I don’t know who or what team or agency did this launch film, but they have done an absolutely masterclass of a job. Fair play!
I agree, an absolutely brilliant trailer that makes me want to buy the watch,
but so far, I'm resisting :D
"We" support that director budget
@@antseeds Garmin: We have an awesome new video: The watches will be more expensive.😂🫠
they'd better do as the watch is so disappointing.
Tactix 7 Amoled owner here. After so many Fenix i had year a go i got tactix as EX Military and CPO. Smashing Apple watch! Go Garmin Go!!
same choosing as you😊🎉
Would LOVE to upgrade to the Fenix 8 Solar, but I upgraded to the Fenix 7 Pro Solar this year. I'm LOVING it! The primary feature of the 8 that I would "want" is the mic/speaker. Thanks for building awesome devices though.
Also....if you would have asked me even 10 years ago if I would spend more than $50 for a watch I would have told you that you were insane, but here I am loving every Garmin that I have had thus far.
Me too I will get 9 because I love my 7
Fenix is defnitely the face of garmin.
The all in one.
But just like other brand, each year they improve it a little and slap another extra bucks.
If you have fenix 7 already.. Recommend waiting for the next fenix 9 or 10
But notoriously, garmin is slow to givr update to older product compare to coros
Defnitely would love the product more with:
1) wireless charging
2) more apps
3) next gen apps sensor
Haha the pricing is just a joke. 799$ to 1099$ that's a 38% increase... for ähm what? That's 33% over inflation...
I agree it's a bit of a sticker shock. But there are many new features and upgraded sensors, not the least of which is diving and apnea. For me that's huge since I spent a lot of time diving and I don't have to have two watches now.
What they really need to do is release a watch that was similar to the 6 and the 7 for around that same price mark, and also offer a version that has diving for a little bit more. It would be really awesome if they had one that had diving and aviation.
Actually $899 for the fenix 7 pro sapphire solar if you want to compare apples with apples
You voted for more inflation, and you'll get it.
If you think inflation is 5% then you are even more confused than we originally thought
Spot on. Skip. Buy some thing else. These companies are asshats of the highest order.
For sure a great watch with two downsides: 1 price, 2 no lte
Happy with my 965
Garmin have lost their mind with that price! No thanks!
Premium sportwatch genre 🎉
Killer fitness watch? Yes. Killer smartwatch? No. I live in Canada and Garmin Pay is a joke here...none of the 4 major banks or any of the credit unions support it. That said, this is a gorgeous piece of hardware and if I could take out a second mortgage I'd buy one;)
In Germany, garmin pay is also very bad. It is not supported by the banks.
try to associate your credit card to Curve and after use it on garmin.
In Bulgaria it is supported by several banks as well as Curve. Curve solve the lack of support for one of the banks I use.
So I'm guessing the Epix line is being dropped then 🤔 looks like a great release though, nothing ground breaking here but some incremental improvements is better than nothing. Itll be interesting to see what the Pro models have in store, but I'll stick with with my Epix for now...
I think epix will exist was a top tier technology line for early adoptera
@@Manguitom It is gone. They even removed it from their website.
You do know that software and hardware wise, the Epix and Fenix - prior to the 8 were basically identical with the exception of the OMLED display, right? Basically, the Fenix 8 OMLED is the new EPIX but they needed to consolidate the naming because to be quite honest, it was a bit confusing. The Epix Pro was essentially the "Fenix 7x Pro OMLED Edition" if you want to think of it that way.
No LTE, no 43mm MIP/Solar. Big disappointment. Would have loved to replace my Apple Watch with the Fenix 8. But as a surfer I rely on LTE to stay in touch with my buddies.
Still no cellular option for safety feature if we don’t have signal on our phone?
Curious where you would have a cellular signal for your watch, but not your cell phone.
@@BoBoZoBo correct, if you have an issue during your hicking, your watch can notify your emergency contact you set up in the Garmin app but your phone needs to get signal!!! Most current customers of the fenix wanted the same feature of the forerunner 945 LTE! So right now the only way to do so, is to buy an extra InReach device on top of your 1000$ Fenix….
@@BoBoZoBo the correct sentence would be « if your phone is dead because smartphone batteries are sh*t, or you don’t have it with you »
@@BoBoZoBo Basically any outdoor water sport. One example would be It's at least 100m from the car park to the isolated beach where I surf so if I get badly injured, I would need to basically crawl to my car and then still have to try open up my car to get my phone.
@@HaydnMacNicol I understand wanting cellular service on the watch. But the OPs comment makes it seem like they would be in a location where they would have a LTE cellular signal on their watch but not on their phone. If you don't have a signal on the phone chances are you won't have a signal on your watch.
With that being said, number one safety practice for anything outdoorsy especially in the water is don't go alone. So if safety is the concern, going solo is already a bad step in that direction. I've probably spent more time outside and in the water than I have on land. Thousands of immersions and excursions, never once did I really need to have my watch require an LTE signal. As somebody who does scuba diving, aviation, and week-long excursions out into the wilderness, the lack of a cellular signal on my watch is not a problem for me.
