+Audiwan Kenobi i know, was looking at the 2016 GT but it's not a practical car for a family man...this challenger checks all my boxes and i'm saving up for the Manual which should last me a while too :-)
+Deejay Core I actually am really into manual cars, my Jeep Wrangler before my Challenger was a Manual. But I found a really good deal on a lightly used 2010 Challenger R/T in Plum Crazy Purple but it was automatic, I test drove it and I loved it. Soo.. I drive a 2010 Challenger R/T PCP Automatic :-) if I was to buy a brand new one... I dunno... I kinda like how well the auto stick works, yeah sure it's not "the same" but it feels just as good when your foot is on the floor. If anything it feels faster.
+Savage Life - Don't feel bad. I drive a manual Mini cooper S which is fun to drive...but I am getting this car in an auto. The 8 speed is very advanced and shifts much faster than you can with the manual. In addition, if you get the manual you have to pay $1000 gas guzzler tax.
Contrary to what is said in this video...the new "Shaker" is functional. Air enters through the scoop which feeds the cold air to the CAI through a tube. I can't say whether or not it offers any gains on the dyno though.
This has got to be my favorite review of this car. Clear and concise. It almost captures the beauty and history of this challenger in a really clean way.
Nice review! We have two car seats in our ‘18 392 Scat Pack Shaker 6 speed in F8 green! My girls love the car! How else are you supposed to raise little gear heads? Certainly not in a minivan!
I too am surprised they have not licensed the scatman song for use in one of their commercials! What an absolutely perfect crazy and wild song for an absolutely perfect crazy and wild car.
I have a 392 scat pack shaker, but it's actually called a 392 rt scat pact shaker. Which makes it alittle confusing for me. I'm not sure what the diff is between a 392 scat pack and a 392 rt scat pack.
Why are people putting down the people with a family and kids? I'm glad he showed this bc i have a 3 year old and soon a new born on the way. Fuck those ppl who are single and mad. It's a car review.. he covered a lot. Get over it. Knowing a baby seat can fit in the back is very helpful to ppl with kids. There's only ever been like 3 vids showing it.
+x7stringinJSCx Could just buy you know a Sedan.... so you won't be faced with eventually selling the damn thing anyway... it's not really a practical car for a family..
I may not have kids, but I do have 2 lovely fur babies! 1 Golden Retriever and 1 shit zu they would fit nice and comfortable in the Challenger! Peace everyone!
+Brent Blevins Well by pointing out you can seat 5 in the car, including a baby seat, it shows that the challenger can be a car families use. Probably not the primary vehicle to tote your family, but you wouldn't have to get rid of it/can work as a viable other option. The car also has a 5 star safety rating, so as long as you don't drive it like a twat with the kiddos in the car and you can still afford the gas and insurance, why wouldn't you be able to keep it?
+2legit2sh!t I'm sorry but you want performance why choose the slower inconvenient option? Charger would be worlds better as a family car and you'd still have your fun... Im willing to bet there will be numerous scuff marks coming from that baby seat onto your car.
I plan on getting this car by the end of next year before they possibly fuck up the design. I just don’t want my 392 Hemi Scat Pack to grow out of its retro 71 styling like both the Mustang and Camero did. But I don’t know wether to get it in orange or green with a black interior, unless they decide to make the car in plum crazy again. I have decided on what packages I want when I by the car, but am still on the fence about color, and want a second opinion on the type of Challenger 392 Scat Pack I should get. Could someone please help me out?
Incorrect - back in the day scatpack didn’t just include the top car of each model. As an example the super bee was below the R/T for coronet and the Dart Swinger was below the Dart GTS. They were all part of the scat pack. Scatpack today is different in the sense it is now a model of the challenger and charger and not a group of performance cars within a division. A 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona was part of the scatpack - it wasn’t a scatpack.
Being a scat pack was all about stuffing performance engines and suspensions into a base model Dodge... It aided in affordability also. Not exactly being "the best of the best"...
Rumor has it that Craig Cole has been warned multiple times by the autoguide HR department for searching up "MILF scat videos." Little do they know, he was actually the originator of the genre during one steamy Michigan night in the back seat of a honda pilot with an aggressive milf and a colon full of Taco Bell mexican pizzas.
So a big block hemi, nearly 500 horsepower and shaker hood works well with a baby seat. Thank God you did that comparison. Many soccer moms will sigh with relief. Wait, the challenger isn't a soccer mom car is it?
+Dan Kelsey Well, if someone has a family, and still wants an American muscle car, that's a big deal. One big family car, and a Challenger as a fun car/backup in case the big car breaks down.
