As many people said, you don t take into account the atk speed, the CDR, the mana pool and mana regen. All those impact Xbow/Dagger really heavily in PvE.
Yes correct. It does not account for attack speed. In general you take what attack speed you can get without losing out on damage specific stats. But sure there is a line somewhere and I personally am still figuring that out.

To everyone saying theyre only building pve or pvp... you can have multiple builds. If you follow a PvP gear build, you can still have 3 pages of different stats skills and specializations. I have a PvE, a small scale PvP, and a large scale PvP.

Let me point 2 little errors i see on the average dmg formula. -1st damage bonus is added after heavy attack happend, so you don't need to multiplay those 2. i know seems weird, and the number displayed ad the x2 as the last thing to happend. but make the test you gonna see that the damage bonus is added only 1 time despite the x2. so yeah another reason the dmg bonus is not so great. -2nd the detonation mark, the explosion doesn't depend on the off-hand activation, as long as the mark enter. it will explode for 40% of the damage and it says it's 100%(maybe can be lower with weaken resistence). What DO depend on the off-hand activation is the mark stacking 2 times and this will result on a explosion doing double damage. so you gonna need to split that part on 2, 1 depending on just the mark and a second that should be as you have it right now.

I assumed that it does add to each hit, even if it's a heavy attack -2, this calculation is based on the chance to get the off-hand activation which gives that +40% additional damage, up to then 80%. You don't need to account for the first 40% as you said, that's there regardless

i did 70 dex and 40+ wisdom. its really the dps build the problem is u are squishy because u dont have melee defense and ranged defense which should also be take into account because if u go solo and mobs hit you u die instantly unless u have a group then yeah dex and wisdom is good i think but if a solo type i guess dex and a little bit str is kinda goto

You can find people fully trait playing since Korea doing slightly better dmg or even less than him.
Detonation mark might also stack 2 times if you trigger a off hand attack when you use the skill, dont happen often at lowere lvl, but often with good gear.
Field General set buffs melee heavy attack chance but crossbow/dagger is very ranged damage loaded. A solid chunk of your damage comes from mortal mark + quick fire (although thunderclouds does a lot too). Did you take that into account when doing calculations for optimal damage output for the weapon?
For these examples I took the average of both values. That would be an assumption of a 50/50 split of your damage from crossbow and dagger. Detonation marks effect is not actually affected by heavy attack, since it just accumulates damage from all the other sources. I would love to be able to access combat logs from this game and we'd be able to see the exact split. I would be more inclined to think we get more total damage from the dagger in burst rotations due to thunderclad bombings being our main big source.
Thundercloud is actually where you get the most consistent and easily obtained damage, you wont always be able to get a full rotation with mortal mark. You could be cc, etc. In turn thundercloud just needs 20 stacks and one button press for the potential to hit 1-4 times and it has a short cool down if you hit it at 20 stacks so its up faster than MM. Cleaving moon also gives you stacks and its part of the rotation either before or after the bomb.
@@omagro8267 İts actually not working that way. Crossbow is way better than thundercloud. You can miss tundercloud . You can hit miss and miss and all your damage is gone. But with crosbow you re actually dealing more damage and you re safer most of the time. Because you keep your distance from melee users. You dont have much cc effect. When you enter melee range, you cant dodge everything. I m using thundercloud only if ı know its a score. You can test it in arena. Hit the people. Only thing you r gonna see is thundercloud deal max 2k damage. Because of all the shield.
@ibrahimsarcaoglu2738 lets be real. The range on crossbows is less than any tanks CC, mages, or bows damage. You are not safe in either situation. Like I said, the full scorpion rotation is rare, in one v ones or in gvg.

yeah if your broke, I'd focus on being more effective in pve and get stuff to sell or use. You can use max traited blues very effectively for pvp as a budget option
makes no sense going pve, I'm full pvp glass cannon bow dagger and I can solo any of my lvl50 contracts with ease. But because I focused PvP, i have juciers to do my pve contracts with. Ya dig?
@@imisa7556 I mean you really can have pve pvp build almost all builds have 80% same items and traits for pvp and pve. I just switch 3 items out and reset points and pve doesnt need fully traited defensive gear
I went with a large scale pvp build and have yet to do large scale pvp. Dungeon runs are smooth but I don't do near enough single target damage to world bosses.

