As a former 90s kid thank you for the great and funny memories. I will always remember the schedule for the TPIR every weekday @10 am. Rest easy legend Mr. Bob Barker.
Me too! Except it was 11 here in Eastern time. I remember my college roommate back in 2001-2002 had a break in his classes around that time and would watch it every day. Made me jealous because I always had classes that overlapped at that time. But at least I got done with class earlier :-). Man those were the days. My life was much simpler then, all my grandparents except for one were still alive and it was just a great time. My first years out of college were really great too! As time goes on I see that life is still good and you can still have plenty of fun, but you start to understand the concept of mortality, something that you don’t usually think about when you are in your late teens through your mid 30’s. When you make it to 40 you start to see just how incredibly fast our lives go by. It’s kind of scary at how fast time does go by as an adult. At 40 most people are at or approaching (or have already passed) the halfway point of life. Once I turned 40 for some reason that thought popped in my head. Oh well, nothing to do but live with it and understand that that’s how life works! Go about your business and don’t worry about it. Easy to say I know.
Watching TPIR 40 years ago was part of my childhood, it was automatic and what people almost took for granted. R.I.P. to Bob Barker.. there won't ever be another host like him. Legend.
Everyone knew it the moment she found out she had only 1 number right originally. They knew the truck wasn't $5000. So they knew the 7 was the one that was right making the other numbers right after teh change.
It's interesting you point that out, because (all the silly shenanigans of this episode aside) to get 3 wrong when it's pretty clear you have the 1st digit correct, you'll kinda automatically win. It's actually worse if you only have 1 wrong, because you won't know which it is. I suppose that means the very best to get (aside from all correct) is all 4 wrong, you automatically win. Have you ever seen that happen?
Looks to me like the crew was following the actual game format. It was Bob that went off-script. After the contestant makes the changes, they are supposed to outright reveal the actual retail price, one digit at a time--with no second round of honks. Bob went way off script with his call for a second round of honks, which sent the crew scrambling to work the price reveal into his extraneous honks.
@@StoneC0ld5345 The weird thing is we KNEW she won the car as soon as the first number was revealed. She had to change 3 numbers, and the one she kept was the first number. I don't know why Bob didn't realize that. There was no suspense. 😉
4:00 The "I think that guy has gone to the same bar that she's been too !" after the buzzer malfunction, had me laughing uncontrollably. I mean, Barker just found some hilariously funny lines sometimes... XDDDD

Yes, a confused (perhaps malfunctioning?) Bob was the culprit here. Producers were trying to figure out how to handle his unplanned requests. He kinda brought the chain of events upon himself in this fun playing.
It was probably after this they figured out how they wanted to play this properly. The horns would be used to indicate how many numbers they had right initially then after they change what the ones they want, Bob would just have them start revealing the correct price one number at a time without any horns
I'm pretty sure that's how this was supposed to work. That's why they started revealing the answer while Bob was trying to get them to play the horns for some strange reason.
Wait, was this the first time they played this game? I don't think it was, but because Bob messed up, thanks to drunk Edith 😂 the stage hand behind the game was sliding the numbers early. These bloopers used to make the best shows!🤣💲

I always loved seeing PIR mess up somehow. Bob always reacted with humor.
Bob done a great job dealing with all the dreaming workers and the sweet old dreaming lady.
I'm watching on Freevee and can't wait for them to move along to Rod Roddy. I grew up watching this show in the late 80s and 90s
👍🏻
It was probably after this they figured out how they wanted to play this properly. The horns would be used to indicate how many numbers they had right initially then after they change what the ones they want, Bob would just have them start revealing the correct price one number at a time without any horns
True, Mario.
@@jamesmcclelland1414 True, you need to stop literally replying to everyone. And you wonder why people have issues with you
True but we knew with the 1st number correct she had already won the truck
@@buddyward3686 👍🏻
I'm pretty sure that's how this was supposed to work. That's why they started revealing the answer while Bob was trying to get them to play the horns for some strange reason.
Bob's best were the big women that wanted to pick him up and he had to play "dodge me" with them lol!
Wait, was this the first time they played this game? I don't think it was, but because Bob messed up, thanks to drunk Edith 😂 the stage hand behind the game was sliding the numbers early. These bloopers used to make the best shows!🤣💲
My mom watched him EVERY day and if I called during the program, I would ask, “what are you doing?” And she’d reply “I’m watching the stud”…..lol. Miss you mom
After the 7 was shown, you KNEW she had to have won. Even in 1985, that truck was more than $5,000! 😅