I much rather have a device that can handle basic navigation and ruggedness out in the wilderness without needing cellular support, because most of the places I go don't have that support anyway.
I bought the Garmin Fenix 6 Sapphire hoping it would support the payment system, as it was the first Garmin watch to offer this feature. However, despite their promises, no cards were supported after a year. Then, Garmin launched the Fenix 7, which supported many cards, and announced that the Fenix 6 would not receive any support. I waited for a year, expecting they would eventually support it, but it seems they just wanted to push users to buy the new version. I feel Garmin is more focused on making money than caring about their users. I don't trust them as a company anymore.
My IPhone 15 was cheaper than this watch… but I can make phone calls with my phone… browse the internet… watch movies… take pictures… how can Garmin justify a $1000 price tag on this watch???
Looks good but unfortunately I'll stick with my Epix due to the large price bump on the Fenix.
Excited to get mine. Finally, one watch with diving and all-around sports.......... Yeahhhhhhhhhhh
i have been looking but i cant find annything about the scuba feature. can i use gass mixes? plan dives? and if so, why should i buy a descent instead of this one? lot is unclear for me.
Well done Garmin, I’ll be moving to a competitor as this utterly stupid price, with features that are hardly beneficial to your core market, I simply cannot understand this price
From a security point of view.... why not implement a PIN to type for resetting the watch or when it comes to turn it on or off ? Same thing as in the Garmin Wallet ? It will definitely make the devices more personal and easier to protect . Not to say in the future for LTE models or satellite connected , the posibility to track and find lost devices 🤙🫡
I have Instinct 2X, and it's the best watch for me.
Good for you.
Ordered mine. Been waiting for the 47mm model with 1.4 inch display 👍😄
Insane battery life as always. But I hope Fenix 8 has smartphone aplications that actually works. Had to return Venu 3, cause loudspeaker are barely audible in car or outside enviroment. Had to aproach the watch to the ear and that with the volume on highest settings on watch and phone. You also do not get all notifications ...if any. And forget listen and respond voyce mail. Images, as adverted, never show up. And yes...its true. 500 euros is too much for the watch. The mic and battery life is excellent though.
Stupid Prices.. “Only from Garmin”
Hmm, not sure. Price is high. ECG would have been nice.. 😮.
The watch has an ECG app built-in.
I were waiting for this version because it supposed to include mobile data
早く日本でも発売して欲しいです!🎉
Yeah whenever I’m scuba diving or on an apex finex got me
Amazing film, I ordered mine already.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA😂
It's strange how blind brand loyalty works.
I didn't want these features like touch screen, built-in mic and speaker etc that's why i bought my Fenix 3
But without LTE … sticking with my 945 LTE and Garmin bounce for my daughter
Too expensive
Always worth considering that the batteries in these watches are NOT replaceable, even though they have screws on the bottom plate. I have owned several Garmin HRM’s over the years and the latest, my Fenix 6 Sapphire was by far the most expensive. Its battery has now deteriorated to an extent that I would struggle to record a marathon with it (PB 2:56). I just can’t afford to buy a new $1,000 plus watch every few years or so and then throw the failing device into a recycling bin. Just does not feel right. So, think twice before spending in excess of A$2,000 on the ‘Fenix 8 51mm’ flagship, or any of its siblings.
Rien de nouveau en terme de capteurs et Métriques ?
Juste l'amoled et microphone/haut-parleur ?
J aurais aimé un capteur de glycémie over skin
You can easily buy Garmin HRM-Pro Plus to track pulse accurately, a smartphone, and a power bank for the price they ask for just a watch. lol
Can HRM-Pro Plus be used to track metrics 24/7 eliminating the need for a health tracker (aka the watch)?
Already on back order. Elusive as the Fenix 7X was when it came out.
no LTE, no me
Great! Cause I own the 7 and the screen is much more darker without amoled
Yet AMOLED is barely visible in direct sunlight unlike MIPS, not mentioning battery life, which will be pathetic;)
Please please let me get rid of my right wrist Apple Watch and bring LTE to the Fenix lineup.
You know it’s missing guys, you emphasized so much on « when paired with your phone » during the live show… you know it’s lacking !
Exato, e eu quero me livrar do meu galaxy watch.
I’ll be keeping my 7X Pro SS then. From what I can see the only major upgrade is the mic/speaker 🤷🏼♂️
There are the bugs in the Fenix8.. Screen brightness in low light conditions makes my Fenix8 51 Amoled completely UNUSABLE!!! Also the watch lags even in the watch face menu.. it’s a horrible experience, never had these issues with my Fenix7X or my EPIXPRO 51!!
I've owned the fenix 6X pro sapphire for years, I'm quite satisfied, I do kayaking, cycling and free weights, but I'm not satisfied with the measurements it takes, as far as the "exertion" part from gymnastics with free weights and especially when it's done with intensity and by a lot of weight, what do I mean, a moderate workout of the same duration with a bicycle has more minutes of intensity recorded, so other results, because you only raise the heart rate, but the neuromuscular strain cannot be measured, which happens with free weights. very few minutes of intensity, even though you can't stand up straight and he thinks that you didn't exercise much. I don't know if there is a smartwatch or a sports watch that could properly measure the neuromuscular strain so that a correct result can be obtained for your condition the next day day and I think the same will happen with the fenix 8, so switching to the new model for me is not particularly worth it because what I mentioned is the only thing that is essentially missing for me from a real sports watch or smartwatch, when you are not only interested in running or cycling
It looks awesome! Not that much of an upgrade over my fenix 7 tho.