Nah , for tier 2 dungeon gs/dag is good enough , the problrm is when it comes to Challenge dungeons, since these are farmable ppl like to speed run and only party up with the highest damage combos

Ive been following ur builds since the beginning and i love ur theorycrafting mate. Recently swapped the 50 str to divide it amongst perc /wisdom since all other guides invest in that instead. Still not 100% convinced though, but i do struggle with mana. How do u deal with that? Bursting with a depletion of mana results in an overall dpsloss, doesnt it?
I use mana exchange whenever possible, plus mana potion, and make sure to stand in the healers circle, that can give mana too. Otherwise I have milk for out of combat to fully refill mana
@@Aragon- Hey mate, have u looked at weak point shot and expand conditions skill upgrade. Triggers when shadow strike lands as well. 18%crit dmg a for 6 seconds without requiring a fury attack doesnt sound bad. Boosts everything including ur detonation mark. Just theorycrafting out loud here.
Hello thanks for the calculations and different set infos, i am big on pvp and thought going wolf would be better so i had gotten the pants and chest and recently dropped a shadow grip with a useful trait is it worth it to do 2 wolf 2 death sets for a mostly pvp player or should i try to slowly move towards 2 death 2 field general anyways, extra info my weapons, rings, bracelet and neck is purple and fully traited rest are blues traited for pvp from one of your earlier videos

You can still miss in pve so you need a bit hit chance I suppose. also I was wondering if with 30 wisdom you have enough mana regen to sustain real pve fight ? (so everything outside infinity)

For crossbow, do you if mother nature with gale stacks with gale specialization on other skills? Like will my attack get 2 stacks of gale instead of one? or does it not stack and taking gale on mother nature isnt worth it?
Yes, you can get 2 gale stacks per hit with mother nature's and the skill spec on specific skills like quick fire and annihilation barrage. It is only worth it for killing groups of enemies that are very close to each other.
can you do a play by play on how or where you're plugging the numbers in. not sure if "bonus damage" is from your character stats over which mine is 30. but then the skill? what if its multiple skills. over thinking it a bit ..

Correction, the "bonus damage" on the skill is actually added to the min and max base damage. So for example a skill will say like 140% + 25. You add that 25 to the min and max total, to find the average damage of that skill
Offft i just traited out and got my wolf chest and pants to lvl 9. Was honestly planning on eventually running the 4 set for the offhand chance. Guess that was a mistake
he is mistaken on this video he said %100 activiation rate from selfless disccusn skill but that not the case that skill makes %100 off hand double attack chance not activation chance.
@aragon whats your opinion about tnl devs letting their servers get monopolised instead of making alliances only apply at siege wars that way the rest of pvp and conflict would not be a zerg fest
my server is doing alright so far. There are enough divided guilds to challenge the top guys. The power shifts a fair amount. But yeah, I can see it as a pretty bad issue when one alliance just dominates everything

I think you need 70 perception 50 str if u wanted to run 2 gear set pices cus you're hit% will be to low. I had to switch gears for pvp just because my hit was 650 it was to low to deal damage and now its over 1000 thanks to getting juonbo boss box last night and with shadow pants with hit and perception i cant hit people now

Sorry if I am naive..but "Hit Chance", is this only relevant in PvP ? How can I know if PvE encounters, like bosses have any Evasion, is there any data ? I just want to know if Hit chance is actually of any use in PvE, or rather useless.
There is no specific data. Auto attacks can miss PvE enemies but not skills. In general you don't need any hit chance for PvE. There are probably some exceptions, mobs which can buff themselves etc, and yes I would love to know the details on their defensive stats too
There are 2 builds for pve dps cross bow and daggers and staff long bow/wand that’s it everything else sucks. Crossbow and daggers are so far ahead of everything else that it makes the game not fun at all if you don’t use them😞
Hey Aragon! Just reached out `cause the imperator set only gives heavy attacks to melee attacks, and your main skills are ranged. You are losing effectivity with this set, and `cause of that your sheet isn`t accurate.

