even though its a love hate relationship with ubisoft at times, they made some of the most enjoyable games. far cry, AC, prince of persia, rayman, splinter cell etc.
hopefully splinter cell, rayman, POP will see a return.

Splinter Cell is a possibility but we'll wait till we get to E3
For Rayman, Ancel is still busy with BGE2 & WILD so I have hopes for him to give Rayman 4 to another dev team or finish BGE2 and Wild first.
Don't know about Prince of Persia but I would love for another game for his return.

Indeed, maybe most of their games are not GotY worthy but at they are the most consistent publisher/developer that rarely if not, never had development problem, delayed release and their games always released on three major platform on day one.

Even though every publisher has their issues, Ubisoft is the lesser evils of the big 3. Ubisoft is far above EA & Activision, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong however, Ubisoft still has a LOT to improve on.

They have set the golden standard for games as a service in the industry as a whole. They also set a very high bar in how devs listen and use feedback from the community while communicating with them while other publishers and devs would choose to stay silent or prolong answers. They have improved much and are far better than Activision, EA, Bethesda, TakeTwo, and many more. They also are not afraid to try new IPs and idea and support them. Three main examples are Siege, For Honor and Division. Siege is practically unique and a juggernaut.

@@joebillage3578 things such as microtransactions are still a problems. In ac odyssey the exp boost microtransaction is kinda scummy and i know some people enjoy the combat of the game and wouldn't mind grinding, but i wasn't the biggest fan of the combat but was intrigued with the story and prefered to power through it. Also the r6 siege packs are not the worst but still bad. They didn't have them before but now you have to get lucky to get what you want, especially in special events when I want to buy a certain skin but I have to buy like 20 packs to get what I want. Ubisoft overall is great and certainly doesn't have the worst microtransactikn system, but that doesn't make it right.

Man, I know Ubisoft can be pretty bad at times, but I love how honest Yves Guillemot was in the interview, he seems really humble. I had no idea he started the company back in the 80s. He's from the same generation as Miyamoto and Iwata. Unlike those suits at EA and Activision, he actually understands and plays games. Ubisoft still has a lot of growing to do, but newfound respect.

Mr Guillemot comes across as a very genuine person. It seems his mission and passion to put the product first hasn’t changed from the day he started his company. I guess this is a fundamental difference to CEO’s that are bought it with a singular mandate to increase shareholder value and place little value on the long term legacy of a company’s brand.

It's funny because at first I didn't think I'd care at all about hearing from the CEO of Ubisoft as I much prefer hearing from developers but I have to say that Yves is really smart. I like the way that he recognizes that the best way to be profitable is to allow your tallent to do what they do and that it's not so important to compete directly with the most popular games but to simply figure out what makes those games great and try to compete on that level.

Brilliant episode! Loved this interview, I wish I could understand him a bit better but I got the basics of what he was trying to say. I had to rewind a few times to figure out what he said but I got it, lol. Fascinating how they fought off EA and Vivendi. Ubisoft is a great worker friendly, consumer friendly business. They have a business model that if more corporations followed the world economy would be so much better off. We might not have the top heavy wealth inequality we have now. They understand that without employees that are happy and customers that are happy the long term viability of the product will suffer. Profit is important but so is the health of the company. Vivendi would have squeezed every penny out of each IP until there was no creators left to make anything new. Ubisoft is my favorite video game company.

Ubisoft has been by far my favourite publisher since the original Xbox. So many great franchises. Such consistent high quality (a couple of stutters here and there aside). Along with Rockstar they have really become the masters of the open world game and long may it continue. I'm with Ryan though, Splinter Cell is really the game that I've missed the most and it seems by the time it comes it's going to have skipped an entire console generation (likely it will cross generation). Looking forward to E3 to see what's announced for sure.

I agree wholeheartedly. I get why they want to make it accessible for action players as well; but the great thing about the original splinter cells were that they made you move slow and quietly. A complete return to that focus on stealth would make my day. My favourite games ever. I would love to see one set in the cold war

@@docmcbungas3303 exactly. Splinter cell back to how it was in the first 3 games is how it should be. They added in cover shooter action sequences and ........ I forgot what it's called, sync shot, they added all that and it wasn't a great game at any of it, it was bland and forgettable, and don't get me started on the way the character movement felt with the later games!! They already have ghost recon, assassins creed and the division for those other things, just make splinter cell a dark, shadowy, slower paced, sneaking about in confined spaces (not the whole time but those tight hallways etc do make for anxious moments), a tense atmosphere, free up the movement and camera and the guards, make their patrols less linear so it isn't a learn the routine and that's that kind of playthrough, lol yeah I think about this too much, I miss these games so much.

I keep saying Ubisoft is probably the best AAA publisher right now, yeah they have too may micros in some of the games i dont buy them. They support their games long term anymore which i personally like and his answer was genuine about the micros and didn't seem like it was a pure evil motive behind it all to me anyways.
