It's refreshing to see someone actually pick the price themselves. I hate it when people spend time asking the audience, when the audience doesn't know any better than they do normally.
...and he knew what numbers to choose or wanted to choose. Either way he was sure of himself and knew what he wanted. Even I could not play it the way he did. Tyler was a smart cookie.
@@MrFlynn-bt6mt it's just a preference. Bob was more of an old school host with both color and play-by-play commentary. Drew is more like a contestant that happens to also be hosting the game too, experiencing the game with the others. But he always seems a bit behind the action that's going on because of that.
If you pause at the 3:00 mark, you’ll see the name of all the games played in the background. I went to a taping of TPIR and saw that sign. I knew all the games they were going to play prior to the doors opening showing the contestants.
Not really. There is a 1 in 32 chance of that happening (if the numbers are chosen at random), and when the game debuted with 4 numbers it was 1 in 16.
Jonathan Singh i do to! i'd prefer this over "oh mighty sound effects lady" anyday. However, If they could do it, if a female contestant played, it should be "gentleman" for male: the other way around.
It's really just one person doing the sound effects. So the Drew phrasing in spite of the cheese of it, is correct. It was really just a Sound Effects Man or Lady. Not a group of them. Better than what Doug Davison came up with.
oh, I remember , back in day when contestants actually were impressed, and excited about their impending prize. it was fun to watch then. now the contestants faces say, um... what else you got for me?
Lol because they know that they have to pay taxes on the prizes. I’ve heard that many winners never receive the prizes because they can’t pay the taxes. It’s sad really........
The secret to winning "One away" is to get only one car horn, meaning you have only one number right. You know the only right one is the first number of the car. Then you automatically win by turning the last four numbers.
I think that was the one about two or three weeks earlier where they had the first contestant (Karen) that got every number right on the first try during season 35. That one has already been posted as well.
@@OOOHBILLY I re-watched it just now, it had cassette AND CD player the announcer said, and adjustable pedals (moveable gas pedal and brake) and keyless entry, and engine immobilizer. It did have a few (not a lot) of high tech for the day features.

The man KNEW what he wanted to go with.
CAR
Such a great contestant…… so confident. Love the fact he didn’t ask the audience for their input .
Something about that colour palette aesthetic, the simple red and blue numbers on the mustard-yellow backing. Always loved it.
Wins a van, goes in the other direction to thank Roger Dobkowitz... Such a gentleman and loyal TPIR fan right there!
Yes, calls Bob Barker sir. as well. That is some best damn TV that day.
This gentleman knew how to play, didn't he? He was calm, cool, and collected.
...and he knew what numbers to choose or wanted to choose. Either way he was sure of himself and knew what he wanted. Even I could not play it the way he did. Tyler was a smart cookie.
Compared to people today, definitely
@@namk19 agreed
Tyler picked own numbers, as opposed to the wimps today who look into the audience for help. Make Your Own Decisions !!
Damn, we need more people like him.
You used the one twice Joy
Wrong episode
"We have a winner! Tyler has a van! Everybody's happy!"
I love Bob's zest, and the joy he has for the contestants winning!
He said each number with confidence like he already knew what the price was and apparently he did. Good player.
Yet another reason bob barker was the best
Yeah Drew is horrible
@@MorganNye How is he horrible? Drew genuinely wants people to win too.
Bob genuinely seemed more interested

Even though the title gives it away he wins perfectly, I was still pumped LOL.