it is pretty much the same comparison as I showed with he pvp setups. Not much changes. It's just not as good as the heavy attack from imperator, specifically for your thunderclad bombings and stigma
the 18 bonus damage is not worth it compared to +150 heavy attack. Correct. if you for example do 50 hits in your rotation, that is 18 x 50 = 900 extra damage from the set bonus. If I deal 200k damage in my rotation, that's 0.45% damage gained Compared to +150 Heavy attack which can give about a 5.85% damage increase (going from 300 to 500) yes if that's just for melee damage and your melee is like only half of your damage, then it is still a 5.85% / 2 = 2.925% overall damage gain. Better than the wolf 2/4 set.
oh be aware, the benefit of bonus damage does get a lot better in PvP, that's where it can be useful. You won't be doing 200k rotations there xD The bonus damage will help to simply add to each of your hits.

We know for sure in for example gate of infinity, the bosses do not have evasion, you never miss. I've asked around a lot of anyone knows the PvE enemies stats, and nobody knows apparently. So I can only assume from what I can see. Either way the math checks out to compare what gear to use.
@@Aragon- In theory yes,, but from my 45 years of gaming(lots of MMO's) you can never really be sure until the Dev's give access, or people do years of back end analysis. There are always spanners to be thrown into the works in these types of games.

to calculate the average damage of your total combo, it can get very complex with the specifics, but you can usually make some generalizations. For example I could say, my average hit on crossbow and dagger is 500% and then using that input the stats I will have for the combo, and then be able to compare different setups within those parameters. Also you may note what I did with heavy attack, I got the average between my melee and ranged. That is assuming a 50/50 split of damage from dagger and crossbow. If say it was a 70/30 split, you would need to equate for that.
At 11:30 you are saying that the '+X' value us bonus damage but it's not. It's the value that gets added to your base damage before going into the multiplier. So 150% +26 is "your base dmge +26" multiplied by 1.5. Bonus damage gets added at the end and it's just a flat amount per hit.
If you use strength in pve build as dps - you're noob. These 100 heavy attack chance is not worth + in your builds you have low wisdom, so you don't solve the problem with mana + low attack speed means you cast skills much slower. These builds maybe are okay for infinity gate, but not for pve overall
Really? Do you have a better formula? Do you think 15 extra point in wisdom will save your mana regen? Did u test? What will be the %increase in mana regen? What will the decrease in dmg? The resulted sustain dmg?

Evasion is for the squishier playstyle. The high DPS builds.

That's why it is in the calculation, because of the chance to trigger twice dependant on your offhand activation chance

Looks viable for pve, sadly tough for us players that can only rely on 1 build that we can use for both pve and pvp , anyway good work

The only correct build for pve is the 4 piece phantom set. Offhand attack is everything for xbow/dag.

ok but you compare BiS max-gear sets with each other and the only difference is max 10% ? Is that really worth it. I know min max people will cry out now but seriously, will this change anything in open PvE or any dungeon? I dont think so. But its nice that we finally have a gear compare site.

For crossbow, do you if mother nature with gale stacks with gale specialization on other skills? Like will my attack get 2 stacks of gale instead of one? or does it not stack and taking gale on mother nature isnt worth it?
Yes, you can get 2 gale stacks per hit with mother nature's and the skill spec on specific skills like quick fire and annihilation barrage. It is only worth it for killing groups of enemies that are very close to each other.
can you do a play by play on how or where you're plugging the numbers in. not sure if "bonus damage" is from your character stats over which mine is 30. but then the skill?

bonus damage is yes, what it shows on your sheet and then also what it shows on your skill.
@Aragon- could you give me an example of a skill bonus damage # so im plugging in the right numbers here. Just trying to be accurate. Im a visual learner.
Correction, the "bonus damage" on the skill is actually added to the min and max base damage. So for example a skill will say like 140% + 25. You add that 25 to the min and max total, to find the average damage of that skill

Offft i just traited out and got my wolf chest and pants to lvl 9. Was honestly planning on eventually running the 4 set for the offhand chance. Guess that was a mistake
he is mistaken on this video he said %100 activiation rate from selfless disccusn skill but that not the case that skill makes %100 off hand double attack chance not activation chance.
@aragon whats your opinion about tnl devs letting their servers get monopolised instead of making alliances only apply at siege wars that way the rest of pvp and conflict would not be a zerg fest
my server is doing alright so far. There are enough divided guilds to challenge the top guys. The power shifts a fair amount. But yeah, I can see it as a pretty bad issue when one alliance just dominates everything

Slight difference. Using shadow strike to trigger weak point, to gain the 21% crit damage. Use the specialization on weak point

I think you need 70 perception 50 str if u wanted to run 2 gear set pices cus you're hit% will be to low.
I had to switch gears for pvp just because my hit was 650 it was to low to deal damage and now its over 1000 thanks to getting juonbo boss box last night and with shadow pants with hit and perception i cant hit people now
should be fine with 60 perc. my "PvP Death + Imp Str" build has 1,012 ranged hit chance.