It has all the things! Impressive!
Wireless charging please!
Please please please. Quatix 8 🥳
Which colour is better?
@garmin when can we see a Garmin smart ring or a band 🎉🎉
Does it have afib detection in Canada yet? Only thing holding me back.
You just couldn't help stealing the orange button design touch from Apple, could you? 😁😄
Is there going to be tactix 8 as well?
Fenix 8 ❤❤❤
nice watch, too bad it doesn't have body fat scan pressure, I would buy it 😪
Feel like Fenix ultra
OMG!!!
Fenix 8 is scuba dive-available!?!?!?!
Is Descent line integrated into Fenix line?
I am a bit worried as Garmin start to remove features on their platform. Last feature: the objectives has just disappeared totally.
Now if you want to set some objectives ( x times at the gym this month, x time running session this month, etc... ) you have to make it on a paper or on other platforms... What a pity.
The Garmin Watches are really amazing. However, I will skip this release. I have some concerns with the quality of the new buttons and there is no useful new feature for me.
I am waiting some AI to propose more fitness programs adapted with what I am doing and not only Run and Bike.
Would be great if Garmin would Fix Major Bugs in the existing Software. Like the hanging Heartrate Monitor, that stays at a value for the whole run. But since 2 Months nothing. Sad for runners because the expensive Watch isnt able to track a simple run. Issue persists since 17.28 and still exists in 18.12 beta.
most metrics are wrong. impossible to train with a plan because u cant reach target frequencies.
So the Tactix 8 is about 2 - 3 months away :)
I'm more interested in the Instinct. Bunch of nerds obsessed with smart phone features like LTE instead of realizing this is meant to be a tool
13 000 NOK is a no.
I have the 6 so I'll buy a 7 now that the price will be lowered.
8 is for those that have 7 but REALLY want amoled display.
I'll wait for 9 with the big purchase, but I would've bought this if it had cost, let's say 10k NOK, 280 USD cheaper, because I know I'll have it for years but at 13 000 it's just in the "nope" realm.
hi
will the epix pro gen 2 get these new watch faces.
No
Bigger screen is welcome! But what about brightness?
Is it at the same poor level of 1000 nits. If you run on sunlight with sunglasses is not enough
I have Galaxy watch Ultra and Epix pro sapphire and the one thing that Samsung is better is visibility in direct sun light.
3000 nits at Ultra are far way better than Epix display
Missing lte, satellite SOS, new sensors and blood pressure, I stay with my epix pro 51 mm
1k USD for a training watch? WUT?
Still waiting for quatix 8 pro
No LTE and ridiculos prices. No thanks. Ad is good though
it is not worth replacing with a newer model at this price
cant wait for the day it will be priced 1999
No LTE?.... 😢
This guy needs to narrate audio books
MIP or OLED..... Don't know which one to choose
MIPS, better visibility in direct sunlight and way way less battery life consumption.
But there will be only oled version of fenix 8...
@@daniel05061000 nope, there is the MIP Solar version too
Price is way too high. Lower it or look forward to reduced sales please.
Jaskolski Well
And the Fuc…. LTE? 🤦🏻♂️
To charge every day?? No.
@@daniel05061000 With my Apple Watch ULTRA, yes... I'll still go for a run in the mountains and at the same time talk to your sister through the watch, LOL!
Yes please!
no matter 8, 9 or 10, they will stop given new feature to their watches in the future, push you to buy a new one!
No cellular capacity? Are you guys joking? No way I’m spending these sort of bucks for something that’s half-cut. In my opinion, this is not a value for money buy.
Ganz ehrlich.
It's got everything in it. The one watch to rule them all.
Big price hike for little improvements. This is Garmin just reacting to Ultra, lets give them diving but don't want to cannibalize Descent line too much, so then you get this...
$1000 watch that can't make a phone call or send a message by itself it is not really "the ultimate smartwatch"
But Samsung and Apple have yet to beat garmin in battery life or training metrics
Go and buy an Apple Watch for that 😅 & charge it every day 😊
I love my Epix 😊
a wearable with LTE to always be tracked even when you dont have your phone. awsome we need it.
@@mew1534 you don't need battery or metrics if you are dead in the woods due to no ability to use the watch as a safety feature
🎉🎉🎉
Total Scam price!
🎉
🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾🙌 splendid, beautiful!
Smartwatch doesnt make you healthier and fitter
🇪🇨 poder
lol more expensive than a real smartwatch but not many new features... this is just greed
Waste of money!
South african accent. That's a first for a product launch.
What an awful advert
This is too colorful and full of gimmiks to be a respected sport watch. I don't know what is your target, but I won't buy it.
Makes apple ultra watch look pretty pathetic.
Torn betweeen fenix7xpro and epix2 now the 8 released i need referral
too expensive
