- Making progress on the list of regular maintenance items in order to get back to a good know baseline for this 2002 BMW R1150RT Motorcycle that has been off the road for the past three years. Today we changed the Transmission Oil, Final Drive Oil and the Air Filter. It decided to fight me a little bit today....yesterday was too easy.....

Great content mate, very informative
Great perseverance David, well done. Kind regards, Richard.
It looks a lot prettier with the tupperware on Dave!
Agreed Phil...she a bit of an ugly duckling underneath....
When you get stuck drain or fill plugs give them a hit with a drift the shock is usually enough to relieve some of the tension on the sealing washer
Good to know. I’ll try that next time! Thanks
on your final drive it looks like a main bearing replacement is coming from what I see on the drain plug. not uncommon I have done MANY.
Mike Strang Yes that one bearing does a lot of work on a heavy bike, metal debris in the oil will inevitably appear at some stage !
@@johnmoruzzi7236 mine died at 36'000 most make it to50'000 and seen one or two make it to100'000
Hi Mike, yep!
just curious how many miles on that bike when you started working on it?
Sorry for the late reply…about 93000 km