Sorry if I am naive..but "Hit Chance", is this only relevant in PvP ? How can I know if PvE encounters, like bosses have any Evasion, is there any data ? I just want to know if Hit chance is actually of any use in PvE, or rather useless.

There is no specific data. Auto attacks can miss PvE enemies but not skills. In general you don't need any hit chance for PvE.
There are probably some exceptions, mobs which can buff themselves etc, and yes I would love to know the details on their defensive stats too

There are 2 builds for pve dps cross bow and daggers and staff long bow/wand that’s it everything else sucks. Crossbow and daggers are so far ahead of everything else that it makes the game not fun at all if you don’t use them😞

Hey Aragon! Just reached out `cause the imperator set only gives heavy attacks to melee attacks, and your main skills are ranged. You are losing effectivity with this set, and `cause of that your sheet isn`t accurate.
In pve with the rotation I use, at least 50% of the damage you deal is from melee attacks. I done the calculations with that in mind

it is pretty much the same comparison as I showed with he pvp setups. Not much changes. It's just not as good as the heavy attack from imperator, specifically for your thunderclad bombings and stigma

the 18 bonus damage is not worth it compared to +150 heavy attack. Correct.
if you for example do 50 hits in your rotation, that is 18 x 50 = 900 extra damage from the set bonus. If I deal 200k damage in my rotation, that's 0.45% damage gained
Compared to +150 Heavy attack which can give about a 5.85% damage increase (going from 300 to 500)
yes if that's just for melee damage and your melee is like only half of your damage, then it is still a 5.85% / 2 = 2.925% overall damage gain. Better than the wolf 2/4 set.
oh be aware, the benefit of bonus damage does get a lot better in PvP, that's where it can be useful. You won't be doing 200k rotations there xD
The bonus damage will help to simply add to each of your hits.

none that I am aware of for your skills. They can however make your basic attacks miss for some reason.

We know for sure in for example gate of infinity, the bosses do not have evasion, you never miss.
I've asked around a lot of anyone knows the PvE enemies stats, and nobody knows apparently. So I can only assume from what I can see. Either way the math checks out to compare what gear to use.
@@Aragon- In theory yes,, but from my 45 years of gaming(lots of MMO's) you can never really be sure until the Dev's give access, or people do years of back end analysis. There are always spanners to be thrown into the works in these types of games.

to calculate the average damage of your total combo, it can get very complex with the specifics, but you can usually make some generalizations. For example I could say, my average hit on crossbow and dagger is 500% and then using that input the stats I will have for the combo, and then be able to compare different setups within those parameters.
Also you may note what I did with heavy attack, I got the average between my melee and ranged. That is assuming a 50/50 split of damage from dagger and crossbow. If say it was a 70/30 split, you would need to equate for that.
At 11:30 you are saying that the '+X' value us bonus damage but it's not. It's the value that gets added to your base damage before going into the multiplier.
So 150% +26 is "your base dmge +26" multiplied by 1.5.
Bonus damage gets added at the end and it's just a flat amount per hit.

If you use strength in pve build as dps - you're noob. These 100 heavy attack chance is not worth + in your builds you have low wisdom, so you don't solve the problem with mana + low attack speed means you cast skills much slower. These builds maybe are okay for infinity gate, but not for pve overall

Really? Do you have a better formula? Do you think 15 extra point in wisdom will save your mana regen? Did u test? What will be the %increase in mana regen? What will the decrease in dmg? The resulted sustain dmg?
@@brunobonfatti2835 Yes, I have better formula, different build ofc and its not about "15 extra point in wisdom", its about build the gear that don't have that many flaws like in the video, where you consider all the stats and not focus only on heavy attack etc.
