not sure exactly when you started adding in those little bubbles at the bottom of the screen asking questions and little note snippets but I'm LOVING it. You're asking good questions and it's making your channel stand out a bit more. This song is amazing and you are too! Don't forget that bro
Thanks so much for the kind words dude! Yeah, we've tried to change up the way we make edits and make the videos a little more interactive - glad you noticed!
I saw these guys live just a couple of months ago but they had a sub-in vocalist touring with them, Travis Worland, the vocalist for The Willow. I was so confused when I saw him but then when I'd look into Enterprise Earth, I'd see Dan. I'll be seeing EE again as they tour with Fit For An Autopsy, so it'll be interesting hearing EE with Dan and EE with Travis.
This song is a banger. I've listened to it almost every day since its release! Their first single as sick too with the cleans. Excited for the album in January.
I think the higher vocal right before the breakdown may have been one of the guitar players. May have been a video choice to have him miming singing thought.
The modern slayer - angel of death Moment. I'm still unsure if the scream at the beginning is actually the guitar during the high tone or Tom Araya himself
@@spencerknutson2741 you seemed a bit unsure in the comment above and how you describe it overall I feel pretty similar with the Tom Arayas scream on angel of death.
@@spencerknutson2741 I'm sorry, your comment just reminded me of a similar experience I had with Angel of Death. I just felt that it's neat that people have the same experience but with other songs. It's absolutely trivial and I m sorry for wasting your time. Just had to get this train of thought out of my head
One of my favorite vocalists. Dan is known for having very quiet vocals, I'm assuming that means he has so much control that he doesn't need to push for tone.
I don’t really listen to as much Deathcore and extreme metal anymore. But idk, something about Enterprise Earth, and the way Dan does vocals just makes me keep coming back to them again and again. I didn’t really understand them at first when I listened to Luciferous back in 2019. But now it’s one of my favorite all time albums. They have grown on me and I will always be excited to see what they do next. Can’t wait till the album comes out!
Please react to the new live video of IGORRR - Opus Brain live at Pol'and Rock 2021. New vocalists in that band, both the female soprano and harsh vocals are awesome! Would be perfect for a coreaction with the Charismatic voice! :)
You should check out his one take vocal playthrough of He Exists on his TH-cam channel. There's one bit when this huge glob of spit just sloughs off the mic, it's fucking disgusting lmao. Also, thank you for elaborating on how Dan gets his whacky frog gutterals. I could never figure that out
I highly recommend Japanese Deathcore Metalcore. I stumbled on some best breakdown videos. Even if its not featured on the channel you should check it out.

Lost in a wave or rainfall 👌
@@letmevomit3348 only reason i wouldnt suggest rainfall is just that id love for him to hear some cleans too. needs ot hear the full spectrum of flo!

@@KardavoxAcademy mostly just Reddit/TH-cam comments (the loud minority, I’m sure). I think most people respect Mr. Watson a great deal! He’s a legend

I also recommend you check out Of The Abyss one take play through with Will Ramos!
Have Will Ramos on the channel and talk about his one take of To the Hellfire?
Or the one-take of "Of the Abyss!" Please Mark? :)
Can't wait for this, the vocalist is such a beast
Dan's the man!
Had zero idea who these guys were, fucking amazing. Thank you for showing them.
for the breakdown vocals gotta remember...he was in infant annihilator
Glad you came around to talk about Dan's vocal! Just wish you reviewed Where dreams are broken instead!

They really released the song with cleans and then the "fuck you IA vocals" right after, beautiful.
Aw i got so stoked haha reminder on. This will be my first time hearing any new EE. Love that new logo

It would be very cool to react to Mire Lore, Dans side project.
Holmes and Dr. Watson, mrs Hudson on guitars
We did get a Dan Watson feature on the Lowlife track Deadweight, I think he closed out the song but he kept it simple so not much to breakdown
Very true!
Could you do a video of The Collection by Signs Of The Swarm brother. 3 singers so there will be plenty to talk about

I just seen them live with Lorna Shore in Nashville, and the fill in vocalist did a DAMN GOOD job

1 suggestion, instead of guessing lyrics - it might be handy to have the lyrics open to refer to :)
where was the sword? and is it me or do they sound like The Breathing Process?
hahahh he lost his shit at 20 mins in
you should do a video on connie from see you space cowboy. might be interesting to do a video on someone who intentionally screams in a damaging way