Every show does this. From loyal fan since ‘76
Look at him, he won, look at his face.
Best part of this video: car cue #30. Always a classic.
Today (20 September 2022) was the first IMPERFECT playing of One Away! NO NUMBERS RIGHT!
Not really. There is a 1 in 32 chance of that happening (if the numbers are chosen at random), and when the game debuted with 4 numbers it was 1 in 16.
2:58 how hard did the guy squeeze his hand for him to make that face lol
lol
I don't believe it was his hand he was squeezing.
This is from the June 13th 2007 episode.
His first smile came after hearing the car horn after the fourth number. The guy was cool.
God, Bob was the best.
Tyler saves the day!
R. I.P. Bob Barker
This guy should host Price, he's a good announcer
Imagine if he said the price was $43,312
Getting all numbers correctly is a rare thing
Today is 10/4/2023 and this just happened
Even though it was out of order, it had 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
I like Bob Barker's version when his tenure was "Ladies do I have at least #'s right?"
Jonathan Singh i do to! i'd prefer this over "oh mighty sound effects lady" anyday. However, If they could do it, if a female contestant played, it should be "gentleman" for male: the other way around.
they used gentleman in the 80's
Agreed. It's way better that that "oh mighty sound effects lady" drivel.
Jonathan Singh originally Gentleman

@@Tristin471 And that's fucking ridiculous. I guess politicians can't get enough money out of us little people. Scumbags.
Idk, I watched an episode from the 80s and sometimes they were pretty straight-faced back then too
Back then, the taxes were high but not excessively so. Nowadays? Good luck affording them...
Bob and Drew are nicest guys ever
2:59 Interesting how, even in the Barker era, when you saw "Barker's Bargain Bar", it was still the Bargain Game.
Never has anyone been so excited for a minivan.
That was awesome
ohhhh. Metallic paint!
And a rear window defroster
He knew the price.
It kinda sorta looked a bit like that
Forget the van...take the gal
This was from Bob's last week.
Congratulations
I wonder why the NEON ONE AWAY lights don't flash no more, I think it stopped in.... 2002?
This show changed so much
He kinda looks like Jack Black at 2:17.
I was thinking the same exact thing!
@@jabbersb6304 same here
tyler, the elskunko slayer!
Really a mini van
what a way to end the skunk show hopes
Now why do you want a skunk show???
This is a great price is right video
My first guess for the Price of that Car would have been 1 of the following 3.
1: $21,534
2: $21,532
3: $23,514
is the model included with the car or does she have to be won separately?12-29-17
Weird they said back then ladies instead of oh mighty sound effects lady do I have at least blah blah numbers right?
In the 80's, it was "Gentlemen", and with Doug Davidson, it was "People in control".
Now it’s People of Unknown Sexual Origin
Pretty hard to be excited about a minivan...
GhostSpectre that's what I was thinking
yeah, who'd get excited about winning something you didn't want worth $21,000....
Knowing some of the exotics they've given away...me.
well if you ever win a minivan, just give it to me
Maybe he has a big family or a friend to sell it to
As far as I know, yes!
1:19 I heard Tyler chuckling.

I love wins.
TH-cam recommendation: you didn’t ask for this but here you go
There was a playing on one away where Bob said "Mama needs a new car. Mama needs a new car" You got that?

No that was someone completely different.
Does the van include the girl?
Rachel Reynolds. Yow.
Tyler kind of looks like actor Max Adler ("Glee" and "Switched At Birth").

Wednesday.👍
How many transmissions do you think that van is on assuming it's still on the road?

It probably has rust all around the bottom half of the van I never see one anymore without loads of rust.
Airdate?
Rachel Reynolds The Price Is Right
Plot Twist: Bargain Game is the Next game after this!
The price is wrong........
Must have been happily married or gay. What warm blooded straight man passes up a chance to greet the beautiful show girl after winning?
Hey Tyler, if you’re going to wear shorts, you might want to get some sun first. : )

Is this the only game that was won that day?
Even at that time that van worth about $50 bucks
i always disliked one away because they were like so cringy when asking the "mighty sound effects lady" if 1-5 numbers are right
That moment you’re on the price is right and realize you are offered a jank mini van lol
Very basic van! Manual windows!!
Bruh, it still had a cassette player. Clearly many years ago. Most vehicles still had crank windows back then... unless they were luxury cars.