His logic with the trims isn't entirely correct.. The 392 in the scat pack is the same exact motor that is in the srt version of the car. The original scat packs were all about performance for the money, so this is just like the old ones.
i have not driven one of these but i want too. I love the styling of these cars. I am hesitant to get excited tho....the weight of these cars is just stupid regardless of the hp. I feel like u would need actual slicks for back tires to get this thing to launch of the line lol. cars with 150 less hp that have a resonable weight are gonna give this car run for the money. The price tag is a little hard to swallow too.
+Adam Zebrowski If you want simply a drag racing car that can tightly zip around corners, probably go with another vehicle. I plan on getting one personally, because it gives me raw power to enjoy, and the overall bigger size and nice interior also means I can use it as a convenient daily driver. There aren't many cars well equipped for 45k or so that gives you 0-60 low to mid 4 second speed, combined with the ability to seat 4-5 people and go on a comfortable cross country trip.
Insurance and gas prices is not what killed Musclecars in 72. It was Gov't regulation of smog control that killed HP. Lower compression, low lead then no lead fuels etc. Gas prices didn't start going up until the mid 70s gas embargo.
The 392 doesnt take a supercharger very well. They blow up way to easy with forced induction. That why dodge brought out the 6.2 L with forged internals for the hellcat.
Don't even compare the mustang to a challenger dude, the mustang is not even a muscle car anymore , is more of a sport car now. It has lost its roots .
+efrain valladares If I'm not mistaken, I believe with the scat pack the challenger is running about 4.3 - 4.4 seconds in the 0-60. The regular R/T is slower though by a good bit. I love the scat pack option quite frankly, everything you could want but still reasonably priced for the amount of power you're getting.
efrain valladares No problem, glad I could help. I looked up the regular R/T 0-60 time (without the scat pack upgrade) and apparently it's around 5.1 seconds in a 0-60 run. So The scat pack is definitely a package worth looking into if you're looking at this car.
arsenaly9 Ok I'm no Dodge expert but here's what I can figure from my own personal looks at each car. From what I can tell.. the "Shaker" part of the title means that you have the hood cut open with the intake manifold or whatever it is sticking out for a much more aggressive look. The Scat Pack title means that you do in fact have the SRT engine which is more powerful and more awesome in every way. So I'm guessing that the Scat Pack Shaker combo means that you have the hood cut open to expose the intake manifold and you have the engine upgrade which is just awesome in my book. If there are any true Dodge enthusiasts reading this, let me know if my info is wrong because again I'm not well versed in Dodge vehicle packaging but this is what I could figure out from my research.
arsenaly9 I think word on the street is that 2018 will be when you see the next challenger generation/major redesign. Not sure yet but there is some info out online that suggests that that's the case.
Titaniacs Not originally. Back in the early 70s it was a term for certain Challengers. So this is a nod to the older challenger cars from back in the day. Just old school lingo.
+Steven Burton You can get a well equipped scat pack for 45k easily where I am from (or go with no options for less than 40k). The only challenger models I have seen in the 50k+ range are the SRT models. The hellcat starts out at over 60k and with options easily hits 70k. I think your numbers are a bit off....both base models have more than a 20k difference. The scat pack overall is a pretty great deal, especially if you don't fall into the trap of getting every single overpriced option.
Steering loose and vague ? Huge and heavy car ? What planet are you from and how does anybody of your age review something you know nothing about. People like you want to compare this to a matchbox mustang that will barely seat two get into a mopar and call this a boat. Copy cat BS review that obviously has no history in the “Muscle car” and it’s true meaning…
i hate when they complain about the weight of the Challenger. The dam car is supposed to be heavy and solid like a true muscle car. Get over it.
No! My 1968 Camaro was 3200 pounds wet and 2800 stripped. The 1996 Camaro SS was 4400 pounds loaded with all the bells and whistles.
+DevPack You know what's even funnier? The weight of the people who are doing the complaining!
huh?
The car is great, it's the only one of the three that has actual interior space.
+Silver Turd 1996 Camaro was 3400lbs Loaded... Quit looking at Gross Vehicle weight ..
this thang just don't try to be like the other 2 pony cars...this is a REAL muscle car.
+Audiwan Kenobi i know, was looking at the 2016 GT but it's not a practical car for a family man...this challenger checks all my boxes and i'm saving up for the Manual which should last me a while too :-)

