You guys should have waited for 10 more years before putting those lens covers built in Lol xD Could have done it sooner, even from one X! I mean why wont you think a lens cover is necessary built in? Why would you make people buy them separately and then stop their production at all! -_-

@@NishaanAhmed Not wise to have covers ¨Built in¨ glass/plastic covers break/scratches and need to be replaced at some point. (haven´t used/had an Insta 360 btw)

@@B-RaDD Yeah dude, i have an ONE Rs, and X2, they made you buy the protectors separately. And the cheaper ones made of plastic so no point of buying them anyway, you need to buy the premium lens guard of 50$, which they stopped making later on. You dont get my point. Why could we not have those lens guards come with the cameras till now? Why waiting for X4?

Even if I never own any of those 360 action cameras, the reviews always amazed me.
Well, he himself said he's not big on action cameras so I guess he has much more fun reviewing then than actually using them afterwards.

Insta360 has been killing it this past year. I've been using the Insta360AcePro on my trip to Europe and it's awesome. Just peaked the summit of the highest mountain in Germany a few days ago and took the Ace Pro along for the ride. (Upload to come). I also brought Peter's luma bag with me. I can also recommend this as well.
I just bought the x3 in January and it’s the best camera I’ve ever owned you never miss a shot with these cameras. Man now I gotta go get the x4 😂

Peter's hype video was exciting, but I'm not completely convinced that the image and video quality surpass that of the x3. I think a side-by-side comparison might be necessary to see if it's truly a significant upgrade worth making. Am I the only one feeling this way after watching a few vids of it this morning? Seems like its totally worth it if its your first though.
Good comment though, however it now has h.265 and bitrate is higher, I can confirm this will have better colours and for grading, :)
They aren't paying you enough, you are a good salesman. I SWORE I would never give them my money again after SO MANY problems with previous products and other issues. But here you are, got me with a bundle in my cart. You've EARNED the moniker of "influencer", which I know you hate.
The picture quality of these insta 360’s looks sooo bad in my opinion. The colors are overly saturated and without ND it just looks unpleasant to the eye 👁️. Not even Peter McKinnon can make them look good. Even though he is one of the best out there. I hope I don’t offend anybody. And yes a little bit influencer style in this video. 😅
@@mariaandwolfi, I agree, but there has to be some give and take with varying technologies (dammit, I can't believe I'm on here defending Insta360 after they've wasted thousands of my dollars and treated me so poorly afterwards). It's like when "action cameras" first became a thing, it was accepted that, and still is, that you aren't going to get the quality or versatility of a camera with changeable lenses or larger sensors. But you could strap it to your surfboard, Bro! So it's the give and take and we can certainly be excited about, or, as Peter is stating, over-excited about, major leaps in certain aspects while not having ALL of them addressed. We also know they likely had all of this ready four years ago but they have to have new products to sell so they can't give it all to us all at once.
I truly despise the treatment I've received from Insta360, it's been some of the worst I've ever experienced from a company that I've given a lot of money to... but they're still better than GoPro.
The amount of issues and bugs i have faced with their products is crazy, i am never buying their products again
@@tamemayman3863, dammit! I know you're right! I have been through this. Why am I letting Peter "influence" me??? Side note, I like having a 360 camera and one of the things this company screwed me on was buying their dive housing, that comes with a specific "vertical" battery, which outright died after two uses. I have contacted the company and they have stated they stopped making the batter due to lack of interest. So I have this $170 piece of shelf ornament and no ability to take my camera diving. I did buy a dive housing for my phone but it's sub-optimal.
@@tamemayman3863 I had the first edition and they gave us features right before the two came out. Sales weren't there so they took all the features away and did a gaslighting campaign that one couldn't handle it when it had been for 3 weeks or more. So I'm being petty and never buying anything from them.
I recently purchased my first insta360 camera (X3) and I’ve been impressed. The software/app is a lot easier to work with than I thought it would be. I just might upgrade and have two 360 cameras. Great review 👍👍

Ok but does it overheat like crazy? Because my rs 1nch only performs for 40 mins max and that’s if I take the case off.
Have a X3, but is the extra pixels worth the upgrade? I still get better picture quality with my GoPro7 when reframing.

I watched a few objective reviews in which they not only praised a lot of features but highlighted the often present stiching issues and artifacts tagging along with all the marvelous things it can do.
Great video. I love the Insta360 cams. Used them a lot over the years, they never let me down. Would always choose Insta360 over GoPro.

I just picked up an Insta360 Ace pro (loved the vid where you gave 3 creators them to see what they could do). Really impressive! Took some lower light shots with my nephews running around a museum in Philly and was very impressed. I can only imagine what the 4X has opened up for creators now

I bought the X3 last year, and after playing with it for 10 days, returned it to BestBuy, the image quality was bad and the X3 had freezing issues. I had to remove the battery to restart it. This camera is definitely an upgrade from the X3, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Even the Insta360 studio app on the Desktop is still buggy as hell. It runs very slowly on my computer, and I have a very powerful PC.
I think I will just get a new regular action cam (DJI Action 5) this year instead of the X4. Maybe when the X5 comes out and they further improve the video quality and fix the bugginess of the Insta 360 Studio - I will consider it. Good sales pitch though 💩🤑 but the image quality is very bad - it still looks after reframing as if it is 480p, and it does not look natural, you can see that the footage is off; plus it completely falls apart at low light.

I see this from the perspective of "core communications" rather than action cameras. The massive cost reduction alters the cost/benefit equation of traditional multi-cam if the offset of more work in post-production makes sense. I'm dabbling in this ASAP and currently thinking BIG MISTAKE that I missed this booth at NAB yesterday. Thanks Peter! Great video.

so does this essentially replace the 1-inch sensor X3 as well? or will there be a bigger sensor version on its way for lowlight?
How’s the continuous shooting mode working on? On the X3 it takes bout 30secs to continue to the next block of recording.
an 1 inch sensor and not overheating would definitely improve the thing. basically a waterproof version of the already existing insta360 one rs 1 inch model. if you look from that perspective then the x4 is not worth it. buuuut it finally has a 10 bit flat picture profile so if you are coming from an insta360 any product. then yes the upgrade is worth it.

That lens cover is what I've been waiting for. I just recently destroyed my X2 because of that. Camera works great,but it's useless now, the lenses are just destroyed. Oh yeah and 8k is a good upgrade too.
The X2 had lens guards, most of insta360 products have lens guards available.
Any issues with the x4 connecting to samsung/android devices? I got mine today and I cant connect it to my s23 ultra and the x4 has a yellow light blinking
Big fan of the insta360s when conditions are well lit, but you had more that 2 cameras on the airplane, 1 on wing, 1 in cockpit, 1 on rudder. But still great video coming from these new cameras and its impressive. I'd like to see a larger sensor though.... Give me a larger sensor 360 and i'll buy another, nothing great comes from a small sensor unless its a bright day

Very cool stuff … thanks! I’m thinking about upgrading my action cam for my sailing videos and this looks like the bomb! Big question for me is how good is the audio in windy ambient conditions? I’m assuming it’s water resistant. Top quality sound is a priority for me because awesome video with bad sound sucks! Would appreciate any thoughts on sound quality in adverse outdoor conditions … thanks.

I own X3 and has been using it with the lens protector. However when I went hiking in Argentina, I drop it and the lens protector cracked and the lens is scratch. Replacing the lens will cost me more than $300. How is the quality and durability of X4 lens? If I am to use the premium lens guards, do I need to take it off when using the diving case, or when I use it underwater?
