My husband and partner surprised me with the midnight masquerade Hades doll for my birthday last year because Hercules is my favorite Disney movie and Hades is my favorite villain. He is PERFECT. The outfit is so detailed, i love the masks, the body and face sculpt are incredible, even the box is stunning.
The first Queen of Hearts doll is inspired by both the animated and live action. I have all the Queen of Hearts dolls and they all have rooted hair. I wish they made the designer version of her plus size.
The first Queen of Hearts to me looks more like Snow White dressed up as the Queen of Hearts. And then meanwhile, several of the Maleficent dolls look more like the Evil Queen in Maleficent inspired dresses, especially when they take away her green skin tone. Regarding the Designer Cruella, I’m also blown away by her. Her face sculpt is absolutely gorgeous. But overall, I agree that you definitely finished strong - this Yzma is perfection, and is probably my favorite one here.
Oh wow, i had no idea there were so many villain dolls! im surprised theres so many male characters too! I need the hades and yzma one. and the jafar.... i think yzma particularly needs more dolls bc she has so many outfits in the movie to take inspiration from- and we need a two pack for kronk!
I don’t actually think Snow White has less songs; I watched it last week. Could just be my bias because I love the movie, but it has One Song/I’m Wishing, With a Smile and a Song, Whistle While You Work, Heigh Ho, Silly Song, the hand washing song, Some Day My Prince Will Come and the repris). The animation also includes much more detail than many more recent films. This was such a cool video to watch with you going over all the details and your reasonings for ranking and I agreed with almost everything you had to say here. I love the evil witch dolls and Cruella and Gaston. I’d love a Gaston doll someday. That Yzma is cute too.
I mostly agree with these rankings. I love Disney Villain dolls for their uniqueness and personality. My favorite line is definitely Midnight Masquerade. I wish you had included the evil stepsisters Anastasia & Drizella from that line-they're really special dolls that just came out in the second wave.
Love your outfit!!! I believe the more “pretty” villains that didn’t quite look like themselves were after the runway princess dolls and the villains were meant to also look like models which is why skinny Ursula looks like she does (also, for a while none of the villain dolls had articulation). I didn’t realize how much she looked like Ursula’s sister until you called it out though 😂 That’s the “normal” Disney store limited Vanessa doll you showed; the only thing I remember on the D23 one is she was super shiny though I’m sure there’s other things added I don’t remember. “A gala dress for a dominatrix” 😂😂😂😂😂 I loved watching this-there were so many villain dolls I forgot Disney made!
I'm still early in so I will edit as I keep watching. I'm a big Disney doll collector and fan so I can definitely give context. With the Villains Designer collection, it was meant to be modern fashion interpretations of the female villains to compliment the Princess Designer Collection from the year before (princesses were from fall 2011 and the villains were from fall 2012). With that first Queen of Hearts doll, it's definitely based off the animated film but it was more avant garde rather than movie accurate.
Skinny Ursula looks 100% like Morgana. If it was Morgana, or any other character, I actually do LOVE it. I actually disagree about Flotsam and Jetsam. She legit went fire to earth when they died.
Wow honestly why is everyone in that masquerade line so sexy..... anyway Also, I was surprised that you didn't feel the same way about the first couple Queen of Hearts dolls as you did that skinny Ursula doll. My first thought upon seeing them was that they'd made her skinny
I think it bothered me less cause other iterations have different weights? (Like the live action) It also seemed maybe less important to her character…or maybe I just like Ursula more? Or was too confused by them existing to think lmao
Honestly my only strong opinions about any Disney Villain dolls is that I cannot personally stand any t*ts-out-Maleficents. Her original design is not only very shape-based (a strong straight silhouette with horns atop), but she's also entirely flat-chested and no visible hips in the original movie. Straight up and straight down. Every single Maleficent that erases that and gives her big ol' balloons and inflates the hips rubs me up the wrong way like nobody's business. Literally personally offended by every single one. 😂 Let her be who she originally was! Why can't we appreciate that she's flat chested and has the curves of a pencil? Why do we have to change her body and her build? Obviously the day the fashion doll industry allows us to have a woman doll with a flat chest is probably the same day as the heat death of the universe but man. Original gorgeous flat-chested no-hipped Maleficent is RIGHT THERE, but instead every doll is her curvaceous cousin.
The first Queen of Hearts doll is wearing the animated movie outfit but my biggest problem with her is that she isn't fat! Maybe that's why you don't recognize her because the original animated QoH was a fat woman and the doll very much isn't....
Yeah tbh I didn’t even connect that that was the movie outfit because I was so convinced it couldn’t be connected to the movie with that being the base doll 😬
I think my problem of most of the Disney store le dolls and especially some of the villains dolls is that their body is way too slim and their heads are way too big, it comes cross like stick figures and childish
Ursula does ink once in the movie before Ariel meets her when she’s plotting with flotsam and jetsam 😂
Not the ozempic 😭💀💀

Love Yzma and Ursula, we definitely need more Yzma dolls going forward. Also the Midnight Masquerade line was spectacular in design.
Saving the Disney villians for Halloween is to perfect, loved this video and happy Halloween! 🫀🎃
Happy Halloween 👻

I love how everyone seems to agree that that one Lady Tremaine looks like she's headed to a different kind of ball xD
That Yzma doll is my grail doll, could not agree more with your assessment of her!

Low key forgot them lol but it’s for the best I would not have been kind

Aw thank you!!
If you’re right about the Vanessa…what is it about Disney and making their villains shiny 😂
@ Right???!! 😂😂😂

Obsessed with your look
Ehehe thank you!
I really want the masquerade queen of hearts

I FEEL SO SEEN WITH THE JERSEY SHEETS! Walmart $20ish sets?
Yesssss
The 1st queen of hearts looks like the Maryland flag
The first Queen of hearts was a Barbie collab!! That’s why she gives Barbie more then Alice in wonderland
Ahhh that makes more sense!
Am I crazy or does Hades look hot in that doll 😳 no pun intended 🫣
No you’re onto something
@@FaeryTaleDolls I’m glad I’m not alone 😭

Also the first Maleficent doll makes me wish Maleficent was a Drag Queen 😭💜💚🖤
