I imagine the initial reason Nintendo wanted to call the Super Mushroom the “Magic Mushroom” is because both Fire Flower and Super Star shared the first letter in each word of their names.
I LOVED the Tanooki Suit in Mario 3 (NES). It turned Mario into a statue.
The Poison Mushroom is more of an enemy than a powerup.
Or, "PowerDowns".

Definitely. So cool to just simply have powers. Creatively, Especially the galaxy/galaxy2 ones, but the leaf and cat is are some of my faves. Penguin was cool too.
You forgot one other rare and bizarre power-up: The Super Crown. In New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, you can only use it when playing as Toadette. This power-up turns her into a Princess Peach clone known as Peachette! Peachette can double-jump and glide like the Super Acorn and also get an automatic boost before falling into a pit! When it came out, people started making memes on the Internet showcasing Bowsette.
Yeah, its presence raises all sorts of questions about some of the characters. Like, are we sure Peach, Daisy and Rosalina are actually humans, and not Toads using Super Crowns? Nintendo has unintentionally opened a can of worms with this one!
@@benrompen7100 well the Special Episode of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker shows us that the Super Crown was found in a maze and then brought to the Mushroom Kingdom. The princesses don't wear the Super Crown unlike Peachette AND the existence of Baby Peach, Baby Daisy and Rosalina's Storybook confirmes that they were humans since they were born.
I really wish you included super Mario 64 DS in this video, but this was still a really good and fun video!

Im surprised the weird mushroom from Super Mario Maker wasn't mentioned. It lived up to its name by making Mario tall and lanky. It also made him jump higher like Luigi in other games.
The turbo nozzle can't be blazingly fast, because it's full of water. it would put the blaze out.

The Rock Mushroom in SMG2 is actually a call back to the final Bowser fight in SMG1. In the fight, Bowser uses the rocks around the small planetoid to become like a giant bolder in order to crush Mario/Luigi, but leaves his face uncovered and vulnerable to a spin attack.
Cool bug fact: you can actually collect almost every star that requires the metal cap without using the metal cap

@@JM-nx8yq of course! You got to be really fast. You can collect every coin + star with the cap you spawn. Dont need to press the button. You could even collect coins + star without using the cap you spawn with. But that's really tedious and difficult.

@@JM-nx8yq yes actually it is =) but its difficult because you need to plan where you jump in the water and you need to be a master of swimming. Actually super difficult
While you are Bunny Mario in SML2, after jumping keep the A button held down and when you hit the ground you will bounce around and jump higher
1:06 Isn’t it usually just called the Super Mushroom (hence, Super Mario)?
Edit: 1:21, okay, but I’d still never heard it called Magic Mushroom before.
Honestly, of the three options in the original game, I tend to find the Fire Flower weirder if only because it lets you throw fireballs even underwater.

How is Super Crown NOT in video, it defenetly weirdest one ever.
Same reason that Super Mario 64 DS's take on the P-Balloon and Super Mushroom aren't. He only covered power-ups for the original Wii U version of NSMBU, not the Switch port.