+Deejay Core can't drive a manual so I'm saying up for the auto :/
+Deejay Core same here, I just cant get over the impracticality of the stang gt.
Hellcat is still proud of his younger brother.
BCJDM Younger? No. Not to mention the Scat Pack has a larger engine.
Hellcat is the steroid pumping younger brother of the Scat
Weaker beother
Contrary to what is said in this video...the new "Shaker" is functional. Air enters through the scoop which feeds the cold air to the CAI through a tube. I can't say whether or not it offers any gains on the dyno though.
thank you. People always forget to mention that.

Something is missing. What could it be. MAYBE Craig throwing out some Scat jokes?
I plan on getting this car by the end of next year before they possibly fuck up the design. One thing they improved is the shifter, at least when I drove a Scat pack. Vs the 2012 SRT I had it's like night and day.
Being a scat pack was all about stuffing performance engines and suspensions into a base model Dodge... It aided in affordability also. Not exactly being "the best of the best"...

Wtf??
+Christopher .WalkenPNW Mr. Walken, where have you been?! We've missed your bawdy commentary on the more unsavory elements of life.
+Christopher .WalkenPNW .......Slow claps*

there is a little mistake regarding the Super bee logo when you mentioned them. these are actually a scat pack logo super bee is alittle different.
This was supposed to be a more reasonable way to get a 392 Hemi. I am seeing Scat Pack cars with higher price window stickers then my 392 Hemi SRT.
Wow, the 6.4l hemi sounds so mad. Love it :)
His logic with the trims isn't entirely correct.. The 392 in the scat pack is the same exact motor that is in the srt version of the car. The original scat packs were all about performance for the money, so this is just like the old ones.
But the highest trim is the Hellcat (And now Demon) so it still doesn't share a motor with the highest trim.
Egg Daddy The Hellcat and Demon use a 6.2L Hemi. The Scat Pack uses a 6.4L Hemi. No, they do not have the same engine.
I didn't knew that Sebastian Vettel reviewing cars!
Did anyone else hear 'sh!t your scoop sticking out of the hood'?! @2:02
It doesn't beg the question; it raises the question. Those mean completely different things.
i have not driven one of these but i want too. I love the styling of these cars. I am hesitant to get excited tho....the weight of these cars is just stupid regardless of the hp. First thing I would do in a zombie apocalypse is steal one of these and drive down the highway blasting music and screaming IM A MAN!!!
The guy in the beginning of the video with the cigar is my grandpa
good review with baby seat
This car sounds like the one from Bullet!
Nice work on your review.
It's a little known fact that the legend Scatman John is dead and has been since 1999 because of lung cancer. Sad but true...
How to install the crossbars in a 2014/2015 Toyota hilander
If i can't get a hellcat I am atleast getting this, either way ill be happy
believe it or not, that shaker hood is functional and actually adds a couple horsepower. It's a laughable amount, but still.....
exactly why I want a scat pack. Cause I'm a scat man. wish the scat badging was all over the car instead of just the bee
Thanks for the baby part. I'm newly married and I need to make sure my wife doesn't ask me to buy an SUV when kids arrive.
Nice review man!
Just curious what is this color? Is it the TorRed?
Did you ever find out?
What is this color called ?
nice review
So is the challenger basically the charger?
+Mark Hunt They are built on the same frame/platform, just different aesthetics.
All the sophistication of a prison inmate
wonder how much horses you'd have if you slap a supercharger on it
The 392 doesnt take a supercharger very well. They blow up way to easy with forced induction. That why dodge brought out the 6.2 L with forged internals for the hellcat.
So what are people paying for this bad boy I'm very interested
people are dumping them for around low 40s..
Actually the brakes are the previous years SRT brakes.
Scatman lol nice!
So what car were you reviewing the 392 hemi the scat pack or the shaker their all different cars
its a scat pak shaker challenger rt and all R/T scat paks have the 392 hemi.
Awesome car!
Anyone knows how much an used one is...??
+jrarael90 Go to sites that sell used cars like cars.com It depends on where you live and what features you want in the car. Dumbass!
Wake me up when they make a Dodge Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker Wide Body!
Its coming soon. 50th Anniversary
Wow great car
Maybe they don't count srt as scatpack because it's supercharged.
This was posted 6 days ago, is Craig done with the "ladies" yet?
I have a question whats the difference between the 2015 scat pack 392 and 2015 scat pack 392? I tried google search but it gives me the same HP.
Kevin Cervantes you jusr repeat it wtf
YES!
I want this car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
cute little tires.
yet still runs low 12s with them
hellcat?
Joao vitor folha de moura no
No hell cat is a more beefy SRT, this is a more beefy version of the R/T
lo amo!!
who would put a baby's car seat on a SRT 392? or let alone put a stroller in the TRUNK? WHO????
+8000RPMS People with kids. Duh. I have a 3 year old. and maybe in 18 months or so will be another new born.
Nice
You need to learn about
the original Scat Pack cars before you talk about them.
sexy ass car
I'd consider this car if I was a fat fuck that can't fit in a better looking faster Stang.
Stang slower too =]
Don't even compare the mustang to a challenger dude, the mustang is not even a muscle car anymore , is more of a sport car now. It has lost its roots .

Big? drive a civic then. You are a lightweight.
Sounds like a dump truck.
Why does every single review of the challenger say it's big and heavy? So is your mom, get over it already!
Lost meAt non-functional hood scoop

How are you? You're A Champ! property warm What's your opinion about this, guys !
Isn't 'scat' a type of slang for SHIT?

Pretty heavy coupe??? Lol it's not a coupe
+cmanlier then what is this?
+mebin john a sports car. A muscle car. Either of those
Autos are faster.. now
50k for a scat pack. 55k for a hellcat. Lol what would you choose?

+1 because of scatman john at the end
