    Thank you for sharing this idea. We’ve been using baking soda since I was a child to control fridge odor. You do not need to waste a roll of TP, nor give up the space in your fridge. Just put 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda in a small bowl and set it in the fridge. Works like a charm. No water or toilet paper needed. One request: I’m a native English speaker, but not a speed reader. The titles are not on the screen long enough to read. If your editing software doesn’t have a read timer for the titling tool, please consider using the free aegisub version 3.x titling software. It includes a timer that graphically shows whether the screen time for a title is long enough to read comfortably. I use it all of time with my videos. Very helpful.

      Vaseline petroleum jelly is another good way to maintain the seal on the refrigerator seal around the door. Simply wipe clean into the crevices removing food particles and spills if any. And take a small amount of the petroleum jelly on your finger and spread lightly all throughout the seal and perimeter of entire area if excess then wipe with tissue or cloth this will help to increase deal and prevent the strip from drying out sooner and keeps the life of this part lasting longer..tip from fridge repair guy.

    This takes too long and I'm a busy person. Just ensure you buy a good fridge freezer and ensure the door closes properly especially if you have teens around who swipe and go with their food to go. 😂 A little cleaning of your fridge weekly or monthly to keep it tip top condition is all that's needed.

    Charcoal also works for refrigerator odors. Just put like a small cup or container in a back corner of the fridge with a couple of charcoal briquettes and it works twice as good as baking soda.

    Both were good things to know, thanks. You can use a box of Kleenex if TP bothers you. My mother used to use brown colored napkins Paper towels and even newspaper will work. And don’t forget to,use in your trunk. Janice. A little North-of Memphis, TN

    • @shelleysmith4017
      @shelleysmith4017 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      My mother always used the charcoal from the aquarium or pet store for the trunk. She stuck it in an pair of pantyhose that had a run on one leg. She would cut the foot off, fill with charcoal and tie it with a knot. When it stopped absorbing the odor, she would unknot it, empty the charcoal out into a large bowl, give it a rinse and let it dry, then re use it. I even do that with my fridge. I used an old curtain metal hook to hang it in the fridge. I had some fine mesh cotton fabric left from something and sewed it into a smallish square, sewed a bit of Velcro to the one side, filled with charcoal and it lasts for ages. At the first whiff of any scent, I take it out, wash the charcoal and the fabric, dry them and reuse them. It is cheap af and lasts for a really long time.

Wrap it up with a twist tie when dry. Place in fridge/freezer and replace once a week. Just toss it in garden. Gravity is your helper: Adjust its front feet up a little. This puts the front higher than back. Ideally, gravity helps complete the door shutting. Generally, I think it is still a feature: Not all floors are level. Best done when first putting the fridge in its spot or later with help from someone.
    If the strip is too small, some are designed to be pulled out for a new one to be pushed in. Check your warranty and repair/maintenance insurance because DIY might void coverage. Or if appliance is owned by rental service etc ask for a fix. Their choice to fix seal, adjust feet, or replace unit. Otherwise read its user guide or maker’s website or ask your network for help. I’ve seen tutorials on social media, TH-cam mainly.
    Closing: Check this first. Closing should complete without an aggressive shove.
    Seal: Do this if needed.
    HEAT: Kitchen design with stove/oven right next to fridge means the fridge will have to work harder; the fridge seal is doomed to shrink or warp. Headache, spoilage, costly energy, failed appliance.
    When in doubt, ask.
    You don’t have to know enough to be an expert. You do need to know enough about who to trust, and especially when DIY will cost more or endanger your home or office.
