    This vid saved my bacon with a 1 year old HRX217. I thought the tranny died, but it turns out the c-ring popped off (if it was ever installed) and the key eventually fell out. Luckily everything was still in the hub - and there was some factory grease on the gear and the bearing. Thanks.

    Big thanks for this detailed video! Was able to fix the drive on my left rear wheel on a Honda Harmony II. Also WD40d the gears, which helped on both sides. Thanks for the suggestion and video.

    Thank you for making and sharing this video. Honda suggests lubrication every 100 hours, but has no instructions available for the pinion service. :-)

    Your Video was very helpful..didnt fix my problem though..LOL..But it did get me familiar with the operation of it..Turns out to be a simple cable adjustment and the axle was sliding left and right..both snap rings came off the shaft so it was kinda floating in there..Now its nice and tight..Now I just need to replace the wheels..This honda runs so well it wore the tires off it..Such a simple piece of machinery..Thanks for the Vid

    Thanks for the video. The spring and latch was not I expected before taking it apart. But after watching your video, you showed me exactly what to do. Even after putting it back together after a cleanup and a spring stretch, didn't work, but after a quick grind of the key it did. Glad to do it myself instead of paying a shop.

    Nice repair, if I may suggest finding either a paved or cement surface to work on it, perhaps set it on a big piece of plywood... So that when a small piece goes flying you can find it again.

    Hi, I love how you showed this. Very easy and understandable. If you don't mind, I have a question. My mower is a harmony. when you engage the self propel, the wheels do not spin and the transmission axle do not spin at all. Would that be the same problem that you fixed in this case, or is my problem different? I appreciate your help. Thanks.

    I just did a repair similar to this on my cub cadet. I took it out this year and only one of the wheels was pulling, Its actually done this since i got it but i didnt fix it, So when i took it out for the first time 2 weeks ago I tore it apart and noticed the right wheel was cracked, i didnt replace it but i fixed it using a piece of flat steel the ratchet is different than that of this one but after i fixed it, it has posi now and it hauls ass and really pulls strong!

      9 times out of ten it the transmission drive shaft and the fiber axle bushing have become very corroded and need to be cleaned. Sandpaper the axle starting with 220 grit and go up to 400 grit. Put a little lube (anti seize or WD40) and that should be the REAL fix....not what you see here!!!

    I am working on an HRX right now, I hate it! They make it too difficult to get to things. It isn't too bad once you figure it out but I would much rather a simple old pushmower without all the bells and whistles

    I adjusted my Honda drive cable and now it will not roll back as easy as it used to what can I do for that

    • @lr0584
      @lr0584 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      YOU HAVE ADJUSTED THE NUTS ON THE ADJUSTMENT TO FAR ,TURN THE ADJUSTMENTS THE OTHER WAY TO RELEASE THE DRIVE . WHEN YOU ADJUST THE DRIVE YOU SHOULD TURN THE DRIVE LEVER ALL THE WAY OFF OR SLOW. START THE MOWER ENGAGE THE LEVER ONE NOTCH AND THE MOWER SHOULD START TO ROLL ON A SMOOTH SURFACE. LOOK IN THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR THE CORRECT ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE.

    • @rjbubba9902
      @rjbubba9902 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the same question, why would it click if the wheels are turning forward as if you are mowing. Shouldnt it lock because the transmission is not turning the wheel click when you pull the mower backwards

    • @spacecowboy98
      @spacecowboy98 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      After the wheel is installed the wheel should be going forwards and lock backwards.

      @@spacecowboy98 why wont the wheels turn backwards,should'nt they roll free when mower is backed up,I have to lift the rear wheels to pull back,is this normal? can't be

    I can't get the flipping wheel to come off?!?! am I dumb or what the hell is wrong with me

    • @ils360
      @ils360  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Billy Peterson if it's the nicer version with the bearing on the inside of the wheel sometimes the bearing gets rusted in place on the shaft it sucks to take off sometimes just turn the mower on its side and soak it in PB Blaster for a couple days and see if you can pull it off
